 I researched parrot species and was interested in Pionus, Poicephalus, Greys and Eclectus. I met a Grey, a Pionus, and Molly at Denise's Parrot Place on Mercer Island, WA. Molly was 3 years old and had been returned when her new owner hooked up with a new fiance who disliked his two Meyer's. Out of the three parrots I spent time with, Molly who was shy initially let me scratch her head and then soon we became bonded after that. I bought her and brought her home a month later.. |

Almonds, all other seeds and nuts...raw carrots and snap peas, and anything Jean is trying to eat!
 On Jean's shoulder, on top of the tallest cages (especially if they aren't mine), on top of the window frames which MUST BE CHEWED!!!
 Extreme jealously of Aukie, my Jardine's. She attacks her whenever she can, though Aukie is larger than she is.
 That she gives me sooo many headscratches!!- ! Oooh, love those!
 I like to do my 'I'm a big tough bird' dance on top of high perches, raising my wings as I strut and bob my head. Also I hate being left alone and I will call endlessly, 'beep beep beep!'...even if Aukie is in the room next to me, that makes me happy and quieter compared to no one at all. But as soon as Jean is home, I hate Aukie again!.
 The Mollybird runs the house..

Hi and I hope the New Year is going well for you and your parront(s). I always like to meet new Meyer's since there are not so many of us around! What I am blogging for today is baseball season. Do you know about the baseball teams on Bird Channel? We did not have a Meyer's team last year, so I am trying to find out if enough Meyer's want to play to make up a team. My fiblings played last year and had a lot of fun. Let me know if you might be interested, and come visit me sometime even if you don't want to plan.

Molly was a Great Helper
Molly came along with Jean to help find my lost Red-Bellied Parrot, Mango. We could hear him occasionally but could not locate him in the trees. Molly's sounds got Mango responding and we were able to find his exact location. Mango got home OK, whew!

Thank god for Mom's like yours who see's what the potential is in us birdies. We're so glad ur with someone who loves. Relationships come an go but birds are our companions forever. Welcome to the Bird Channel! How are you? Thank you for coming by to visit me. My moms have been busy all week cleaning up all the leaves in our yard. This is the time of year when mom wishes she didn't have quite so many trees. I wonder why they spend so much time cleaning up all those pretty leaves. Looks like a whole lot of work to me. Well, we finally had our first frost here a couple of days so you know it's gotten really cold here. Mom says she can't wait for spring already. I hope you can come by and visit me.
