The postman asked me to take care of his 2 birds over the long weekend at the beginning of September. When he and his wife came back to pick up the birds Monday evening, he saw how well TiPaul was getting along and decided he would do better with us. He is a great bird, but we are still getting to know each other. ***UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 6th *** Just over 2 weeks ago, TiPaul decided to jump off his cage again, but this time he was not so lucky. Having less feathers than the average CAG since he breaks them off, and having virtually no tail, his balance is way off. His chest area opened, where he had fallen in the past while with his second owner, who let him heal naturally. I took him to the vet, where he had to be put under and stitched up properly. He was also put on antibiotics for 2 weeks. Well, within of a few days, I thought I had a new bird in the home. He started talking, his firts words being *hello, I love you*, he started clicking like my other CAGs, and he started playing, shredding a cardboard box, and just being a fantastic bird. He has never bitten my partner nor me, and he plays well with Pepper, my other male CAG. Yesterday was 2 weeks from his surgery and we went back to the vet. He is doing great - he has healed perfectly - the stitches will fall out on their own. It seems he did this once before with the first owner too, but was hospitalized and taken care of. You cannot begin to realize how happy I am that he found us and his permanent home.

Hi! My name is TiPaul and Cubird at the Derby Milonga

I am a Congo African Grey from Entrelacs, QC.

nope

14 years old   M

Congo African Grey

We're still working on that one. UPDATE: He is taking food from my hands and loves almonds, peanuts and nutriberries along with fresh fruits and veggies.

On top of his cage, walking the floors and on my shoulder

He is still not settled in completely, as he only came to live with us 2 weeks ago. UPDATE: He is acting like a CAG - loves shredding apart his cardboard boxes

She is patient with me and lets me go about fitting in with the other parrots at my own pace. She also insisted that my old cage be delivered here, because I am used to it. UPDATE: It has been 3 months since I have come to live here, and I am so happy - I know what a real flock is all about.

Feather picking and biting his nails.

If it's cardboard, and it's a box, let me at it..

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope you are having a wonderful day! It's still very pretty here and only in the 80's. Rain is suppose to come back for the weekend and we sure could use it! We are not use to being so dry for so long. Everything is yellow and I want it to be green again!
We are getting laundry done today. Mom has to work tonight but she'll have Friday night off. She is going to the library later to get me more story books and she will see what movies they have in. Friday movie night is my favorite! Even if the movie isn't good I'll still have popcorn!
Enjoy the day and I hope you get to do lots of fun things!

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope you are having a perfect kind of day! I just finished some apple, cinnamon, pecan oatmeal! I must say I think this is my favorite so far! I like all the oatmeal that mom makes but the pecans were a surprise!
The rain storm we had yesterday did not help with the fire on the other side of the mountain. I guess it made it worse since it caused more wind. I feel so bad for all those people.
Mom went back to work last night and of course there was tons of work waiting for her. There is a back up person but she is in the garden and they don't want her to do anything but the garden. Kind of makes it useless to have a back up if they are not going to be able to do the work! Mom will catch up eventually.
Believe it or not, they already have the Christmas jammies out for the little ones. Mom says the baby that can wear it has not even been born yet! Talk about planning ahead! The Halloween ones are out too and all the Autumn decor. That stuff is nice to look at but I don't think anyone is ready to think about Christmas yet.
Enjoy the day!! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

  Hey Ti Paul
It looks like lockdown for me this weekend...My mommy and daddy are going house hunting again. They are looking to buy a house by the beach or in a cool area. The heat where we live is brutal! I get to be bored and count the bars on my cage while blowing spit bubbles heehee! Anyway it's good hearing from you...

Thank you for liking my skin brother Circling Eagles poem...Theres a picture of him in my gallery. The young boy dancing in a powwow.
During this time period he wrote the poem.
Without even thinking of what he would write about. His heart opened up and all his feelings came out...
When the powwows starting turning commercial a lot of our friends from different tribes and reservations from different states slowly went away.
The saddness ripped through everyones hearts and it felt like our hearts where being ripped out of all of us...
Alot of these youngsters grew up together meeting at Powwows and sitting on the bleachers on cold nights sharing blankets and drinking hot chocolate and eating frybread together...

