Hi Jasper!
I hope this last week of spring is treating you kindly. Hard to believe the year is nearly half over already. That's why we need to make the most of these glorious warm days including our time on the baseball field. And speaking of the sport, we have yet another Thursday game coming up. We'll be playing the BC WonderWings, a team captioned by Pico the Caique and Indiana Sam the Sennie. Boo Boo, Gus and Scion as well as Rocket, Rudy, Prissy, SuziQ, Peekaboo, Punkin and Lars make up the rest of team so as you can see, we'll be meeting up against friends. And what happens when we get together with friends? We have a good time, no matter the outcome of the game, right? Right! I know we've lost three of our four games but look on the bright side; we have eight games yet to play in the season so there's many opportunities yet to get the needed WINS to make it to the play offs. If a team could win on sportsmanship and participation, our team would in the top standings, that's for sure. The MAJOR LEAGUE BEAKS are an enthusiastic, active team and that makes me so proud of us! Wether we lose or win, we're pumped and thrilled about the game. Is that cool or what!

Thanks for being one totally awesome team. I'm looking forward to meeting up with you on the field Thursday. See you there!

I know you're already at the stadium but I'm just going to drop off this baseball memo anyway.

It's a THURSDAY in June so you know what that means; we're live at Kevlar Memorial Stadium this afternoon! Today we're hosting those little CrackerJack Conures. We can't let their size lull us into thinking this could be an easy win. On the contrary, if you know conures like I know conures, they're a feisty bunch who have no fear of larger birds, something I'm sure they'll be bringing to the field in full force today. So be sure to pack your MAJOR LEAGUE confidence in with your cap and glove today when you prepare to head for the ball diamond this afternoon.

Hello Jasper!
What've you been doing today? I managed to actually get some quality outdoor time today because it was warm enough, the wind was only a nice breeze and the bugs weren't hanging around my face like they have been the last couple of times I tried to go out. One day we all went out but got taken back in about 10 minutes later because those pesky little flies wouldn't stop buzzing around our faces. I was shaking my head so hard, I nearly toppled myself off the perch a couple of times.

I've got a baseball note for you. I'm just sorry your name's not in it. The reserves got their chance to play this past week. It's a shame I couldn't have had you in there as well though. Perhaps we would've won afterall!

I just wanted to touch base on our game this past week, the one we lost to the Raiders, unfortunately, but it wasn't because we didn't try. Oh my! We made them work to get that win. Hats off to our home run hitters, Zeena, Blue, Mackenzie and Tia. Even I got lucky and put one over the fence. Ruby snagged one of the two triples, as well as a double. Simon, Mac, and Rio also got doubles. There were quite a few singles, including Peppy's and Cori's and a number of walks but it just wasn't enough to get ahead on the scoreboard. The Zon's had too many innings with the bases loaded! But that's okay; we had ourselves a good time playing ball with our friends, both on our team and those on the other, right?

Our next opponents are the CrackerJack Conures who we'll be hosting since we'll be the home team this coming week. Game's on Thursday! Here's a practice throw to keep you warmed up and ready for our next game

Hi Jasper
How are u sweetie? We are getting some much needed rain today & also tomorrow...it hasn't rained here in almost 2 weeks! It has rained all around us, but we haven't seen a drop until today!

Mom was a bit sad & weepy today. It's been one month since she lost her precious Chloe. I haven't let mom wallow in sadness tho! I've been singing to her, playing & doing my acrobatics on her lap, shoulders & back, climbed onto her head, hanging onto her hair, swung down to her face & played peekaboo! & other assorted entertaining games! If she leaves the room, I slide down her cane & follow her saying "Hello Bub"!...Bub is the name I chose for myself! I kept her smiling & laughing all day long with my comical antics!

We MLBs lost our BazeBol game today, but I'd like to congratulate JennyLynn & her Rainforest Raiders for a game well played!

