  Hi Gus
Mom will have to send you a picture to see what it looked like, skin sis sent her a picture of it before she had brought it down to Mom with Peepers in it for a model and a tester to see if Mario would've fit in it.How awesome that your sweet daddy collects those cans and gets money for them to help maintain the trail.Mom knows what you are talking about how people just don't know one metal from another and they will throw glass in with just cans etc.We used to have to separate all the recyclables into categories(plastics only, glass, clear, colored etc.cardboard or chip board, corrugated, metal and tin)and Paper, now we all just dump everything into one bin together.
Today was a dark, dismal dreary wet windy day here and the temperatures never got any higher than 50 degrees. It was pretty cold out too. Both parronts got up at 5:45am so my dad could drive my skin bro to work,he had to meet him at the car repair shop at the end of Nana's street in Mashpee and then take him to Sandwich.Later in the day he had to go back and pick him up and bring him back to his condo,my dad will have to be back in work tomorrow and he has to be in work the same time skin bro does,so Mom might be taking him to work. They had to order the part for his car and it won't be ready til tomorrow sometime.Mom got a little house chores done and she made some date nut cookies. She made turkey roll ups stuffed with provolone cheese and tomatoes for dinner tonight.
I just love your mantra this week too!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses and a vote for my sweet forever friend!Loving you always and forever,Dixie

  Hi Gus
Mom loves craft shows, but she hasn't been to one in ages. She'll have to keep a look out for one.

I had a sunbath at 10:30, but it only lasted 20 minutes which is the minimum time for benefit per the vet. The reason for the short outdoor time? It's Monday, and the trash trucks were rumbling by, and then in addition some big sort of construction trucks came by: three of them just a few minutes apart. And finally the neighbor fired up his edger, and that was it for me. I dropped my nutriberry and just hunched down on my perch. So Mom picked me up and brought me inside. It was even getting on her nerves.

Mom is dealing with a big owie on her pointer finger, and yes it is a bite, but I didn't do it! Yesterday when Dad went to the Valley Produce Market he saw they had very nice spinach, which my mom loves (Me? Yuck!!) So he bought her 2 bunches, and she was cleaning them up and putting them thru the salad spinner. Well, she got her finger caught under the spinning arm, and it chomped down on her finger much worse than anything I have ever done. It not only bled, but after Mom put on a Band-Aid it bled right thru that. Didn't stop her from finishing the spinach or fixing our dinner though. Oh yeah, the gumbo was great, although all I wanted was the rice.

And now having told Mom what to blog I sit in my room, stuck once again because I just can't stay out of those desk drawers. Mom timed it, and it only took me 30 seconds to go after them. They were calling me; I swear they were!

  Hi Gus
Mom didn't ask if they were open on Wed. so maybe we could check their web page? Cindy did say there would be a new bird show in Circleville in July, not run by the same people. She seems to think it will be much better, and told mom to watch the web page for the date.
Mom has been a bit dizzy and nauseous since last night, so when she left the center today she went to the store and got some ginger ale to help her settle the stomach. Hope that takes care of the dizziness too. Of course, she also bought a new cucumber, pepper, yam, and berries for us while she was there.
When she got to the center today she found out she was doing (what else?) the RVS room. But when Bree saw her, she suggested that mom just sit in there and feed bats. Mom fed all 7 of them and cleaned their cages, but it took over 2 hours. While she was working, one of the staff came in and told her not to clean the big cages, just to finish the bats and leave. Mom was happy to oblige. She thought she'd get some yard things done today, but it was raining when she left the supermarket, so yard work is probably out of the question.
I hope you are having a beautiful spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Falco

  HELLO FROM LITTLE LUCY
Hi Gus,
It sounds like your Mom and grands had a fun time at the craft show. Does your Mom ever take you with her? My Mommy takes Finnegan to lots of art and craft shows. She doesn't take me though because I'm flighted. He's not and he loves to meet and greet all the people. She used to take me when my flight feathers were clipped. Now I have to stay home except when she takes me for rides in the car.