Elders from different tribes would sit together and talk about thier traditions and share coffee and frybread and tell stories.

When everyone got up to dance in the sacred circle there was a presence of love and pride so strong it was overwhelming in a good way.
Now the only real traditional powwows are held on our reservations.
We all miss those days so much.We know it will never be the same.

This weekend I will be in lockdown while my mommy and daddy go house hunting.
I probably won't be back until Monday...

Happy TGIF

  Hey Ti Paul
Happy Thursday !!!
As I promised I am going to share my big skin brother's Poem...
His name is Circling Eagle Bigfoot from my Grandfathers clan.
The Elk Horn Scraper Clan...This clan in my tribe are heavy duty medicine men and they are also match makers.

Circling Eagle was 8 years old when he wrote this poem. This poem brought him to be SO-Cals Indian student of the year...

This poem is over 20 years old and has won the SO-CAL state finals in the short poems division. It is very heart felt and it is what a young Native American boy can see from behind his eyes. At the time he wrote the poem there was great saddness because of the change in our Traditional Pow Wow circuit because it starting catering to the by standers who made it commercial more than traditional. My family was raised on the PowWow trail and they all saw our traditional ways being put a side.Leaving a mere memory of the good times.Todays Pow wows will never be the same.

Here's the poem
I'm just an Indian boy Written by Circling Eagle Bigfoot

I'm just an Indian Boy
I struggle to stay alive
So my traditional ways can survive

I'm just an Indian boy
I walk the narrow read mans road
I try to stay strong and bold

I'm just an Indian boy
The Elders say I must fight to live another day
That is the only way

I'm just an Indian boy
I hold my head up proud
And walk like Thunder thats loud

I'm just an Indian boy
I must fight for my people and defend
So our traditional ways will not end
I will always defend

I'm just an Indian boy
My eyes are filled with tears
I'm still a young boy with fears

I'm just an Indian boy
Just like the elders say
Sometimes are enemies have to kill us
Because they can't kill our spirit

I'm just an Indian boy
I will fight on for my people forever

By Circling Eagle Bigfoot.

Have an awesome day to all my friends and relations

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope your day is going great! I've been out sitting with mom all morning and I'm having a wonderful time. I chewed on her shoelace, preened a bit. Chewed on her jeans, preened a bit. I am in a chewing, preening kind of mood today! This molt I am going through is horrendous! Mom is wondering how wild Amazons fly when they lose 4 tail feathers while molting! I can't fly so how should I know??
My play cage was all nice and clean when I came out this morning. Mom said there were so many fuzzy feathers everywhere that it took forever! When she finally finished up the cage, Merlin went over and threw up right in front of it! Hairballs!! Guess he didn't want to feel left out with all the cleaning going on!
There was suppose to be no rain this week but mom went to the car wash so of course it rained this morning! I just hope it continues on over the mountains and rains over there. There are so many fires there and they could really use some rain!
I hope you have a very fun day! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope you are having a lovely day! It's been nice here so far. It's moms last day of vacation. Bummer! She has to go back tomorrow night and I am not happy about that. She tells me we will have plenty of time to spend together so not to worry.
We are still working on the Linen closet. There is lots of stuff in there! We have been able to get rid of a bunch of stuff so far and it's looking good!
We read that we are suppose to have 3 big snow storms between December and February this winter. It was in the Farmer's almanac. They were pretty right on with the summer prediction so we tend to believe them. Not looking forward to that. At least when you know ahead of time you can prepare.
I hope you have a wonderful day! Leaving a vote and a big hug just for you!