RaneBeau here. Just wanted t'say it was great gettin' t'see you play t'day. That's some wing you've got on ya. You've got pitching talent in your blood I'd say. How's things with you and the rest of the flock? Keepin' Floop busy? Do the two of you hang out t'gether at all? I never would've guessed it but Reba and I spend a lot of time t'gether. I've even gotten caught preening her neck a couple a'times. We're so comfortable t'gether, she doesn't even have a cage of her own anymore. She hangs out on mine all day and sleeps on an outside perch at night. I need the whole board for stretchin' out on so there's no room for a girl in my cage!

You have yourself a good one, Jasper. Sorry about the loss t'day but it looked like the MLBs had fun anyway. Ya did, right?

Well, I had every intention of being here about a week ago to discuss our last baseball game. I had all the team pages up and ready but then my typist got called away and I've not managed to get her back to her desk on my behalf since. Because the MLBs have a game tomorrow, I managed to get computer privileges. Thank GOODNESS for baseball!!

We're taking on the Rainforest Raiders tomorrow. They're coming in fresh off a win so they'll likely going to have some spring in their step. I hope we're able to dance right on by them and take the WIN home with us this time.

How are u sweetie? Well, mom did it AGAIN! She hasn't sent my blogs out in over a week! She has been busy doing spring cleaning, scrubbing everything down & putting winter stuff away & getting out the summer stuff! It's a slow & tiring task for mom! She said it would go a little faster if she didn't have a large bird sitting on her hand! I disagree tho...how can I make sure she's doing it correctly if I'm not right in the middle of everything?!

How are u sweetie? I haven't been on BC the last few days coz mom has been very busy! I don't understand why blogging to my friends had to take a backseat...my social life should be mom's top priority! Well, I guess I'll let it slide this time, coz mom was helping my sissy! Sissy & her hubby are licenced foster parents, & received a long term placement on Friday...2 very sweet sisters ages 5 & 11. A month ago the girls spent a weekend at sissy's, & were very happy that they were being moved to her house! Their parents are both heroin addicts & have no desire to get clean! Mom & the 5 yr old bonded over pics of me, & she calls her Grammy, just like the other grandkids! The girls came with 3 carloads of stuff, so mom has been going over everyday to help sis get things put away & organized! Mom will be home all day today, so I'll have plenty of mommy & me time!
It's a good thing too, coz mom will be gone ALL DAY tomorrow! Sissy is taking mom's 9 yr old grandson & the 11 yr old girl to an amusement park for the school picnic, & mom will be watching the 3 younger kids! Mom will stay home all day Friday to make it up to me! I sure hope that means that I'll also get "sketties"!

Ur mom can't visualize my toes stuck in mom's nose, & my mom can't get the vision out of her head! She even dreams about it & it wakes her up rather quickly! Hehehe! It's a bummer about our game, I'm happy for our friends, but sad for us!

How are u sweetie? Nothing happening today...thank goodness! Mom spent the whole day at sissy's house yesterday, watching a 14 month old boy. My sissy watches him but wasn't available yesterday, so the little tyke's mom asked mom to watch him coz he loves mom! Mom watched him from 10am-5pm & only sat down once when she fed him, & swears she did 5 miles chasing him around! Mom was so exhausted that after she put me to bed, she went to bed at 8:30!

Mom is feeling much better! The cortisone finally kicked in & she has some relief in her shoulders & her nose is healing nicely! She said that she can breathe better out of the right side...but she said NO WAY will she let me Roto-Rooter her left nostril!

The MLB TEAM PAGE is ready!
Hey Jasper! What's been happening at your place? Did I hear something about gnawed wood or trim at your house? That sort of mischief is the most fun, isn't it. Kelly, she's taken up hanging up-side down on the frame of the closet doors (when they're open) and chunking away at the wood there. Mom says the place is slowly but surely looking rattier by the day thanks to the parrot beaks around here who won't chew on their collection of wood toys but rather on the trim and door jams. Hey, it's more entertaining to attack the "off limit" stuff than the things we're allowed to destroy, right?

