 Mom spoils me rotton, keeps my cage very clean and plays all my favorite music so I can dance with her.
 Nipping me on the butt when I am cleaning her cage,
tweaking my big toe to wake me up when I nap on the couch and unlocking Jasper's cage to let her out so she can tease her. She also plays a great game of peek-a-boo, covering her beak with her talon and then as she moves it away, says *peek-a-boo*.

Gallinippers! Monster mosquitoes poised to strike Florida - Part 1
One of the most ferocious insects you've ever heard of —it's the size of a quarter and its painful bite has been compared to being knifed — is set to invade Florida this summer.
The Sunshine State, already home to man-eating sinkholes, invading Burmese pythons, swarming sharks, tropical storms and other disasters, can expect to see an explosion of shaggy-haired gallinippers (Psorophora ciliata), a type of giant mosquito, according to entomologist Phil Kaufman of the University of Florida.
"I wouldn't be surprised, given the numbers we saw last year," Kaufman said in a statement. "When we hit the rainy cycle, we may see that again."
As insects go, gallinippers are particularly formidable. Their eggs lay dormant for years, awaiting the floodwaters that will enable them to hatch. Even in their larval stage, gallinippers are so tough they'll eat tadpoles and other small aquatic prey. [Ouch! Nature's 10 Biggest Pests]
And as adults, the voracious pests feed day and night (unlike everyday mosquitoes, which generally feed only at dawn and dusk). Their bodies are strong enough to bite through clothing, and they're known to go after pets, wild animals and even fish, MyFoxOrlando.com reports.
"It's about 20 times bigger than the sort of typical, Florida mosquito that you find," Anthony Pelaez of Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry told Fox Orlando. "And it's mean, and it goes after people, and it bites, and it hurts."

Well, pops and Casper didn't make it to the beach yesterday. BUT, with the temps hitting 85ish today, he plans to make the drive to the ocean. Darn Casper is so lucky that he gets to go places with pops. He even has a special perch for the car so he can watch where they are going. something about Casper being a co-pilot. Hi Marley
I wish we could have 6 months of summer weather instead of the 6 months of winter. June & July are our hot months, August starts to cool down. I would be happy to have 80-82 degrees year round!
Today was another dark and dreary day. Where is this big warm-up that we are suppose to get? It did get up to 35 degrees today. The icicles are slowly melting (and so is the snow). Dad took down the outside lights and broke off the huge 7 foot icicle. Oh well, it wasn’t the biggest one we’ve had but, it was fun watching it grow. They say it will get warmer and lots of rain (including freezing rain) to come. If we all say HURRY SPRING at the same time, maybe it will come sooner. Have a great night.

HEY MARLEY & FLOCK
WE USED TO HAVE A VERY LARGE FREEZER IN OUR HOUSE WHERE WE COULD KEEP LOTS OF STUFF. IT BROKE DOWN SO THEN WE GOT A FREEZER HALF THE SIZE. WE BROUGHT IT HERE TO THE CONDO AND HAD IT OUT IN THE GARAGE ALONG WITH THE FRIGERATOR/FREEZER THAT WAS LEFT IN THE GARAGE. IT JUST TOOK UP WAYT TOO MUCH SPACE AND PLUS WHEN THEY MADE EVERYONE GET THE BIG GREEN GARBAGE CANS WE HAD TO MAKE ROOM FOR THEM. SO WE SOLD THE FREEZER. WE ONLY HAVE THE FREEZER WITH THE FIRDGE TO PUT THINGS IN. ITS HARD TO GET USED TO A 2 CAR GARAGE WHEN AT OUR HOUSE WE HAD A BIG 2 1/2 CAR GARAGE THAT WAS 24' x 22', IT WAS THE BIGGEST GARAGE THE CITY WOULD LET G-PA BUILD.
OH DO NOT WORRY I WILL NOT SAY A THING TO ELLEN. SHE IS JUST SO VERY UPSET. SHE HAD SUCH A VERY CLOSE BOND WITH MICKEY AND I KNOW SHE IS HURTING SO BAD. SHE BROUGHT MICKEY'S ASHES HOME IN A VERY BEAUTIFUL URN TODAY. SHE IS STILL CRYING A LOT. I WONDER HOW HER OTHER BIRDS ARE TAKING IT. THEY ARE USUALLY SO VERY QUIET TILL THINGS GET BETTER. I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER. I KNOW AS YOU DO HOW MUCH IT HURTS TO LOOSE A FEATHERED BABY. IT WILL TAKE TIME.