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope you had the most wonderful day ever! It was nice here. We are still having sunshine but it's not really hot.
We spent the day cleaning. It took forever to clean the mini blinds but at least that does not have to be done too many times a year! We washed the drapes and cleaned the fireplace too. The living room looks good now and tomorrow we will pick another room to do.
Dad come home this afternoon. He has to take that 34 hour break so he'll be here until Wednesday. He's already gone to sleep since he was up all night. He did make sure to give me a goldfish before he went to sleep! Do I have him well trained or what? hehehehehehe
Tonight mom and I are going to watch Star Trek Into Darkness. I like that movie and we think Zachary Quinto is fabulous! He has done Leonard Nimoy proud!
Enjoy your evening! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

I hope you all enjoyed your Sunday. It was quiet around here. Mom had some stuff to get done and I just hung out and played for a while. Then I wanted to sit with mom so we did that for a few hours. It was fun!
We are having a short vacation for the next 4 days so I suppose I will be doing lots of supervising. Dad will be home tomorrow. He has to deliver in Seattle and then take a 34 hour break. There are very strict rules about how many hours he can drive and how much of a break he has to take. There is a computer in the truck that tells him exactly how many hours he has left to drive in a day! The truck will actually shut off if he goes over! Such amazing technology!!!
Have a great night!

  Wednesday Flitzer
Hi from Flitzer.
--
Dad spent most of Tuesday helping Uncle Geno with his White German Shepherd, "Lucy".
Lucy had a growth on her leg and needed surgery.
--
Lucy hates the vet and (being a big dog) can be hard to handle in these situations.
--
Although the surgery went well, Lucy had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia.
We got her in Geno's truck, but she wouldn't come out - even into her home or yard.
It took a long time of patience and attention - we finally got her (reluctantly) out of the truck.
--
Have a great day. ~Wings Up~

I hope your day has been just fantastic! It's warm and cloudy here so you know what that means! Muggy! Don't like that much but it doesn't happen much.
The guy came to fix the dryer today. It was the plastic part that covers the drum that was making it squeak. Mom already knew that since she watch a youtube video and had already opened it up to take a look. It is not squeaking anymore and it is drying the stuff so it's all good!
It's our weekend now but I don't know what we are going to do yet. There are lots of chores to get done so I'm sure we will be doing that for a while. I think playing with me should be high on the list too! Actually, I think it should be the only thing on the list!

Pecked a V4U...I appreciate whenever you can stop by....Thanks again everyone who comes by daily with their vote for me to be BOTM..They are all greatly appreciated..Hope you all are having a nice Tuesday...Today I will be talking about another nice place to visit for some while they are here in the Poconos..It is the Cherry Valley Vineyards Winery..In 1912 an Italian Man came to the U.S. in search of the America Dream..After meeting his wife Mary and moving to the Pocono's he started Sorrenti's Cherry Valley Vineyards in 1981.Among one of the first to attempt growing grapes in a climate where others deemed it impossible and making wines of fruit and the local local Vitis Lambrisca grapes.Sorrenti set the bar for future wine makers & wineries in the area.Since then his son Nicolas has studied both at the vineyard and at US Davis in California perfecting his skills as winemaker. He has refined the taste and elegance of the wines at Cherry Valley Vineyards and has won over one hundred awards as results. The wine available in Pa.may sound unfamiliar at first. Names like Marachel Foch, Boco Noir, Leon Millot and Chambourin are used to identify the types of grapes we grow in Pa.The winery is known for its variety of wine and they offer a range of flavors to suit palate. They make known varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet and Pinot Grigio as well as a variety of fruit wines and Carbonated Spumantes for those who like it sweet. Some go to the vineyards to enjoy a sampling of their fine wines. They offer tasting 7 days a week and their staff will be happy to serve you.Aside from wine tasting & tours they plan events for their visitors to attend, like their annual Grape Stomp& Harvest Party.Every Sunday from May-Sept. is Sangria Sunday, with fresh made Sangria, free live music and light fare..In 2010 Mary & Dominic Sorrenti sold 187 acres of land to the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge. His was the first parcel in the reserve and the land has been proclaimed to host hundreds of unique species of wildlife and is home to the Bog Turtle. The entrance to the park, is located alongside of the winery. Their guests are invited to partake in exploring the reserve & learning about the significance, diversity & importance of the Wildlife Refuge...This Cherry Hill Vineyards Winery & Wildlife Refuge is located in beautiful Cherry Valley, with some of the most breath taking grounds in the area...Tomorrow I will take you to yet another place here in the Pocono's that is of much interest to many people that come here for the visit...Many birdie wing hugs....CYDNEY :o)

I hope you are having a great day! The Bad Mom went out to get stuff done for the car yesterday and was gone for a long time! I was not happy at all! Then this morning the Bad Mom drove Jennifer down to her dad's house! She was gone for a long time again!! She really should know that she needs to be here doing what I want to do!!!! Anyway that is the reason I didn't get any notes out yesterday. The car had to have a smog check, then mom went and bought an expensive sticker and then got the oil changed. She tells me it's all important stuff but it was very boring around here with just dad and the cat to keep me company! I expect her to make it up to me somehow. Maybe some corn bread!