As mentioned in the intro line, our new TEAM PAGE is created and ready for your inspection. So "hairy" wasn't the right word. You got me! Did you ever get to read the rest of the game? It's worth the read... Blue saved the day with his triple but then two, the birds that got on base before him helped save it too because without them there, we wouldn't have gotten the runs we needed to win.

Well, as is the norm when I stop by, there's always the topic of baseball to bring up. There's two things tonight;

1. You all are a great bunch of help, telling me that whatever everybody else thinks about a team page is alright with you! What do I do if nearly EVERYBIRDIE said the same thing; "Whatever everybirdie else wants." Well, since four definite yeses were mentioned, we'll go with the having a team page. It's purpose will be for posting all the team pictures as well as the games we've played and the schedule of when we're playing next. Any sort of practicing we do will still be done on at Kevlar Memorial Stadium. We want our presence felt there. Thank you to those of you who took the time to voice your thoughts and opinions on the subject. I appreciate that. (With the team page, it will be easy to read any part of the game you might've missed.)

2. We have a teammate who is celebrating a hatchday on Thursday: Miss Ruby, our Left Fielder! (35469) Let's join her in her 7th celebration.

Our fellow Macaw team is playing on Thursday against the Quaker Little Dragons. If you haven't got anything else to do, come cheer them on starting at 3 pm EST.

I'll let you know when the new team page is up and ready for visiting.

How are u sweetie? Mom only got a few blogs out yesterday, so she's sending the same blog with some new added to it! Mom got her cortisone injections in both of her shoulders yesterday, which she gets every 3 months. She usually gets some relief almost instantly, but her right shoulder actually feels worse today! Mom also went to her granddaughter's preschool graduation last evening! I had an exciting day today! It was mom's granddaughter Olivia's last day of preschool, & I got to go! Most of Livi's classmates came running up to mom at the graduation last night, very excited that I'm coming to their class today! Mom takes me to the preschool classes there every year, & I love seeing all the kids as much as they love seeing me! The only difficult part of any excursions, is mom getting me back into my carrier!

Mom is doing good today, but her nose is very sore! Mom has been giving me belly kisses for nearly 16 yrs, without incident! It's swollen on the right side & a bit bruised, even tho the damage was done on the inside! Because my nails & toes are so long, most of the damage was 2 inches down in the nasal cavity! The ER Doc said it was a good thing mom had previously had her adenoids removed, coz my nails would have destroyed the right one! Mom has to be rechecked in 2 weeks, or immediately if she starts bleeding again! She had to be cauterized in 4 different places & has to take an antibiotic! Mom said that the scariest part of having my toes stuck up her nose, was that she was very afraid my 2 toes would end up broken...mom was very relieved that my toes are absolutely fine! Mom refers to this incident as "NoseGate 2013"!
Mom doesn't want anyone to think that the ER Nurses & Docs were being discourteous, they were not! They were picturing a tiny pet bird, like a Budgie, not a large Macaw! Mom showed them a pic of me, they weren't expecting me to be so big! When mom said "Be glad I got her loose before I came in"! That's when they started laughing!

How are u sweetie? I didn't do my blogging yesterday, mom & I were involved in a bizarre, freak accident early yesterday afternoon! I was unscathed, but mom wasn't as lucky...she's fine now, but very sore!

When mom is holding me, I like her to kiss my belly! She kissed me on my birdie nose, then I told her KISS BAAALLY! At the same time she raised me up, I lifted my left leg, & somehow, my front 2 toes slipped into mom's right nostril & GOT STUCK! Of course I'm past due for a nail trim & my nails are extra long & very sharp! I was struggling to get my toes free & mom was howling in pain! Thinking it was a game, I quit struggling & started squealing! Mom gently grabbed my foot & turned her head & my toes came out!
My poor mom was gushing blood! She grabbed paper towels to try to control the bleeding, got me to step up onto her cane, squirted my foot, put me in my cage, & took off for the emergency room! To make matters worse, they couldn't help laughing when mom told them how the injury occurred! That was a story that they NEVER heard before! Mom spent 3 hrs at the emergency room & had to have her nostril cauterized! Mom is fine, but her nose is very sore! I don't think that I'll be getting belly kisses anytime soon!