  Hi Gus
SHHHHHHHH!, Mikey D here at Widow's Creek. The place looks abandoned, not a bird in sight. Suddenly, outta the brush Black Bart's mite-infected side-kicks appear, guns poised at the ready. Mikey D takes a deep breath, and steps down from the lazy-board, and nods to the other drivers to follow suit. Cautiously, every nerve on the ready, the BC team moves to join the trail Boss.
"Far enough, now back off from them there wagons" a surly lookin' Raven orders, his six-shooter aimed at Mikey D. " fella's you take a gander and make sure them wagons have the treasure Bart wants."
Cappy and the tunnel birds have broken through the dirt and have slowly pried on the saloon floor until the boards are loose. Cappy is on high alert waiting for the signal. The tunnel birds are all ready to make their move and just wait in silence until Cappy hears the signal to burst through the floor and save Jesse.
"Wow, we tunnel birds did quick work." Pearl whispers to Silver waiting in the darkness," All the cowbirdies are eggcited and scared but more than prepared to do their assigned duties to carry out the rescue of Jesse as soon as the Trail Boss gives the order. They listen for the sound of Sky's double-barrel shot gun. Cookie shakes dust and dirt from his feathers after digging and stands waiting in silence. Dixie and Kallie along with Peepers and Celine all worked hard to move that dirt out from the tunnel they were building to connect to the saloon. They can't wait to save Jesse from Black Bart's clutches.
Mikey D, looks at the gang of thieves, then at the wagons. " Ok, you got everything ya wanted, now let my friends walk outta here peaceful-like"
"NO, Bart ordered us to take ya all hostage and bring you all back to town. You, come with me" he points at Pookie, one of the drivers, we're gonna go check out the loot. If there's any funny-business he's gonna get it. Hear me?" he growls angrily. Mikey D shakes his head, and waits not sayin' a word. He over-hears one of the bandits call the surly Raven, "Badact".
"WAIT! Badact ya sure you really wanta hand over all this treasure to Black Bart? You all kno' he ain't gonna share it with ya!" this gets the bandit-birds grumblin' among themselves. The plan is working. If they can convince these scoundrels that Black Bart is goin' to take everything they just might get them to turn against their leader.
Badact grabs Pookie by the shirt-collar and marches him to the sixth wagon, stoppin' to think for a moment, he then reaches his wing out to pull open the back of the canopy. He stops dead in his tracks as Kiddo jumps up, his gun leveled at Badact's head. The action gives everyone of the BC team time to dive for cover. Kiddo shoots over Badacts head, startling him, " feelin' lucky?" Kiddo yells angrily. Sky jumps out of his wagon bed, shooting his gun into the air, the double barrel echoing clear to the Ghost Town, signaling the Tunnel Birds into action. All chaos breaks loss

It's Sawyer.
Mom and dad's colds are still hanging on. At least the cough, anyway. It's been over a week. Dad's going to suggest that they go out and do something, even if it's at the Mall (YUCK!). The fresh air may help.
Today will be partly cloudy, with a high of 74 and a low of 54.
Hope your day was fun.

  Hi, Gus
Probably right that a different mechanic worked on the car and didn't think to put the switch back to what it was set on. Perhaps didn't even realize had changed it. Good thing your mom noticed it and knew how to change it.

That is good your mom selected the school colors when trying to knit the new hat. Once the first one is done won't take long to do the next ones as know about how long each section is and about how long it takes. So fun to just knit along and no worry about how many rows or what stitch one is on just have to measure for length.

Craft shows are always fun to attend. Never know when might get an idea and see what others are making. When skinsis was a preteen the lady making rings made her one to fit since all the premade ones were too big. Good way to make a sale.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

We had a gorgeos Sunday. Dad invited his friend Geno to lunch and we shared lemon cookies.
I don't normally like people other than Dad, but Geno is really great. He's my new buddy.

Later Geno and Dad went to see "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" at the Theater. Sadly the place is not 'bird-safe' so I had to stay home. I do love when we see "The Sound of Music" at home, so I can sing along.

  Hey buddy !
Happy Monday ! I guess . . . we have rain all day today - and much cooler temperatures all week, only in the 50's. I guess if mother nature is going to tease us, let it be on a weekend ! On top of all that, it's mom's busiest week of the school year. Her drama club has it's production on Saturday night so they have rehearsals every afternoon ;( That means extra cage time for me - sigh. But at least with her show early this year, I can be in the Derby ! ! ! Silver lining behind every dark cloud !