Thanks for stopping by...Pecked a V4U...Today my campaign blog will take you to another place of family fun here in the Poconos..Hoping it will be of interest to some.....The name of the place is Costa's Family Fun Park...Located just 3 miles from Lake Wallenpaupack in Hawley, Pa...Costa's family fun park offers activities and food for the family...Your family can enjoy a round of miniature golf on their challenging and fun 18-hole course or practice your golf games by hitting a basket of balls at their driving range. Take a swing at their stadium batting cages. They have slow and fast pitch softball and baseball pitches for little and major leaguers..Create your own field of dreams as you watch that ball soar over the home run fence under the lights..Bring out the NASCAR fan in everyone by racing at the go-kart track..We even have two-seaters so the very young can feel the thrill of victory....Right next to the go-kart track children can enjoy the slides and ball pit or race around the track on their own pedal kart...Moms and Dad like this area too. Its a great place to relax while the kids are having a blast...Their arcade offers classic pinball and skee ball as well as games for small children...Everyone that plays these games can earn tickets redeemable for fun prizes...The snack bar at the park offers family favorites such as burgers, salads, kids meals(with a toy), teen favorites, nachos, mozarella sticks & chicken tenders...Some of the menu also for dessert soft ice cream, hand dipped Hershey's ice cream or create yourself a custom sundae with all of the favorite toppings or enjoy a homemade milkshake..Plus if you enjoy funnel cake try some of theirs...The best way to enjoy the park is with their wristband package but activities can be purchased individually...Open weekend in Spring and Fall and daily in the height of the Summer....This is a fairly small activity park but is enjoyed by many when visiting the Poconos especially if you are spending some time at Lake Wallenpaupack...I would like to thank everyone who votes for me daily....Have a nice Saturday ...Tomorrow I will take you to another place of interest that many people visit while being in the area...Many birdie wing hugs....CYDNEY :o)

Sure hope you are having nice weather.. We are right now..Nice and cool only need maybe a light jacket in the evening..Pecked a V4U..Well today I am able to get on and do my campaign blog a bit earlier...Yipee!!! they are done working on the lines so it can be much earlier tomorrow...It will be a part 1 and finish part 2 tomorrow...Hope you all enjoy...The subject will be Lake Wallenpaupack located near Hawley, Pa.......Lake Wallenpaupack is a fresh water lake in Pennsylvania..It is the third largest lake in Pennsylvania measuring 52 miles of shore line, 13 miles in length, 60 feet deep at points and has in excess of 5,700 acres of surface water. It was created in 1926 by PPL the Pennsylvania Power & Light Company for hydroelectric purposes as well as flood control; however, it is best known as one of several major recreational destinations in the Pocono Mountains. Is is located near the city of Hawley and includes the counties of Pike and Wayne located in Northeastern Pa.The Lenape Indians named the area "Wallenpaupack"which means"The stream of swift and slow water."William Penn later owned the land and then deeded it to his son.Who then gave it to James Wilson One of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
In order to create the lake, PPL constructed a dam on Wallenpaupack Creek at Wilsonville and a levee.(Tapton Dike)The project 2,700 men almost 2 years to complete and 7 months for the reservoir to fill after the dam was closed off. The land of Wilsonville and the surrounding area in the valley was purchased by PPL from about 100 owners at about $20 and acre and most of the property was razed or moved. Some houses remained, and as the valley was flooded the water was so clear that one could see the houses under the water. In all 17 miles of roads and utility poles were rerouted and Purdytown Cemetery had to be relocated. The former town of Wilsonville now lies under the water near the dam. PPL manages 3,300 acres of land around the lake as well. While homeowners have access rights they must apply for permits things such as landscaping to installing exterior lights and cannot cut down vegetation to improve their view of the lake. A provision to keep the man-made lake natural...Tomorrow I will continue part 2 with the recreations that the lake has...Hope you will find this article of interest..I want to thank everybody who votes for me daily to be BOTM..Have a wonderful day..Lots of birdie wing hugs..Love, CYDNEY :o)

Mom had to turn off her computer just a minute ago right in the middle of my blogging. Time Warner Cable was here checking the lines in the back yard. They let her know so she wouldn't lose anything. Now we are back.

