 Mommy always wanted a Macaw,but daddy said no more birds what don't like him,because my brother Jango its a big mommy's boy,but mommy didn't gave up,then one day they came to the store"Paws & Feathers"and daddy must felt in love with me,so he made a deposit and tried to surpise mommy,but my mommy is smart and know something was going on,so daddy could not keep the secret much longer and told mommy that i'm her new baby,i'm a gift for their first anniversary and for x-mas,like everybody know,my daddy is a big star wars fan and he is in love with Princess Leia,thats were i got my name from. MY HATCHDAY IS APRIL 27th.2007. |

How the heck are ya? I know…shocking to see me here, huh? Well, mom and I have dedicated more time to each other, the rest of the flock, household chores, relaxing…you know…life. Which is why we haven’t been on BC for a long time. But that doesn’t mean I don’t miss you or think of you often, because I do! And even if this is a cut/paste message, rest assured that when I came to your page, I remember something special about you that made me smile.
What have I been up to? Well, I have my own room now! Mom and dad call it “the bird cellar” (see pics below) because MOST of the room belongs to Peachy and I, but daddy was allowed to use our closet to store some of his wine. The best part is that when my parrots are home but can’t have their eye on me, I’m in my room but not my cage. It’s awesome! Mom hung a big tree branch above my cage with some toys, and I’m next to the window so I can see out, but also hide if I see something scary. Got my radio, own TV. And mom made me little “birdie furniture” she painted all pretty to store my treats and toys.
Peachy is doing well. She still stumbles around her cage a bit, but other than that, she is a-ok. She's even singing and tweeting again!
We are also considering a new flock-mate. Daddy has given the green light. (“But just ONE…unless we win the lotto and move to a plantation!” he says) Since mom has kind of sound-proofed the bird cellar (the key word here is kind-of), she broke dad down and he agreed she could bring home another flock member. But she isn’t 100% ready. I think she’s worried how I’ll react since sometimes I occasionally, rarely, every-now-and-then, kind-of, sort-of act like a spoiled brat. (A-hem!) Anywho, on one wing, I’m a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-feathers kind of bird. Hardly anything bothers me. If something new is brought into the house, as long as I can inspect it, we’re good. No freaking out…no birdie tantrums. I’m like as easy going as they come. Especially for a Conure! But mommy…well I am her BABY. And I aint sure I want to SHARE her with anybirdie else. I have allowed another bird to perch on mom’s shoulder, but that was at my Aunt Cathy’s house. And I did let mom hold our friend Knuckles…but she was visiting, not staying. Big diff. So if you have any advice on going from a 1-parrot house to a multi-parrot house, PLEASE SHARE.
Well I don’t want to squawk your ear off all in one sitting but please please please drop me a line and let me know what’s new, how you’re doing, and any and all gossip about BC news. Oh, have to leave you with this: Question: What kind of bird sticks to sweaters?? Answer: A vel-CROW! hehehehe

Just flew in to hit the vote button and Mom says she sorry that she hasn't been on BC. We think of all our BC friends its been busy and ONCE AGAIN we have our travel cages with our little backpacks in case we need to leave due to forest fires up by us AGAIN!!! At least our dad is here to help mom, we have a big chevy truck, trailer, boat and moms big 4x4 that they will take our cages if needed:) Dad is doing good, he went on his first house fire 2 weeks ago and just came back from his first wildfire since his heart attack back in February. Dad is a volunteer fire fighter with our local small fire department but skin sister Dawn is working fires and her boyfriend which is a big shot for our CalFire who is fighting this fire thats close to our place, so we know we are in good hands with the Good Lord and the wonderful firefighters!! We will try to keep in touch and remember we love all our friends! Mommy & Daddy would like thank all our BC friends & family for the wonderful donations for us. Daddy is out of work because he hurt his leg and now needs knee surgery, and Mom & Dad have been worried about how they are going to feed us all birds without any income until EDD/SDI starts paying Daddy for lost of pay which is taking a long long time.
