Mom didn’t take the heavy winter covers off the beds and the other night they were all pushed to the floor. Summer came fast!! Yesterday mom took them to the Laundromat to wash them and bought them home and hung them on the lines to dry. Now the summer ones are back on the beds for a few months again. Time goes so fast mom will be putting the winter ones back on in no time again. Mom thinks I am going to turn into a couch potato cause I get in my new happy hut during the day sometimes. Its just so comfy its hard to resist. This morning mom had a few things to do around here and then she went to visit with her sister a while. She is here for the summer and usually comes back but didn’t last summer so mom didn’t see her for a long time. Moms sister used to live in Wyoming but sold the ranch and outfitters business when her husband retired from the soda mine. Now they spend the summers in Pennsylvania and the winters in Arizona. Mom usually gets in the walk/run race that is held on the trail every year. It was held yesterday and mom didn’t sign up for it right away cause she hadn’t walked much all winter and then when she did her back hurted so wasn’t sure if it would quit. By the time she thought she might sign up for it, it was too late. Now mom is glad she didn’t with the cold windy day we had here on yesterday and even saw sleet coming down a bit too! Dad helped with it and he came home and was froze and had a winter coat, hooded heavy sweatshirt and two shirts on so mom was happy to stay in the warm house. “Some people have asked mom how she can be friends with someone she has never met. Boy mom was out and about a bit yesterday. She went to the bird social at the warehouse and got to see Boo boo and Cori mom and also Falco, Willie and Giz mom too. Thought she would get to see Tia mom but didn’t so hoping some time again then. Mom and skin sis were working on a card the other day but there was a lot too it so they didn’t get it finished. They wanted to go walking since it was a nice day and went on the trail for 4 miles so they were glad they quit and went. We had some rainy weather but it was warm at least. Yesterday evening mom and dad went to an event for the watershed. They had dinner and some girl talked about animals but it was late when they both got home again. At least we got to the milonga but didn’t have a typist for a while. We had a fun time as always at the milonga and I loved being with Napoleon too. The other day mom was cleaning and skin sis said she was going to the mall and did mom want to go along. Boy I never seen mom move so fast. I heard her tell skin sis give her 45 minutes and she would be ready. Mom had been washing clothes all morning too and washed the bed sheets and the shower curtain and liner so she had that about done. Sure as shooting in about 45 minutes she was calling skin sis and out the door LOL. Mom has never seen the movie Rio so bought it online on a dvd and it came today in the mail. We all went down stairs to the game room and watched the movie with mom. Oh to see all them birdies flying around and all it was funny to watch. I don’t know about mom sometimes! She reads stuff in these bird books and then the next thing you know she is trying new things on us. She read where its good to make a fid forage for food and to put a strip of paper across the food bowl. Well mom did it to my food bowl and I just left it be. Now Gus worked around it and then ripped that paper off his bowl. Mom finally came to the rescue for me and took the paper off. Over five years ago the one grand wanted a bird so mom got her a cockatiel and she still has it. The other grand wanted a guinea pig so mom got her one. They both named them Oreo though neither knew the other had either. Mom called skin sis today and could tell she was crying and here the guinea pig had passed away this morning. The grand didn’t know since she had to leave for pitching softball and skin sis kept her away from the guinea pig cage. Later mom talked to the grand on the phone and she was upset but don’t think as upset as skin sis was. Mom told skin sis she would take her to get her another guinea pig but skin sis no she didn’t really want anymore cause they sure make a big mess and lots of work. Now skin sis did have one as a child but it was our mom that did the cleaning of it so skin sis didn’t know they were that much work till the grand got one LOL. At least they got him buried and we will miss him but have great memories and he had such pretty pink eyes…RIP Oreo. “Make new friends, but keep the old. Happy belated Valentines day to you also. Last night mom was doing blogs late cause we got company and they didn’t leave for a while and mom didn’t get twisted till late. Dad went to bed and mom was still blogging so every once in a while I would cheech just to make sure mom was still up and didn’t go to bed and forgot to cover me. Dont reckon the groundhog would lie to us would he? LOL Mom and dad and skin sis and the two grands went to a museum yesterday and they all enjoyed that. Then they went up the street which is called the strip district and has lots of stores on the streets. Mom always gets olives at the one place. Of course they had to eat at Wholeys which is a fish store and love the fish there. Today mom wanted to go visit the grands since the grand sons birthday is the 17th but he will be in school on that day. Mom loaded everything in the car for the birthday boy and also the Christmas gifts too as well as the birthday money jar which they all get to dip in once a year for their birthday. Well mom getting her feathers trimmed did nothing for keeping her home yesterday. She was here in the morning and then pretty soon she left. Yes same here about the storm and you stay safe too! Mom was on a roll today! She had things she has been wanting to get done and needed to go shopping. She went to the cemetery and then to the craft store. You know the craft store took the longest right? Well she did have trouble finding one the graves cause they are so covered up with leaves right now but she finally found it. Then she went to the furniture store but didn’t find what she was really looking for there but again our furniture doesn’t really need replaced just yet either. Last week when mom and dad went to the farm it was raining and dad said there was mud on the lane going into the farm. Turns out it was manure and got under the car and stinking up the garage. Mom went to skin brothers today and took the 3 grands with her and they went thru the car wash. It took a lot of it off and doesn’t stink so bad now! Yesterday mom decided to hang a few clothes out on the line and then she washed the summer comfort and hung it out there too. Well needless to say the comfort didn’t dry and the clothes didn’t either so she just wasted her time hanging them out. It was cloudy and only 48 here yesterday. Yesterday dad took skin sis to see the skin brother and tell him good by and then on the way to the airport they stopped to see the skin sis at work and tell her good by. They had lunch along the way to the airport and the parronts were pretty quiet last night. Well mom got pasta salad made for the picnic today so far. Oh the trip to the airport wasnt as bad as the parronts thought it was going to be. The traffic was bad but it was in the other side on the other lanes. Mom got lots of crocheting done though LOL. She is about to start the easy parts again of just the shells and dont have to read the directions for that but takes forever to get it long enough. This one will definetly be the next 3 sizes she will make so the grands have them and will fit them even when they are older. Oh skin sis will go home Wednesday evening so the parronts will be making another trip to the airport again. Mom is sure glad she don’t have to go back to the eye doctor for 6 months. First her shoulders and neck was hurting and now her back feels like its ready to go out so mom isn’t moving very fast today. Yesterday mom went to the store where moms cousin and friends were to meet and do some scrap booking or card making or what ever they wanted to do. Mom was going to make envelopes so she had her bag full to do that. We will have to meet Katie!! Oh the noise outside all day long and sure am glad I am an inside fid. I can hear some of it but of course it’s a bit muffled which is good. There is a neighbor getting a new roof on her house so those guys yell all day long. Mom was running water in the kitchen and I started cheeching really loud. Mom knows that means I want my bath bowl so she got it for me and filled it with “just right” water and I took the plunge. Mom is at the point in the season where the days arent long enough and then she stays up late to do emailing and now she is so tired during the day her buns are dragging LOL. She always starts to complain cause the mornings come around too soon and the nights go to quick.