Well, I got my sunbath this morning, and we got out there nice and early for good temps. At around 9:30 Mom realized I was climbing into her lap, which is the "grabbing zone", and next thing I knew she had popped me into the carrier. It happened so fast I never even got a chance to nip her, let alone actually land a bite. However since we were earlier than usual the air was pleasant and we stayed out for nearly an hour. And when we came back in I played in the carrier for several minutes just in case Mom decided to got back out.

And Yay! Mom's errands that were planned for today went down in flames when she got totally buried in a book by her new favorite author, Ilona Andrews. I guess I have to say that is my favorite author as well, since her reading spot is my room. Now she will just have to do all that stuff next Thursday.

And hey! It's that time of year again. Aunt Paula is holding her annual raffle and fundraiser. Mom already bought her tickets because we always win a nice toy for me. Last year's was the best yet.

  Hello TiPaul~
I hope you are having a wonderful day! It's been very nice here this morning. Dad closed the window up in the bedroom because Merlin was howling again!hahahahahaha Mom told him welcome to her world!
Cleaning going on around here today! Mom was doing the bathrooms while dad moved my cage out and swept up my latest art project. Guess I'm going to have to spend the day making a new one! I really didn't like him moving the cage with me in it. He even used the evil vacuum when he was done sweeping. I am not very happy with dad right now!
Our dryer is squeaking so they are going to come over and take a look at it later. Mom knows what it is already since she opened it up to look. She watched a youtube video! It's a plastic thing that covers the drum. It's a very old dryer so we are hoping to get a new one. At least it still works!
It's probably best that your mom got a new car if the old one was that damaged. I know it's not a good thing when you hadn't planned on spending the money but at least she will be safe when she is out driving!
It's awesome of you guys to take in those birds. Are there a lot of rescues up there? I imagine it must be very sad for the parronts to have to let them go. I know they feel much better about it since they know they are safe. Why didn't they have cages??? You would think they would have sent cages with them. You did say there was a cockatiel size cage. I hope they hadn't been living in that! Perhaps they only went in there to sleep!
I hope you have a wonderful day and get to do lots of fun things!
Leaving a vote and a big hug!

I hope you are having a great day! It's been nice around here. Mom went off for a while to the market. She got me some lovely papaya, mango and almonds! I had the papaya right away! I do love papaya!
Dad is home and has been watching a movie this afternoon so I don't know if I will get to watch a movie later or not. It's okay since he's not around much and I can be nice and let him have the TV for a while. I'll still have my story later!
I hope you have a wonderful evening! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

  HI TI PAUL!!!!
Pecked a V4U...Today is another late start..Where we live in this gated community they are working on some of our lines from Blue Mountain Cable, Phone & Internet and we are not having any service on and off until they are done on Thursday....So I have another place that many visit when stopping in the Poconos for a day...Hope you will find it interesting...Claws"N"Paws Animal Park near Lake Ariel in the Poconos..This a small zoo with about 120 animals large and small. There are a few things that makes Claws"N"Paws a must do on your next trip to the Poconos. Some of them are Animal Shows thru Labor Day, Allowed to Hand-Feed Giraffe & Lory Parrots, Dinosaur Outpost with Fossil Hunts, Dino Dig, Petting Zoo and Turtle Town...They have a variety of animals including a number of large cats, a reptile house, monkeys, apes, birds and small animals like beaver, otter, African porcupine and many more..The Zoo is much bigger than you would think it would be considering the location. The nice thing about it being a smaller zoo you can get closer to the animals than at a big national zoo. The animals are not in small cages but enclosures that you can get a good look at them. In fact some of the animals come right up to the fence and you almost can touch them. The gibbons are a highlight of the zoo as they go hooting and swinging around. Claws"N"Paws has a daily schedule 0f animal demonstrations and feedings. They also have petting area with farm animals that you can feed. Dingo dig activity and giraffe feeding where they give the kids and adults slices of carrots to hold. The giraffe will bend down over the fence and stick out its rough tongue to take the carrot out of your hand. This is a special experience that you do not want to miss doing. They also have a Lory parrot feeding where you get inside the parrot enclosure and feed the Lories. They They will come and stand on your arms waiting for you to give them the food..But there is specific times times during the day for the feedings so you need to check with the zoo attendants the times..They are opened 7 days a week from May 1st through mid October and no show after Labor Day....Tomorrow we will be talking about some other place here in the Poconos that people like to spend time...Hope you are enjoying the campaign blogs..I want to thank everyone that votes for me daily..It is appreciated very much...Hoping your day has been a nice one..Lots of birdie wing hugs to you...Love, CYDNEY :o)