A craft show ? Mom is jealous - we have one nice one in September and that's it except for all the little church ones around Christmas . . .

I hope you have a better day - love Cookie

Well, they always turn off mom's auto lights and change the radio station ... GRRR!
That sounds like a fun thing. I would love to go check out a craft show. We have a couple in the summer. They set up tents in the park. Dad likes to go to the flea market ones. Mom says we don't need any fleas!
Today was 60 and sunny, very nice. Starting late tonight and all day Monday will be rain and 40's. By Wednesday we'll be down to mid 30's. I'm leaving my beach chair in storage!

Thank you for liking my Derby Hat picture!I thought that Mom was never going to get it done for me!Oh that craft show sounds like it was a lot of fun,and I bet the grand girls had so much fun checking out all that jewelry!Whenever Mom goes to one of those craft shows there always seems to be so much jewelry there. That's true too that some models and makes of cars have different features that others don't have.
This morning was a bright sunny morning but quite cold out there! Our highs for the day will be 53 and the lows will be 39,its 50 right now and cold.Mom had planned to take us all out on the deck today to enjoy some sunshine but that's not going to happen now.Mom got us all up early and cleaned our cages and room and we got some fresh bean mix and then she did all the vacuuming on the whole downstairs.Mom was going to go outside today to plant the mini daffodil plants on Mario's grave but its too cold to put the plants out there now. Then Mom was getting ready to get more things done when skin bro IM' d her and wanted her to drive him to Buzzard's Bay to pick up his bike which is over the Bridge.Mom dropped everything she was doing and started to get her car ready to put the bike in and then to go and get dressed when my dad told her that he would drive skin bro to Buzzard's Bay to get the bike.So he finished taking all the stuff out of Mom's car,our car seat,Mom's lumbar support on her seat, and all Mom's crates in the trunk for groceries.Skin bro came and dad took off with skin bro and her car.Mom is happy about that as she just hates driving.Dad was raking leaves in the yard but they were all wet and yucky from the rain and snow and he just jumped at the chance to drive skin bro to get his bike.He was going to burn more brush but the wind was way too strong for that.Mom may still go out and clean out her flower garden later on as she really wants to see whats coming up and if her bleeding heart plants are going to return this year.

  Hi Gus
Well, I had a nice sun bath right after Mom got home from the gym. It was pretty warm out being as it was 12:30 by the time we got out there, and the sun was high in the sky. Mom had to move to the shade again, but I was loving it. And a cute little hummingbird hovered over me for a few minutes checking me out. I am sure he was very impressed! It was the first one Mom had seen this year.

Then we came inside and Dad asked my mom about a new sound I was making and wanted to know how long I had been making this peep-peep noise. She said it was new and only about a week old. Then Dad told her it is the sound that wild canaries make, and they must have been feeding in the bush right outside my window. Silly Dad! I could have told him that if he just asked!

And now Mom is making her chicken gumbo for dinner. It makes the whole house smell good, and I can't wait for dinner. My favorite part is the chicken, Andouille sausage and the rice, but Mom loves that icky okra she puts in it. She claims it wouldn't be gumbo without it, but I won't touch the stuff!

  HELLO FROM LITTLE LUCY
Hi Gus,
That's a pretty cute little horse there in your pic. Mommy says that it’s been too long since she blogged for me. Mommy is birdie-sitting again this weekend. Ususally the birds Mommy watches come to our house, but these birdies get to stay home in their own cages because they live only a mile and a half away. Mommy always sits for these birdies when their parronts go away. There’s a very old yellow headed Amazon, an African cape parrot and two lovies. There used to be three, but the mama lovebird, the oldest, died about a month ago. She had cancer. So sad.

