 Squeakers was from an incredibly abusive home and apparently flew away to escape it the first chance he got. My dad, who worked at the local university as a teacher, found him flying free, featherless, dying, and about to be caught outside in the first freeze of the winter. He brought Squeaks to my apartment, knowing I had nursed birds before, and I was able to nurse this poor, terrified bird back to health and happiness. After nearly 3 years as my pet, he's finally coming around to realize he's safe, but he still doesn't trust people completely. He'll never be a cuddle sponge but at least he has a safe, happy, forever home with people who are devoted to his happiness.. |

How are things going for you. We are great. Mom has been getting a lot of fresh veggies from the garden and she shares with us. Our favorite is the broccoli. We love it when she gives us a cucumber too, we like to make a big mess with them. We love it that you laugh. It just shows you that mom has made you a happy home now. Take care. I used to bite my new mommy, but now I'd be happy to sit on her shoulder all day long and get scritches.