Pocono Zip Racer 1,000 ft dual racing zip lines is now open and park of the park. Each course consists of elements between tree platforms that are constructed of rope, cable and wood steps, Tru Blues and rope ladders.Be prepared to see the world from above with the highest point of the advanced course being, over 40 feet off the ground. Pocono Tree Ventures aerial Ropes Course and Pocono Zip Racer are open year-around weather permitting. New for 2015 Tru Climb! They have turned 2 of their trees into climbing "Walls". Climbers are harnessed and securely attached to a Tru Blue Auto Belay which lowers them smoothly to the ground after each climb. They also have Blue Lightning which is the only summer tubing facility in the Pocono Mountains. I hope you are having a wonderful day! It's going to be a billion degrees here again!hahahahahaha One month of summer to go and hopefully my rain will come back!
Russell Wilson is going to be a Seahawk until 2019!!! I guess he knew how much this 12th bird wanted him to stay! He is going to get a gazillion dollars! Well close to that I think! Now we have to worry about whether or not they have the money to keep the other players! I'm sure they make a whole bunch of money on merchandise so I think they can afford it! The players jersey's are 100$ each and this state is filled with people wearing them!
Training camp opens today and Taima is there! I can't wait to see the pictures! I follow him on Facebook and love to see all his pictures. Wish I had a wing span like that!!!
Have a great day! Leaving a vote and a big hug!

Navajo code talkers conclusion
Recruiters visited the Navajo rez and selected 30 code talkers. One dropped out so 29 started the program. Many of these were young Navajos who never left the Rez,making the transition to military life more difficult.Yet they perserved.
They would work night and day helpingto create the code.Once the first 29 were finished, two remained behind to train future Navajo code talkers.
The program was successful. The entire Navajo Nation had 50,000
people.By the end of the war 420 Navajo men worked as code talkers !!!

I salute all the Navajo Code talkers and our U.S soldiers. Please say a prayer for our military. They work hard to protect all of us and our freedom !!!

Seahawks training camp starts tomorrow and Taima the hawk is coming over for a meet and greet! Wish we could get up there to see him but mom has to work the whole weekend. Everyone is very excited for football to start again. It seems rather dull around here without it!

  Hey Ti Paul
Happy Thursday !!! Did I throw you off with those questions ??? It was all in fun and games heehee !!! I did say I was going to surprise you...Raffi got every answer right !!! Congrats Raffi!

In honor of our U.S military...Today I'm going to talk about Navajo Code Talkers. They are from the Navajo nation...

In U.S history the things that happened to us Native Americans were tragic.Invaders and settlers took most of our lands and misunderstood our culture and killed us in the thousands.
Then during World War 2 ,the U.S goverment needed our Navajo Brothers to help. And though they suffered greatly from this same government our Navajo brothers proudly answered the call to duty.

Communication is very essential during any War.
Codes were often used, but broken. In 1942 a man named Philip Jonhston thought of a code that would be un breakable by the enemy.
A code based on the Navajo Language...

Be here for the conclusion tommorow...
Thank you for your votes

What color represents death ???
What color represents life ???
What color represents power ???

Who is MAH-HEY-YOH ???
What are the four directions ???
What is sage and cedar used for and how is it used ???

What are the different catagories in Powwow dancing ???