Mommy took me for a car ride the other day when she went to the post office. She usually puts me in my carrier and she straps me into the rear seat, but since this was a very short trip, she let me ride on her shoulder. I love that. I kissed her and preened her hair all the way there and back. I hope your weekend is fun.
Lots of Love and Hugs from Your Friend, Little Miss Lucy♥

  Hi Gus
Howdy, Mikey D here, at the camp readying to head into Widow's Creek. Cappy the tunnel-bird champ and his crew are already heading towards the Ghost Town, digging their tunnel quickly under Black Bart's beak, and moving in to place to rescue Jesse from their felonious grasps.
Ms BB rides back quietly into camp, unseen by the busy birds, it isn't until she speaks they realize she is there, " the tunnel birds are gettin' near the saloon! I seen a big pile of dirt outside of camp. Black Bart still has not shown himself. Some of his gang are still at Widows Creek waiting for the surprise you have planned for them. The group have got the horses away unnoticed and should have them here in the remuda any minute."
"It's time everyone!" Mikey D says loudly enough to be heard by all, "OK drivers, carporals act real casual-like, and don't let them know anythings up! Gun-birds, stay safe, wait for the signal, " Where's that feather-plucked rat?" before you come out shootin' and may God be with us!"
"The horses are stashed safely among the herd of cattle and mules, " Peppino reports to the others.
"Everybirdie knows the part they must play to successfully rescue Jesse and keep us and our cargo safe. Black Bart will regret messing with us again." Silver exclaims, as he and Pepper check their weapons.Pookie says "I'm all ready lets start heading out. I've got my rifle along with a night vision scope attached. I never leave home without it." he climbs up into the wagon. Peepers,Celine and the rest of the Dixie flock are all eager to help dig and be tunnel birds! They all grab a shovel to show Mikey D just how strong and fast they can be! Cappy directs the work, as dirt flies quickly out of the tunnel. Kaji takes a quick look of the work and reports back to the others that the tunnel is nearly finished.
"Let's move'em out!" Mikey D calls as he snaps the reins of his team and pulls them out onto the rough, rutted road. Kiddo spins around and draws his gun to show he is ready for Black Bart before jumping up onto the back of one of the empty wagons, joining the others hidden away in the beds of the Schooners. They move along at a slow walk, no birdie eager for what is to come. In the distance Mikey D spies Widow's Creek and can just make out a small figure of a bird watchin' them.
The Tunnel completed, Cappy waits for a few minutes to regroup his team before them head inside to make their way towards the saloon. They check their guns, and follow into the darkness. They wait to hear the signal shot from Sky at the Widow Creek. Then they will bust through the final inches of dirt and bust into the back of the saloon to save Jesse. Falco and Chyna take a deep breath as they wait. Very bird's nerves are on edge, ready to swing into action......
Mikey D holds up his wing, as they pull carefully into the opening at Widow's Creek..
see ya tomorrow, MIKEY D

  Hi Gus
We had movie night last night, mom rented Birdman on demand. The biggest problem was that we were in lockdown because Jessica is a little afraid of us. I made my displeasure known by screaming every now and then, Peppino chattered, but not as long as he did last movie night, and Willie was the good boy among us. Maxine even put in her 2 cents worth.
Mom bought more pellets and some poop off at the warehouse yesterday, and got Willie one of his favorite kinds of foot toy, one made of cardboard with excelsior and a little treat inside.
Today she has a later tour at the museum, so she's hoping to finish cleaning out her pots for planting this years annuals before she goes. It's going to be a girl scout troop and they want the biomes tour. Apparently they've been doing some ecostudies in troop meetings, which is really good.
I hope you are having another great spring day. It's supposed to be nice here all day and rain later on, towards evening. May you have warm and sunny skies, lots of cuddles and scritches, too. Hugs, Falco

Thanks for liking our new derby pic. We were just gonna use our old pic but found new hats so made a new one to enter the contest.

Know that pets really do help parronts get calm and relax after a trying day. Nothing can beat the unconditional love.

Didn't know some vehicles had the option to have lights on automatic if dark out. Sometimes so many street lights can't tell if headlights are on. Would alleviate people leaving 'em on accidentally and return to dead battery. Good to figure out that the auto setting was turned off.

today mom drove over to our frothers apartment and picked him and our g-son up and took them to the park. on the drive there mom noticed a lady bug on the windshield of the car. as long as the car was moving the lady bug stayed still but as soon as the car stopped in traffic the lady bug started moving around. there was a lot of traffic because there was a baseball game . mom was hoping the ladybug wold stay on the windshield til she got to the apartment so she could release it on a shrub. but the lady bug flew off while mom was stuck on the bridge over the river. mom used to buy hundreds of ladybugs and praying mantis to release in our yard but it seems they all would fly away. mom had a wonderful afternoon talking with our frother while g-son played with all the children at the playground. he makes friends very easily and never gets angry or fights with the other kids. our frother was always getting into fights with the other little children

it was a beautiful sunny day.

