Gravel & Parrots
I worked in a large aviary for 4 years. When a bird died unexpectedly it was examined by a vet. Many times it was found with gravel impacted in its gut even tough we never used it. When several baby budgies died we had them examined and they were found with gravel impacted in their guts, they had gotten it from their parents. (Some of the breeder birds had previous owners who fed gravel.)
Parrots do not need gravel; wild parrots might need clay, depending on their diet. Poultry need a little grit in their gizzard to grind up tough food.Come visit me, Mongo, Vern & Chester.

Little Cosmo is also a budgie. They are great little birds.
I hope you also feed fresh food and pellets. Gravel is not necessary and can get stuck in the gut and make parrots very sick.Come visit me, Mongo, Vern & Chester.