Whats the difference between traditional Powwows and non traditional Powwows ???

What two types of Powwows are there ???

Why do we have a special day for our Elders ???

At what age does a boy become a warrior ???

What reservation do we come from and where is it ???

Who are those awesome birds in my photo gallery ???

Who is that boy dancing in a Powwow ???

What is the favorite food of all Native American tribes ???

Put on your thinking caps and give me your answers.

  Hey Ti Paul
Happy Tuesday !!!

The puter is fixed for now and my skin sis will be typing my blogs for me as I dictate to her while I'm sitting on my mommys shoulder preening my mommy's hair.

Thank you all for sending your heart felt prayers and get well wishes to my mommy. The surgery went well and was way better than her last surgery. Now she's resting her shoulder and making the skin sibs do everything.Heehee !!!

My blogs will be short and they will get to the point. I'm trying to squeeze in as much as I can for my campaine and for you...

Today I'm taking you to a very touchy subject. Something most hoomans don't like to think or talk about but it's real and part of our circle of life...

Traditionl Northern Cheyenne Burials.

In my tribe the color white is the color of death. We use white when our loved ones go to the other side.
Burial clothes are made with soft white doe hide and the moccasins are baby soft.
The reason for this is when we all go to the other side we walk into the light where its all white and bright. When we arrive in the consel of elders with MAH-HEY-YOH we arrive being born again. Thats the reason why we use soft buckhide as soft as a baby's skin.

Black is the color of power and red is the color of life that runs through our veins.

When a tribal member or loved one goes to the other side we bathe them for their journey and bless them. We mourn for four days and nights, Some of us may cut ourselfs to ease the pain of the loss and some of us cut our hair to ease the pain of our loss. In my tribe long hair is an honor to have especially with the men.

After four day's and nights of mounrning we bury our departed one sitting up so when they arrive in the counsel of elders they will be sitting in the sacred circle with them. Mah-Hey-Yoh will then judge the our departed who has moved on to the other side.

Our tribal medicine man and holy man will then pray for four day's and nights. After they recieve thier answer they will tell us which consel or departed ones will go into. All of our departed will forever be happy and not suffer. We will then have a celebration with lots of food for them.

This is part of my world that not too many people outside of my tribe know about...
I'm sharing this with you.
Remember death is part of life in our circle. Be good,Do good and never lie or hurt or harm anyone. Always listen to our creator and obey his words to us. If you listen closely will hear a soft gentle loving voice whispering in your ear. You will know it's the creator. And also always remember in time of war when we are forced to kill we will be held in high honor here in this world and up in the stars where we all will be. There's never an end to life.
There's always a new beginning...

Thank you for your votes
Love Panther

Happy TGIF !!!

Before I say anything I would like to introduce you to my second oldest brother Circling Eagle Bigfoot...He's the dancer on my profile picture. My mommy made everything he's wearing.
We all call him Eagle for short heehee !!!
Eagle is my second oldest skin bro. And on this picture he was only 7 years old. The elders in my family taught him to dance the right way.
He's a Northern Traditional dancer and being on the Powwow Trail all his life he started winning in Powwow dance competitions all over the US.
He is also well known and respected throughout the Powwow circut and Native American land.

My mommy went to Bank of America in Norco and she saw a painting of him on the banks wall.
It said young Native American boy. My mommy contacted the artist Francis Frazier who took a picture of him dancing and she said she had been working on painting his picture for many years and his picture traveled all over the U.S with her...
Anyway my mommy wanted to buy the picture from Francis but she said it was sold to a customer who wanted it. BUMMMER !!!
She told my mommy she would have given it to her...

Let me get back on track now heehee !!!
I'm going to talk to you about Powwows.
There is Northern protocol and Southern protocol Powwows. My tribe is Northern so our powwows we go to are all Northern protocal Powwows...

We have a variety of dance catagories such as Northern Traditional, Northern grass dance, Men's Northern fancy dance...
The women have womens Northern traditional buck hide or cloth dresses, Jingle dress dance, and womens Northern Fancy shawl dresses...

Some powwows are traditional and social and some powwows are contest and pay off with big money to the winners...