  Hi Gus
CONCLUSION ON SPIDERS
Cellar spiders which have super long legs like daddy long legs (which are not spiders) love to eat ants. if you have those tiny tiny little ants running around in your house cellar spiders will eat all of them.
3. Antarctica is the only continent in the world where you will absolutely not find a spider. There are creatures who live there like whales and penguins, but people and spiders stay away from the Antarctica lifestyle. because arthropods like to keep their butts warm, just like humans do.
4. Spiders possess shyness as a personality trait just like people .Spiders, even large ones like tarantulas, are docile in nature. Most spiders are inherently shy critters. They get squished more often than they actually bite humans. Spiders will defend themselves in rare cases, but these buggies mostly get scared and hide in the presence of danger.Because of their shyness they ALMOST NEVER seek out humans to bite. When spiders and humans come in contact, it is usually when they are looking for warmth or just happen to be seeking out food and we bump into each other.
5. Although we have all the eyes that we need, both spiders and humans rely on our other senses. You would think having eight eyes would be all the eyes that you need to see perfectly, but for most spiders that is not the case. Nearly all spiders have eight simple eyes, but having six more peepers than us, doesn’t make their vision any more superior since most arachnids have poor eyesight. On average, over six out of 10 people need to wear glasses or contact lenses, making our visual impairments almost identical to that of spiders. Instead, both spiders and people depend on our other senses, like sound, taste and touch, to help us survive. Nobody’s perfect; not people with two eyes nor arthropods with a whopping eight.

it is a pain to remove all those webs, mainly because they gather so much dust but consider letting spiders be or releasing them back outside the next time you see arachnid amigos in your home. plus i find them quite tasty

  Hi Gus, my love,
We had one of our best days today...got up to 76º. Mom planted some more flowers today...she got her ranunculus in the ground and then she got her new hose attached. Dad got her one of those pocket hoses, the ones that are super light and easier for mom to handle. She attached a Miracle Grow feeder and then fed all of her plants.
Mom also helped dad figure out the placement of the four sponsor banners on the trailer.

Mom is planning of planting her geraniums in the front tomorrow afternoon when the front of the house is warmer.

This is the blog that I left for you yesterday buy I couldn't get it to go through. Mom got her flowers planted in the front garden and it looks nice.

Dad finished the trailer and it looks good.

It will be fun to sleep at the stables with you and Rev, see you soon, sweetie.

  Hi Gus
Oh do I ever love my heater, and Mom wants to take my picture with my face and half my body up against it.My Mom is thinking that same way of how long she can keep on running between the two,my Nana and skin sis.She keeps calling my Mom up every night now in severe pain. But all my Mom can tell her is to put ice on the area of pain, she can't do anything for her there if she was here Mom would be more than happy to stay up all night long and all day to take care of her.Oh how scary that must've been for your poor Momma trying to find out why her headlights didn't work!It seems like every time you take your car in for service they always forget to do something or other,my Mom doesn't have those auto lights in her car,I guess its way too old!
This morning was a beautiful spring day here with the bright sunshine and the warmth that it brought with it!The highs for the day were 65 the lows will be 41 and it went as high as 68 today and warm enough for us to sit out on the deck with Mom but that never happened because the neighbor one house away was burning leaves and stuff and he had the whole neighborhood, our area all clouded up with smoke.Mom wouldn't take us out there. She cleaned our cages and we had to wait for some fresh bean mix to be made up as she was too tired last night to do it then. After she gave us our breakfast she and dad took off to go to Nana's to pick up some of her bills she wanted to put in the mail(dad drove Mom to the post office in Teaticket to mail them there and then they went to Walmart to get some wild bird seed, two big bags 40lbs each and some water enhancer for my dad.Mom hasn't been able to get the wild bird seed because she can't lift those heavy bags into the cart and then get them out of the cart to put them in the car. Then they went to DQ and dad got his salted caramel blizzard that he's been wanting. They both sat out in the sunshine while they ate,Mom got one with all berries and strawberries in it.From there they went back home where dad dug a grave for Mario and when it was ready Mom got Mario and placed him in the nice casket that skin sis made for him all decorated with lettering out of that soft rubbery craft stuff. She had shiny purple paper around the whole thing and a soft pink cloth type material inside for him to lay on.The dates she put on top in the foam material were yellow, she had a pretty yellow ribbon around the length of the box also.Mom and dad said some prayers after he was interred and then Mom did some pruning of the hydrangea bush, she's going to get out there tomorrow and finish it with the clippers and then rake the flower garden out to see what flowers are coming up.They were home for another hour and then they were both off again but they were home by 5:00pm.Mom made pizza for dinner and we all got to have some crust and was it good!Mom is hoping to stay home tomorrow all day so she can get some things done.
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hug

