All the pretty colors So it's the end of the month, and fall is finally starting to settle upon us here. Summer went by so fast for me. I lost my second home and found my third. I've been with my new mom now for about five months and I've really started to settle in. The leaves are starting to change color. Lots of red, orange and yellow. It's very pretty in NH this time of year. Apple picking is coming to a close so mom is hoping to get some picking in soon (not that I like apples all that much, but they are one of Pippins favorites). The weather is surprisingly still very warm, but mom and I hear that is soon to change. Whether we like it or not snow is on it's way, brrr! We've has some baby birds come and go and now the house is relatively quiet again. I hope you've had a wonderfull summer and fall, and I'll talk to you soon. How's the hunt for the playstand going? Have you charmed your mom into getting you one yet? They are a lot of fun. Whos your cockatiel friend by the way? He is very cute. Oh did you hear the sad news today. Mom just told me that Alex (the African Grey...the famous one from the Alex foundation) passed away yesturday. I couldn't belive it. I was so sad to hear the news. Hi Zoey! Wow you are a very pretty bird! I had lots of blue on my forehead when I was your age. It makes us very distinctive, doesn't it? My mom won't give me french fries either, but she does air pop popcorn for me, yum! I like anything corn. She gives Gizmo and me corn on the cob. Gizzie eats just the kernels, but I love to tear the cob to little pieces to get every bit of goodness out of it! You ought to try it! Have a great week and welcome to the Bird Channel! My playstands Well I have two different playstands. One is upstairs and the other downstairs. The one with the two orange food cups mom orderd on line at at place called www.fosterandsmith.com. The other one is upstairs. It's a big manzanita tree playstand that she tied lots of toys and ladders too using leather strips. She got that one on sale at a petstore in NH. They can be kind of expensive but there is a website that shows you how to make them yourself :) Mom got me lots of playstands since I'm not allowed to play on top of my cage (I get aggressive up there...oops). Hello from Ollie Hey there Zoey, welcome to the channel. Wow you have a lot more blue on your head than me. It's great that you wiggled your way into such a loving home. I did too, except the the day my mom came to visit me at the rescue I tried to bite her. Needless to say she took me home that very day, lol.
