 Well I have a world war 2 photo of my great grandpa in phillipines. In the photo he's holding a Eclectus. Ever since I saw that photo I have always wondered what color the bird was and what species it was.So I read some books, looked over many webpages. I even joined a bird club, which is really fun, and if you are not in one you really should join, all i can say lot's of nice people with years of experience and lot's of beautiful birds.
So about how I got them. I looked on the internet and bought Elly from a private breeder in Elk Grove Ca. What can I say my Fiancee and I fell in love immediately. So then a few months past and seeing how much I really enjoy Elly, I figured that i wanted another Eclectus. So I called up Lisa Prather from Breedingdreamsr- anch .com and asked her about her Ekkie available. And before you know we're driving back home with another little guy. Lisa And Mike at BDR were very helpful and answered all my questions, Kudos to those two.And now we are one big happy family moving into a new home here shortly, and giving our children more room to roam.. |

Hi Elly and Gus
Cant believe your have an electus named Gus too. I named mine that cause he was born in AuGUSt. My Gus just came home since he was at the pet store waiting to get weaned and all. He is very quiet is yours? Once in a while he gives this honking noise and did that alot on his ride home but not much now. He steps up very good and loves to eat. Chi Chi my love bird I have had for 5 years has finally accepted that Gus is ok and doesnt go in his cage to neb any more. I wasnt sure if Chi Chi would be ok with Gus but seems to do well now. What bird club do you belong too? We live in Pa so quite a way from CA. My Gus is a solomon island eclectus also. They had a female at the store and got them in the same day but she was 3 weeks older they said but had all her feathers and of course went home alot sooner too. They named her Ruby. Wow i love your story! I want one of these birds SO bad! My husband and i feel in love with one my mom was selling for a friend. He bonded to us but we didnt have the money to buy him and they lady wouldnt take payments. He ended up going to a lady HE hated :( and she never paid for him all the way. I have been searching for another "Wiggles" for years. He was the best bird. Heres my vote!Come visit me, Aniken, kokane, Ozwald & Neo.

Welcome friends! Its fun here. You'll meet lots of new friends. Mom got me first. I was such a great bird that mom and dad went crazy with birds. I'll always be the best though!! Next they got my Umbrellla Too sister, Star. Then they got my blue and gold sister, Charlotte. Then Dad found about this female ekkie that needed a home. He thought, Hey, maybe they'd have little ekkies running around. WRONG!! She hated me. She hated everybody except dad. She bit the blood out of mom several times. Lucky for her, mom is very patient and understanding since she knew she had come from an abusive situation. Gus, I hope Elly likes you better than VB did me. My Parronts divorced and dad got custody of her and mom got me. Oddly, we still all get together regularly. Mom says birds of a feather flock together and that real parrot people have a bond.The history of the picture is absolutely amazing!! It sounds like you 2 were meant to be.You 2 have my vote. Us ekkies are the most beautiful of all!!Come visit me, Liberty, Star, Charlotte & Alex.