Come visit me, Gabbie, Kallie, Peepers & Dixie.

  Hi Gus
Well, it is another warm one here today, so Dad let Mom know I needed to get out for my sunbath before they did the regular Saturday grocery run. So we were out there at 10:30, and it was already warm enough Mom had to move to the shade. I loved it!

Then after Mom went to buy my sugar snap peas, and a couple of things for her and Dad to eat she came in my room to share her lunch. They had picked up El Diablo burgers again with the free coupons Mom got from her trainer Becky. They got the 1/2 pounder burgers this time, and Mom bought fried zucchini as her side since the jalapeno poppers made for a little too much heat last time (can you say burning lips?) Anyway she loved the fried zucchini, but me not so much. I picked up and rejected the same piece three times. And although Mom loved the burger in my opinion it was just OK, but even though Mom cut hers in half and left the other half for Dad she couldn't finish it. Too big~! Then as she got to the bottom of the paper box holding the zucs she scored one French fry!! Needless to say I immediately grabbed it. Score! And I have to say that my favorite part of the entire lunch was the box that held the zucchini. So Mom let me have it for a toy. It's pretty much confetti now.

Then she sat and read with me for a while, but I am not even getting a chance to dictate my blogs. Due to my past bad behavior this week with the desk drawers, and Dad being home....well, let's just say Mom is hoping a few days of being left in my room will make me forget about those drawers. Keep dreaming, Mom!

  Hi Gus
WELL HOWDYYYY!, Mikey D finally back online. WOW, no net was sure tough. Didn't know how we'd make it much longer. Thankfully we can just pick on up were we left off. We gathered together to plan our rescue of Jesse and a greetin' for Black Bart he'd not soon forget. Lizzie had rustled up a great meal, but nobirdie seem too hungry with so much about to take place. With the wagons unloaded, and Apache, Bon Bon. Angel and Willie standin' guard we set about makin' plans on how to carry out our mission.
" I have scouted out Widow's Creek." Ms BB explained, " There is 1 road through the creek with lots of cover to hide in. That's bad for us cause Black Bart has his gang hid in it. I seen the movements they made back and forth to their horses. " BB paused for emphases "The cover is good for us cause we can sneak up & get the drop on them. Maybe a few birds can sneak in & lead their horses away.?"
"Now, that sounds like a workable idea, " Zippy says eager to get goin' and save Jesse. "I volunteer to go!"
"I will too" Parker adds. " Me too!" Flitzer offers.
"OK, you be careful. Take their horses back around the creek, and into our remuda for safe keepin. But be careful." Mikey D says, patting them each on the shoulder. He knows he's picked the best birds to do that job. Angel-tiel, Pepper and Peppino join the group as they ride out of camp to carry out their mission. Angel & Pepper are happy to help the birdies execute the "surprise" for Black Bart!
"We need to get these wagons hitched and ready." Sky adds looking at Mikey D for direction. "I'll be honored to be in the wagon as I'm a good shot." Pookie steps forward eager to do his share to help. Cookie and Spot get their guns ready, they know the team will out smart that rotten Black Bart and his gang.
"We're ready to do whatever part we need to help rescue Jesse and keep everybirdie, cargo, etc. safe." Pearl and Silver check their weapons and smiling, join the volunteers climbing into the now empty wagons.
Cappy steps up to help Mikey D and Sky lead the attack. "I'm very proficient with a sling shot lol. " he begins to pick out shooters to be in his wagon. Kiddo re-loads and speaks up "I have my six shooter loaded and ready to go!" he hops into the wagon bed ready to fight. Cappy asks "has anybirdie thought of digging a tunnel into the town? ... Cappy explains he is very adept at digging escape tunnels .
"NOW, that's a plan" Mikey D says grinning widely, We need tunnel birds quick! Any volunteers? Wings go up all over camp. "Cappy, you take all the tunnel-birds you need and head into town. Tunnel your way carefully towards the saloon. "Jesse!, we'll be there soon!"
see ya tomorrow, MIKEY D