At Powwows we eat lots of fry bread and Native American tacos and chili stew. At night we are still eating frybread with hot coffee
or hot cocoa.
Every Powwow we went to we always met lots of powwow buddy's who stays our buddy's for life.
Some Powwows last all weekend and some over night.
Being there is awesome and magical with lots of love between different tribes.
A powwow with different tribes are called intertribal...

Thank you for your votes

  Hey Ti Paul
Happy Thursday !!!

Because of lack of time I have to make this blog short and to the point !!!

The Battle of little Big Horn... Custers last stand...

In late 1875 Cheyenne and Sioux Warriors were mad over the continued raids of Custer and his men going into our sacred lands and the black hills...

Our tribes gathered in Montana with great War Chiefs ready to fight for our tribes and our lands.
The following Spring two victories over the U.S calvary gave us strengh and spirit to fight on.

In the summer of 1876 was Custers last stand...
Custer and his men came to raid our camps and kill more of us.
Thinking there was only women, elders and children there they rode their horses into a trap !!!

As they approached what they thought was a camp with women, elders and children they got surrounded and out numbered by warriors from my tribe and the Sioux...

On that day only 60 warriors were killed and 262 men with Custer were killed in less than an hour.
What a time of victory it was for us !!!

History say's that Custer's body was found unmutilated and naked.
No thats not the truth...Custers body was never found !!! He was seen being killed. By our Warriors. But his body never found...
Some beleive that Custers body was put into a mass grave with his fallen men !!!
He dose not deserve a decent burial with honors and recognition.
Custer was by all means a coward and a cold blooded killer !!!

To this day the warriors have passed down from generation to generation. The sacred hat and clothing that belonged to Custer.
He was stripped naked when he died so the warriors could stake claim and victory !!! One of our tribe's are the keepers of the sacred hat...I can't tell you who because of the sacred vow of silence we made in those matters...

So the elders told us that's what really went down.Generations upon generations of our families have been told the real truth.
Trust me your hearing this first hand from real elders that were there and witnessed the battle. We are the real deal !!!
This is told the same way from generation to generation.

To this present day my tribe will go to the sight where we won victory over Custer and offer sage to our fallen warriors.
When it's quite we can hear the ghosts screaming out in the battle field and when we close our eyes the spirits of our fallen Warriors will take us with them on the battle feild and we can see things that went down that nobody outside of our tribes can see...

Like we all say History is a lie agreed upon. How do these so called historians know if they were not there ??? They just agree upon things because they don't know...They all guess at it and agree upon it.

Thank you for your votes

  Hey Ti Paul

Also if any of you would like to adopt an elder or more please go to the milonga page and leave your name and page number and who you would like to adopt.

Because of lack of time I'm going to take you through a quick truth about the Custer and the 7th calvary battle. The blogs are kind of short but true. These are true accounts passed down from generation to generation of elders in my tribe and elders in my family who was actually there. NOT HISTORY BOOKS !!!

Eyewitness accounts of The battle of little BigHorn...

When the 7th calvary made their way to Native American land they came with one intent. Genecide ,wipe us out !!!
They would wait for the warriors to leave camp and go on hunting parties. Then Attack !!!

The Women, children and elders would always stay behind and wait.
Once they were left alone Custer and his army of killers would raid our camps with no warriors there to defend the women, children and elders.

Custer had no mercy on my tribe and family. Custer and the 7th calvary would rape and kill the women and torture them and the elders by skinning them alive and make lamp shades and tents from their skin. They would throw babies and children in the fire alive and laugh as they screamed in agony and they had the nerve to laugh at them while they went through this torture dying.

My great, great, great grandfather had told my family and tribe on how they could smell burning flesh for miles and miles away. By the time the warriors would come back home from their hunting parties the whole camp would be burned down to the ground and everyone was dead.

For many generations Custer was called a hero. Do you call that a hero ???

This is a heartfelt series I'm sharing with you and my mommy stops to cry while typing thses blogs for me as she remembers the truth that has been told to her and tribal and family members for generations.

When Custer and his army of cowards won a war it was called a victory. When any of the Native Americans won the war it was called a slaughter.

All this would lead to the Battle of Little Bighorn...

To be continued tomorrow...

Thank you for your heartfelt votes and listening to the voices of our elders...
