 I was abandoned in a pet store from people who supposedly loved me. I hat a mate for 5 years until she died. I was devastated! Mom felt sorry for me and brought me home! I now have a huge cage with tons of toys and all the food i could ask for! I also have a new best friend, my moms first bird, Simon, a lovebird! He has kept my mind off of my old mate! Thanks to him and my new mom, i will be much happier, and safer!!!. |

Since you are local I just thought I would mention:
Cheeky came from a pet store but PeeWee was adopted from M.A.R.S (Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary). If you are not familiar with them, try to visit sometime. They are usually open on Saturday as well as a couple of days a week. Check their facebook page for opening information:

They do wing & beak clipping, boarding, birdie boot camp & more plus the owner is always happy to answer questions and give advice to fellow bird owners.

Hi Tweet,
You now have a lovely home and your
own lovebird. Life can be grand.
I'm an only bird. I kinda like it that way.
I get all the food, all the attention,
all the toys. I'm molting right now and
my Mom saves all my feathers and sends
them off in greeting cards to her friends.
I kinda peck at the cards and take snibbles
out so the person knows I care also.
I don't have a website yet.

I think I may of been an only bird too long but mom got me a fake bird and set him on my perch and I made such a ruckus and beat him up so she took him out of the cage so dont know if I would be any better with a real bird or not. Feathers may fly hehe. I have to go get my wings, nails, and beak trimmed to day. Mom got my first cage out to take me in and then we are going to visit my human grandma and sister on the way back home. Cheech to you later.Come visit me, Gus & Chi chi ..