Isn't it so sad that the skin kids no matter how how they are don't appreciate who and what their parronts are to them and how they are always there for them no matter what! They seem to think that their so called friends are better and are family to them but they will just have to learn the hard way and maybe when it's a bit too late how really special their true family is/was! My Mom is going through the same thing with my skin sibs,and it makes my Mom so sad that my skin sis prefers her leeching boyfriend over her and she tries skin sis to work it both ways!She's been hurt by this guy several times,comes back to my Mom and within 24 hours is back with him,he's even told skin sis to kill herself! My Mom is so scared of this nutcase and won't let him in or near our house again!
What a thing to tell your sweet Mom about getting rid of you! You fids have always been there for your Mom and have given you Mom unconditional love! What a nasty thing to say to your sweet Mom,making her chose between you and him? It's so hard when grand kids are involved and my Mom's heart goes out to your poor Mom having to be in the grand kids war with skin kids! She shouldn't have to be put in that position! Someday soon they'll find out just what they have lost over what they chose! Give your Mom a big hug from my Mom and we give you and your Mom warm hugs also! Yes the same way here with shipping from Canada so sure know what you mean. The knitted wristlets are very nice and now the kids are into the fingerless gloves so they can still text with gloves on. The weather has been warmer here then usual and no snow in sight for a while. Mom has to get blood work every 3 months so she decided to go for that today and took advantage of the good weather. You know its winter here and the nice weather wont last long. “Someone once asked us, “how can you be friends with someone you have never met?” and we told them “you’ve never been on BC I bet” and that about sums it up my friend” V4U. Hey we don't blame your mom and dad wanting to live out of the city, we moved to the country to and loving it. Mom has been unpacking to and just about has us settled. She has just a few things left back at the old place but we have until the end of the month to finish it up. You are lucky your power came back! That is great that you have the generator. So if your power goes out you are still OK even though you have septic and well. In CT we didn't have the generator and we were miserable....especially in the winter. A few times we had to go to a hotel. Now ..where we live in NC...we have very mild winters.......And if the power goes out. We have a monster generator!! Heehee!

Hi Marley
Mom is going to the gym this afternoon, but just to work with her trainer on her knee. She knows she can't try zumba again yet. Her knee isn't swollen anymore, but she still feels it when she walks.
This morning Mom told me she would spend the whole morning with me, but it was a dirty trick! She did the major clean on my room! Everything is clean now, and I am not a happy camper. She even found her pair of glasses I hid in my cage under some toys! Now they are gone, and I bet she plans to wear them again. They are mine!!!

We usually have terrible winters here too. The roads are not cleared for days sometimes. Being in the woods, when the trees fall across the road, it can be bad. Right now we are having some melting. But they say more snow coming and then rain this weekend. Spring starts on March 20th. But, spring weather in usually in late May. You can start planting flowers the last weekend in May. Then June and July are hot. August can be cool. That's it for good weather. Our summers are way too short too. I think I will protest!

HEY MARLEY, THANKS FOR THE SNOW. YOU SURE PACKED IT UP REAL NICE SO IT DIDN'T MELT. I WILL HAVE TO STORE IT IN THE FREEZER CAUSE THE WEATHER IS GOING UP TO 50 DGREES BY THIS WEEKEND. WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL IT GETS COLD AGAIN BEOFRE MORE SNOW CAN BE SHIPPED. MAYBE IF I PUT THE SLED OUT FRONT IT WILL ENTICE SOME SNOW TO COME.
THATS ONE THING ABOUT LIVING IN THE MIDWEST, WE HAVE FOUR SEASONS SO THAT WHEN YOU ARE TIRED OF ONE THE NEXT SEASON BEGINS. WE HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

Well hey there Marley
You're the second one to offer to send us snow - lol! Is there a sale going on or something? Mom says she likes snow from the inside with a warm mug of something in her hands. Mom spent 6 1/2 years living in the Netherlands and she says that's the coldest she really ever wants to be, with cold, sleet and wet snow that didn't stay long but made a big mess of things. The earthquake thing can be very bad of course. There have been a couple deadly ones in California in the more recent past. Mom is a native Texan and spent her early years going through a few hurricanes. They aren't too much fun either but at least they can be tracked via radar. Besides, mom says she loves lightening and thunder - humans can be a little strange, huh? Big birdie hugs and a v4u Marley!

Hi Marley
I am the only one that gets to eat at the table with my Parronts because I have great table manners,I won't walk all over the food and only stand on the edge of the plate and reach over! My Dad always shares his food with me too! You are right about us birdies loving Italian food! There's nothing like it! My Mom's glad that the holidays are over with so now we can get back to normal around here!

Hi Marley
Chi chi told you all about the jungle talk toy and its my favorite toy. There are some people around here that have metal roofs and the good thing is the snow flies off it. Yes we have had snow where it has to be shoveled off the porch roof mostly cause the rest is slanted pretty good. Hope your power stays on and it doesnt get worse there too! Mom got the last cardigan done and gave it to the grand daughter over the weekend. She is glad she is done with them and now she can do something else she wants to work on. That was the fourth one she had made so think mom was getting tired of working on them .It did turn out good so mom was happy about that and the grand daughter liked it a lot . “Someone once asked us, “how can you be friends with someone you have never met?” and we told them “you’ve never been on BC I bet” and that about sums it up my friend” V4U. yep as long as we have been on BC never saw a fid get botd two days in a row either. Think one did but then it was pulled off him and given to another fid so you lucked out LOL. Oh the toy that Gus is playing with called a jungle talk toy and mom gets them at foster and smith and he loves them. Mom takes the chain off cause Gus likes his on the ground or cage bottom and she worries about chains too. They have a blue one that is smaller and the red one which is bigger and what mom gets Gus. It say hello, calling all birds, I love you and one laughs so there are 4 buttons and Gus gets them all going and plays with that toy all day long and is his favorite toy. He goes thru about one a year LOL. He gets really upset and crys when the batteries need replaced but mom doesnt let him see her doing that cause he likes to take the back off then if he sees her taking it off LOL. That is how he has broken the other ones taking the back loose. Mom got the last cardigan done and gave it to the grand daughter over the weekend.