Come visit me, MIKEY D, Steppin' back in history for BOTM April, birdie haven park, chuey, sweetpea, thanks for botd, zoey & cricket & nakita.

  Hi Gus
I'm glad mom survived the ride to Pittsburgh, she does not like city driving, we know.
Today mom has a class in handling RVS animals, then she is going to the bird warehouse to pick up a few things.
This afternoon she is hoping to get outside, it's supposed to go to 79! It will be a great day to finish the cleanup in the yard and gardens, and catch a few rays while doing it. Tonight mom, Aunt Gin, and her niece Jessica will be here for pizza and a movie. They are renting Birdman. It seems some folks love it and others don't, so I guess it got them all curious.
I hope you are having a great day and getting some sun, spring, cuddles, and scritches. Hugs, Falco

  Hi, Gus
Guess for those who are interested in those fancy crows they pay the price to keep 'em. If no one bought 'em at that price then they probably wouldn't charge it. Just know our mom wouldn't want one.

Our mom is almost always up before daylight since she starts work at 6am. She found it was a good time to send out our blogs if she gets up just a tad earlier. Probably good to leave early for that appointment to avoid the traffic. Well, we assume there would be traffic as there's always a lot around here. Good that is all done with.

We know you were quite happy to have your mom home again and gave her some much needed Ekkie therapy for that headache and the stress of the long trip.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

While me and daddy were waiting for mom to come home yesterday I started hollering - daddy gave me scritches, he came to play with me, he gave me a strawberry treat . . . nothing helped. FINALLY, he pulled out my bathtub and I jumped right in ! It would not have taken mom so long to figure out what I wanted !

  Hi Gus
the more spiders we have around the less chance for the need of any poisonous insecticides.for the next 2 days i would like to talk about SPIDERS. my mom and Cori are very afraid of them but would never hurt one .Spiders are one of our most misunderstood creatures. There are movies about them taking over your house, they are depicted in autumn decorations designed to scare people, but spiders are just like us. From our mutual disdain for mosquitoes and some species tend to their young, we have a lot in common with this arachnid . Plus, We need spiders in order to survive. Before you squash that spider that you just spied crawling across your floor, consider these five fascinating facts about these eight-leggers.
1. Mother spiders stay with their babies, just like we do.Almost all spider moms protect their young by creating a safe “blanket” made of silk to cover them with and then guard the sac until hatching. The moms that don’t leave or die before their babies hatch will stay with their wee spiderlings and care for them. The wolf spider, who is known as super-spider-mom, will carry the egg sac with her until her tots hatch. Once the wolf spider babies are born, they climb onto mom’s back and ride along until they are full developed. They survive by eating the yolk from their egg sacs. The wolf spider babies go everywhere that mama goes, including during her hunting. If a baby falls off of her back, she will halt what she’s doing and wait for the little bugger to hop back on. Comb-footed spider mamas also stay with their little ones and feed their offspring with liquid from their mouths. This all sounds a bit like attachment parenting.
2. We have the same archenemy: the mosquito. over one million people die each year due to mosquito-borne illnesses? There are 10 major diseases that are caused by these little buzzers, including Malaria and the West Nile virus. Well, our friend the spider eats those pesky pests. In fact, certain spider species, like the Malaysian jumping spider, get their nutrition solely from mosquitoes. Another jumping spider from Africa is known to eat mosquitoes exclusively, unlike most spiders who eat mosquitoes and other insects. Spiders are also known to stalk mosquitoes like cats