This is a baseball note, one I would've liked to have delivered the same day as our game. My being BOTD that same day put that goal on hold. Anyway,

HOW ABOUT THAT GAME, HUH? A WIN on our first time out there! I'm not going to say I can't believe it because that would not be true. I had every faith that this team would pull their talents and resources together and play like a well-oiled machine. We did just that, even when it got a little hairy there in the 9th inning. Your double in the 8th was a beauty. Your good eye in the all important ninth got you the walk that put you in the right place at the right time. You were the run that gave us the game!

The MLBs don't have any games this coming week so enjoy the break. There's lots of good baseball to watch though so maybe we'll run into each other at the stadium.

And now a question:
Do you wish the MLBs had their own team page? A number of the teams do and I don't want you feeling disappointed that we don't if you'd like one and feel it could be useful. If it's not important to you, I'd like to know that as well.

Our next game is Tuesday, May 28. We'll be the visitors so we'll have to work our magic early and hold the lead through that final inning. Sound like a plan?

How are u sweetie? Nothing much happened here today, except mom stayed home all day! We had a beautiful day of 78! I spent a lot of time outside today, but didn't get to drive my car, coz I don't really like to be out in the direct sun! Mom swears that I can smell when rain is coming, coz when it got real cloudy & looked like it would rain, I started freaking out & wouldn't let her take me off the porch! I ran up her arm & scrambled onto her back & told her NOOOOO, I hold on to mom's shirt, pant, & gently flap my wings, while on her back...mom calls it my rain dance I wouldn't get off her back & onto her hand until she went back inside! Mom calls Mom told me it was not raining, but I wasn't taking her word about it! I DO NOT like OUTSIDE shower baths!

How are u sweetie? Mom must REALLY be guilt-ridden! She's still falling all over herself to take care of my every desire! She held me & played with me until she had to leave for her Drs appt, then got me out of my cage as soon as she returned! Tho, mom was very weepy when she got back. The vet's office had called her, her precious Chloe's ashes were back, mom stopped there to pick her up. Chloe's urn is a beautiful decorator jar. Now mom has her precious Chloe back home forever!

I knew exactly how I would cheer my mom up! First, I gave her some big beakie kisses, told her LOVE U, then proceeded to tell her all about my game! MOM, WE WON OUR 1ST GAME! IT WAS REALLY CLOSE THO! THE GREYS PLAYED THEIR HEARTS OUT, & THEY ARE GOOD FRIENDS, SO AS HAPPY AS I WAS FOR US, I WAS SAD FOR THEM! Mom smiled & gave me a cuddle & some kisses, & said she was very proud of me! Not for winning, but for being a good sport & thinking of my friends' feelings!

The school across the street was having their annual carnival, so mom took me over so I could gawk at all the kids & say HI! I was a regular birdie ambassador! I was on my best behavior! I kept saying HI, did my tricks, let a bunch of kids pet me & gave out a couple kisses to a couple brave souls, but mostly to mom! Mom bought a couple pieces of pizza, so I lost interest in the crowd of people & focused on the food! Mom stuck me on her shoulder so she could carry our pizza, coz mom needs her cane to walk! I was sooooo focused on the food that I was begging on the way back to our house! I'm not sure about u little guys, but when we macaws beg, we drop our heads, flatten our bodies & "gently" flap our wings! The entire walk back, I kept saying MMMMMM in her ear, & each flap I bopped her on the same ear! When we got back into our house, she couldn't hear out of her left ear for a little while! Hehehe, but I had a great time! YES, it's another great day to be me! & yes, the pizza was delicious!

MAJOR LEAGUE BEAK'S FIRST GAME...
coming right up!

