 I was working part-time at a bird store and she was abandoned in our boarding facility when her owner disappeared. He had paid extra for her to stay several months longer, then his credit card started bouncing and his number was disconnected. Later we found out his wife had died in the hospital and his whereabouts were unknown. He cared a great deal about his little 'Big Bird' and I believe he left her in the safest place he could. He owned her for 10 years, after rescuing her from a pet store where the employees would throw pencils at her when she made noise. She will step up on a towel if she doesn't see your hands underneath it, and buries her head in it as you move her to a playgym. She's a timid, quiet and sweet quaker.. |

What a story, brought tears to my eye's!
I a so amazed at how some pet stores have such lousy staff that abuse birds and other animals! I am glad that you had the heart to take this baby in and provide her with the much needed love and most of all a forever home! Arianna is going to get a new home
Just letting everyone know that sometime soon I'm going to rehome Arianna with someone who has other Quakers. I AM being very picky, but I feel she would do better with a same species friend and in a household with fewer big birds, so more time could be spent on her. I want a person who would be willing to take in a special needs Quaker and really spoil her. I have found someone across the country who would be great, but I am looking for people in the Seattle and local area as well. have a few people in line, but no one firm locally yet.Come visit me, Donald, Aukie, Molly, Arianna, Pilot, Nigel, Sylvain & Lenny.

I finally got my travel stand that I won from the flock giveaway. I was so happy when my mom brought in the big box and when she said that it was for ME! Boy I got so excited! I am afraid of it right now but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon. I never had anything like this before so whats a bird to do? Be scared I guess. hee hee! Welcome to the Bird Channel! How are you? My moms have been busy all week cleaning up all the leaves in our yard. This is the time of year when mom wishes she didn't have quite so many trees. I wonder why they spend so much time cleaning up all those pretty leaves. Looks like a whole lot of work to me. Well, we finally had our first frost here a couple of days so you know it's gotten really cold here. Mom says she can't wait for spring already. I hope you can come by and visit me. Hi from Jean's flock
I wanted to say I've posted a bunch of photos of Arianna below. Her good friend Lenny the Patagonian is in some of them with her...including one series where they are getting a squirt bottle shower together. Ari is 14, and unfortunately her feather folicles appear to be permanently damaged and she never learned to flap or fly. So she will always be a naked little bird; however she has been learning to play with more toys, get used to handling and showers, and to eat a healthy diet. And she really likes living here with all the other birds...she lived by herself for 10 years.Come visit me, Donald, Aukie, Molly, Arianna, Pilot, Nigel, Sylvain & Lenny.

He also was adopted some man gave him to mom cause he said he wouldn't shut up and he plucked himself just like you. That was a long time ago and Tiki has gone to the Rainbow bridge.
