 I was in my favorite pet store, just food shopping, and I saw this cage with oddly colored Java finches in it. When I went up to the cage this one came up to the bars and nuzzled my fingers. He is a hand-fed Java! Of course I couldn't resist.. |

Hi Amboise, we are not that familiar with Java Finches, but we know you are a very smart bird for knowing the right buttons to push to get your mom to bring you to her bird santuary/paradice, to be spoiled rotten along with all the other birds living there! The photo of you and your Tiel friend is a great shot, albeit a little reminicent of David and Goliath. Our dad told us that his son raised Zebra Finches and Button Quail in his room when he was much younger. While Christy and I don't know much about Finches, we know you are the luckiest one we've ever met, we hope you make lots of new friends and enjoy your stay on the BC...

Hi Amboise! Sprout here (drumroll, please!)
I would like to announce my new flockmates, Sunny (the Sun Conure) & Quincy (the Quaker), who arrived at our flock last night. I lady where my mom worked had these two guys and a change in her living conditions caused her to give them up. What better place but here? Mom hoped that I might get along with them since the loss of my cagemate, Zoot and it seems like I only have eyes for Quincy. We'll see about that Sunny bird. . .There are a couple of pictures of them on Zoot's page, right after the pic of my buddy Rocky. The last picture is of me on top of their cage, trying to get Quincy's attention. They are not in the bird room with us yet, but mom hopes that by the end of next week, we will have it all sorted out. They will have their own pages soon too! Mom would also like everyone to remember our friends who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently: Bella Blue, Millie and Neo. Please visit their pages too and send love to their families. The BC is the best community ever! Sorry it took us so long to get back and give you another vote but mom had something done to the computer and then her and dad took off on a cruise to panama canal and other places (hmppttt) Chi chi stayed at the skin sisters and Gus stayed at the store where mom first bought him and they had a great vacation too but sure was happy to see mom and dad when they went to pick them up. Hi friends, sorry this is a ‘group message’ but we no have time to write this all individually because mum has had the most busy day (she went to work then did a rescue of a beautiful eastern rosella baby, at 11:00 at night, lucky it was at a 6 min walk away destination down the road, mum settled him to bed on heat and gave him a drink, he is going well and is just an orphan, he was found on the road! Luckily these wonderful caring people found him and called mum) So anyway about 2 months ago mum, my two uncles and I organised a 1 week vacation down the South Coast to st georges basin. With the newest addition to the fosters, Rupert, mum would have cancled if she could, but cant. Anyway Rupert is going to stay for the week away with mum’s ‘superior’ to her in the rescue organization, the bird co-ordinator. He will be in good care with a lady who knows what she’s doing. He’ll be spending the day and night in her bedroom along side 2 suger gliders, 1 flying fox baby, and 1 welcome swallow baby, they are all very quite and calm and will be good room mates for him. Yoogoos is going to stay at aunt Nellie’s for the week, while Umberto, the three turtles (Neptune, Swartz and Little) and the three rehab lories (Rhubarb, Rutger and Rudolph) will be staying at home with Grammie under her care. I’m going with mum and the uncles on the holiday, mum says cuz im a big boy and don’t mind long trips I get to go. I went to the same place last year and had a blast, I sat on the warf while mom waded around looking for treasure. So cuz we’ll all be on vacation we wont be on birdchannel till next Friday or Saturday, starting from tomorrow (next week’s that is, not this weeks). Mum says she’s going to call everyone everyday to check up on her babies while she is away to make sure they are ok. She’ll be stressed missing them she says. Oh well gots to fly to nestiebies its 12:00 AM yikes! Oh my you are SOO cute! my mum adores java finches, and i used to have a java friend on bc but he passed. How are you today? Hmm ... making babies with a canary or even a TOO may be just a little difficult for you (hehehe). Mommies babies were zebra finches. She loved them lots. Right after they would throw the last egg out of the nest - they would start all over. It was kind of weird. They wanted to lay the eggs - but not follow through on what they were supposed to do with the eggs. Thanks for flying by and for the vote.