  Hi Gus
This morning was a dark, dismal, dreary and pouring rainy day, with the temperatures highs to be 55 with the lows being 46.It's 52 right now at 9:00pm.Mom got us all up early and cleaned our cages and fed us our warm bean mix. Then she packed Dixie up in his carrier along with the trash in the car and took off to Nana's where she put the trash in Nana's car along with Nana's trash, then Nana got in the car,Mom put Nana's walker in the car and they took off to the dump where Mom dumped out all the recyclables in the rain then she went to the trash area where she dumped the trash, then they went to the bank so Nana could cash a check, then to Falmouth to get all the things skin sis wanted Mom to do for her, then to Dollar Tree to get some things that they needed, then to Shaw's grocery store, where they got some sale items, then back to Nana's so Mom could pick up her car and get it filled with gas as she was riding on fumes, then before they left,Mom unloaded all the groceries from Nana's car, brought Nana's things in the house for her,put her own things in Mom's car, then called skin sis and asked her about her meds she was supposed to get.So before Mom got her gas she and Nana went to the CVS to pick up skin sis's meds,Nana gave Mom the $100.00 to pay for them,Mom will give Nana the money back next week, then Mom drove back to skin sis's apartment, climbed those 17 steps for the third and fourth time to bring the meds to her, rand down those stairs, and Mom drove to Walgreens and both Mom and Nana got some things there that were on sale, then Mom went back to Nana's where they sat and had some coffee and a little something to eat,by that time it was well after 6:30pm,so Mom collected Dixie and cleaned out his cage and went home, where dad unloaded the car while Mom put everything away and got us all fed and cleaned for the night, dad had already given us our snacks, then got a frozen dinner ready for dad's dinner, she was way too tired to start cooking after 7:30pm.Mom will try and get to all of our blogs hopefully without starting to nod off on us.Its been a really long day for her.
Oh your poor sweet Momma having to get up so early to drive to Pittsburgh again! It was so good that the grand got the shot so he could sleep through all the painful ordeal.Oh have I sure missed my heater,I too hope that it lasts for more than a year this time around!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs and soft beakie kisses for my sweet friend Gus and a vote for you too,Loving you always and forever,Dixie

  Hi Gus
Quiet day, but sometimes those are the best. Mom took me out for my sunbath as soon as she got home from the gym, and this time I didn't object to her being all sweaty. The wind seems to have finally died down, so it was a very nice time out there.

After we came inside I got to share my mom's lunch of lo cal lasagna, which she adds cottage cheese to in order to increase the protein. I say it just makes it taste better, since I really like cottage cheese. And the julienne carrots and squash on the side weren't bad either.

However after her shower we came into blog, and it didn't even take me a minute to go after that desk drawer. I can now open not only the little one on top, but the big drawer with all the folders under it. Mom can't figure out how I can do it, since it is pretty heavy. Hey! I am a strong fella!! Apparently that is irrelevant, because I have been banished to my room. I am trusting Mom not to tell any fibs about me in my blogs. Please let me know if she does, OK?

And just another reminder to all you dapper gents and lovely ladies; entries for the Derby Hat Contest are being taken now.

  Hi Gus
Your mom had good timing on the sheets, if she got them in before the rain came.
Today mom had her best spring day at the center so far. She got to work in the bunny room and take care of the baby squirrels. Many of the babies have been weaned and are eating either salad (bunnies) or mash (squirrels), so mom got to clean their little cages and prepare baby food for them. She loves the babies.
It's cool and cloudy again today. Mom didn't get any work done outside yesterday because while we were blogging it started to rain. It rained on and off all day. Today was supposed to be better, but it's still pretty humid outside and a bit cool. Mom doesn't like to work out there on cool damp days. I hope you are having some good spring weather and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Falco

It's Sawyer.
Not much going on. Mom and dad still don't feel well. Yesterday mom got all the copied papers together and ready to be mailed. Dad will take them to the post office today.
Yesterday afternoon dad tried to lie down for a bit. But it seemed that every five minutes either mom would call him for something or the phone would ring. Poor dad.
Today will be clear, with a high of 84 and a low of 53.
Hope your day was fun.
Hugs,
