This is the story as Mom told me. Mom was pondering for sometime to get a parrot and her thoughts were an African Grey, Eclectus or Cockatoo. She searched endlessly and did not like the idea of having a bird picked for her and shipped. She wanted the bird to pick her. She went to a local bird dealer and did not like the conditions there. She then went to a Pet Expo, was given the name of a local breeder/handrai- ser of Greys from Jean Pattison. She contacted Jane,(my other Mom) waited for the arrival of the babies, went for her initial visit, as soon as she saw me, She knew I was the one. And I let on that I liked her to. She was very lucky to find Jane and aquire one of Jean's babies (me) Mom thinks of me 24/7. When she's at work or out and about and she sees other birds or even a feather, she thinks of me. And constantly thinking about what do to give me the best enviroment. And I know this because I think I can read her mind....

Mom's head. But I've moved down to include her shoulder so that I can get at her lips.. I know she has food in there and she's hiding it from me.

I DO NOT LIKE BIG SCARY OBJECTS !! ie; some saucer looking thing mom wants to make a toy or bird bath out of and I don't like the big orange shop vac. I don't like when Hanna (dog) or Kayla (cat) are in MY WINDOW, PLAYING WITH MY TOYS! Most of all, I DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN MOM IS SPENDING TIME WITH CHEWY AND TALKING TO HIM/HER (whatever IT is) AND NOT ME! I get a little MAD !

Her head. It's my favorate perch. And she has these really weird feathers. I try to make them pretty like mine, but it's gonna take a lot of work I think. Maybe Mom's stressed out and that's why her feathers look so funny. I'm still learning Human language and am quite good at it, and I am very smart and funny and I think I would like to be on American Idol one day! I'm becoming quite the singer too!

I can be very stubborn. If I get ontop my cage (when it's bedtime)Mom has the hardest time trying to get me to come down. I only step up when I want to..

Hi Myra I am so glad your mom found you! You sound like you have a wonderful, loving home! I am Fletch a 17 year old CAG, my Mom and Dad also have a Goffins Cockatoo Alfie.....and they are thinking of getting a TAG in the future! I also live with 5 awesome golden retrievers and other pets! i'm your first i',m Jango and came by to welcome you to the channel and give you a vote.I have the saddest news an parrot and bird lover could hear. Alex the famous Grey who worked with Dr. Irene Pepperberg, died this morning. Dr. Pepperberg must be absolutely devastated. I have copied what it says on the Alex Foundation website.--- We are deeply saddened to announce Alex died this morning of unknown causes. We will have a formal press release on Monday when we know the cause of death. He was absolutely fine yesterday and he was found dead this morning. Dr. Pepperberg will take the weekend to mourn his death. We hope to have more information on Monday We miss him so much.