Friday, May 17 is this new team's debut performance. While it might be tempting to be nervous, let's not let the butterflies get the best of us. Let's take the field with confidence, as if we've been there a hundred times and know each other's every move. Let's let our big energy and soaring team spirit carry the day so that we come away happy with whatever the outcome.

Jasper, our ruler of the right field! I can hardly wait to see how you claim that stretch of the outfield and make it YOURS. I just know you're going to dominate the territory and keep every ball that tries to roam there out of the district. May your throwing wing rest well tonight so that it's in its finest form tomorrow. Oh, FYI, the right fielder for the Greyt Grey Wings is Raffikki. I'm sure you've seen him around town. Well, tomorrow you'll be passing him frequently as we return to the barracks for another chance to load up the bases and stock up on runs. (I'm thinking positive here.)

...thanks to all of your flock for your congrats on my page! I don't think anybody gets tired of hearing that! Don't ya just love this time of year, it holds the hope of life rejuvenating itself, and everything smell so clean and fresh, and new birth and fresh growth is all round us! Art and LaLo's teams play each other tomorrow, and dad has an important doctor appointment, but will have some friends covering for them! If ya cancel at the VA Clinic, it can takes months to get re-appointed! For fall those we haven't already thanked for BOTD, thank you! Give my love to all in your happy home, see ya tomorrow...

Thursday June 6 MLBs vs Rainforest Raiders

I'll be emailing the entire season schedule but wanted to let you know about this week's game birdsonally.

While we won't be playing tomorrow (Monday, May 13), the Opening Ceremonies are sure to be some prime time entertainment so I encourage you to attend. Are you still in need a ride to the field? It's no problem to pick you up. I can swing by here after my stop at Peppy's place.

Hey, no worries about baseball on Monday. We don't play until FRIDAY!! But I'll be happy to pick you so you can come watch the first game with me and Simon. The Opening Ceremonies are always so good. I think there's to be a fly over by The Blue Angels even. Anyway, here's the team memo I'm delivering tonight;

I've got exciting news!
The MAJOR LEAGUE BEAKS' first game is on FRIDAY, May 17!!

If you look at the baseball page in the Profile section under My Motto, you'll see a list of teams with numbers beside them. The MLB team is numbered TEN under the TALON LEAGUE. That means anywhere in the schedule that you see #10, we're playing! Don't worry though about hunting through that list of paired digits, a written out schedule is being worked on and that's what I'll share with you when the Commissioner has it ready. I just wanted to let you know that our FIRST GAME is a week from tomorrow!! YIPPEE!!

To all my dear friends, I won't be on the BC the next few days, other than to give Luigi his BOTM vote. Mom's heart is very heavy with grief. Our dog Chloe crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning around 10am. Chloe was a wonderful dog & she & mom loved each other very much. She will be greatly missed. Chloe was diagnosed with lung cancer a month ago. Today, May 6th, was her 9th birthday.

So Jasper...
Did you find the perfect bat and the right mitt on your shopping excursion today? Bet you were turning heads in that car. Wonder how many envious guy birds walked into a light pole while gawking at you and that car!!

I read about Sam's BBQ and thought that was the neatest idea. I've been around to the team to leave the following memo which includes an invite to the get together. Hopefully our timing will be good and we'll run into each other there.

A couple of things I want to share pertaining to baseball.
First; the OFFICIAL FIRST DAY is now MONDAY, MAY 13th at 3:00 PM [E] at KEVLAR Memorial Stadium (239836). Opening Day festivities will begin at 2:30 pm, which you'll surely want to be a part of even if our team is not playing that day. (I don't know if we are or aren't- the schedule's not been released yet.)

ALSO, there's an ALL TEAMS B.B.Q. at The Silver Sluggers' Team Page tomorrow, Sunday May 5 (255813). I'd love to see as many of our team enjoying this day of camaraderie as possible.

How are u sweetie! Another beautiful day of 72 degrees! It will be in the low 70s for the next week! I got to drive my car twice today & mom took me to the school across the street to say hi to the kids waiting to be picked up! I told them hi & barked at them, played peekaboo, danced, & showed them how I play dead! Mom owed me some fun & excitement, coz she scared the crap out of me! Because of my nasty hormonal biting this year, mom always tells me she's going to pull my beak off! My beak has been pealing lately. Mom got a hold of a piece by the tip & pulled. She was holding in her hand a piece that was almost 1/2 inch wide & 2 inches long! I let out a loud squawk & started flapping! I touched my tongue to my beak tip. WHEWWWW! I thought she pulled my beak off! I think I'll take her a little more seriously from now on! Penne pasta sketties, a hunk of broccoli stalk, whole wheat bread & Granny Smith Apples for dinner! I had apple & cranberry oatmeal for breakfast, YUM!

You've been just awesome about spring training participation. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm. You're looking so good in form, endurance and ability, what say you take the day off tomorrow and just relax. I wish I had a gift certificate to a spa to give you — you so deserve a couple of hours of pampering!

I've not heard yet what the playing schedule is but I'll be in touch once I do.

How are u sweetie? Sorry I've been AWOL these last few days! Mom had one of her delightful cluster migraines that lasted for 5 days! She's starting to feel human again, but feels like she received a lobotomy!

It's such a beautiful day here! For the next week the temps will be in the 70s with no rain in sight! YAYYYYY! I'll get plenty of car driving time! I have been getting plenty of fruits & veggies, but now since mom is feeling a little better, she'll cook some meals for me again! I think she'll make spaghetti today, coz for the last 3 days I've been saying "eat sketties"!

Glad to hear that u had a wonderful Hatchday! How sweet of ur mom to get u a Hatchday cake, cake is delicious! How do u like our baseball pics? Reba did such a fantastic job!

How greyt there was a toy with your colors. The card tags are the first parts of our toys to go too, but usually not before the toy gets to the cage! You are GOOD. I bet the castle staff LOVED having two macaws.

DJ LUIGI here to tell everybirdy that I will be running for BOTM starting tomorrow. I wanted to greet all of you unique birds. I am a peach-faced lovebird, even childish but with a caring heart I gained from my mom. Through this message I send to each one of you wonderful birds, I wanted to thank the ones who helped my throughout this new year for gaining confidence in myself. I also thank the ones who helped me achieve my 500 mark to participate for BOTM. My reason to run BOTM is not for the winning, but for the message I bring to each one of you throughout the campaign. I also came to mention that the month of may is the month where mom is very busy with her schoolwork, where assignments and summatives are due. Very clumsy of me to pick may but however, I will continue with my campaign and thank the birds everyday for the votes. Although I may not most times respond your questions other than voting, it doesn't mean I quit on you, it simply means that mom is very busy but I will blog back "thanks for the vote! So glad you had a great hatchday. Sounds like a lot of fun, and I have to admit the fruit and the cake was mighty tasty. Your mom knows how to do hatchdays right!
Well, Mom left for zumba as usual this morning, but when she got to the gym she found out her least favorite teacher (really awful) was subbing for her most favorite teacher. (kind of like if Dad tried to sub for my mom). So she along with most of the class turned around and left!
So did Mom come right home to spend time with me? Nooo! She went shopping at Wally World for new work out clothes. Now I ask you, does that sound right to you? At least she did take me out for a sunbath as soon as she got home (only a little earlier that she would have anyway), and then we shared butternut squash ravioli for lunch. So I guess I should forgive her; what do you think?

What a great team pic, I love the colors! Today mom did a tour for kids from Potter County, so they must have left home around 6:30 to be at the museum by 10. It's really far away. They loved the dinosaurs, and even the teacher took a ton of pictures. It was their first visit to the Carnegie museum! Then mom stopped to pick up stuff for the Italian dinner tomorrow evening for Nghi's parents. They canceled today because they had to fill out some paperwork. Hope you are having a great day!
