Happy thanksgiving!
Here is a wonderful holliday recipe that I concocted today! Hope you and your flock enjoy!

Birdy Pumpkin Nut Puffs

Ingredients:
½ part flax seed
1 part oats (either rolled, whole or steel cut)
1 part shelled raw almonds (may toast if desired)
1 part shelled raw pecans (may toast if desired)
any other nut or grain you wish to add –perhaps cannabis seed or wheat berries
plain canned pumpkin
cinnaman and/or nutmeg and/or ground cloves (optional)

Equipment:
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Oven or microwave
Mini-muffin tin or paper plate
Oil for greasing tin

To make these I took the flax, oatmeal, almonds and pecans and processed them into a flour in my blender – then I took and added canned pumpkin until it was a paste. Then I dropped small dallops into my (greased!) muffin tin and cooked at (convection) 350’F for 7 minutes. Alternatively, you may add less pumpkin and roll into balls. Place the balls on a paper plate and microwave for about 2 minutes, or until they reach desired crunchiness.
For large birds you may opt to not initially grind up the ingredients, but just throw them all together, or only loosely chop them. I haven’t made it this way, as less is wasted by my birds if it is all together.

Optionally you may either add in or sprinkle on a small amount of cinnoman, nutmeg or ground cloves. I sprinkled those three alternately across my little “muffins”.

Serve to birdies slightly warm or cool as a “footheld” nutty holiday treat!

Hi everybirdie. My name is SweetPepper and I am on the campaign trail for my best friend ever, Beavis for BOTM. He is the oldest quaker at age 29 here on the BC. I think he deserves BOTM for his wisdom and strengths. He is a very quiet kind of bird but very loyal. He was my first really good friend that I met here on the BC. His mom is a wonderful person who can't spend a lot of time on the computer to campaign for him so I have dedicated myself as his campaign manager. I did it for him when I got him elected BOTW. Well Mama finally is letting us blog and BOY!!! ARE WE GLAD. She said she has been lax and had better do a better job. WE haven;t been on for awhile because Mama has been on another site and seems to let it take too long and then runs out of time and don't let us blog. This makes us really mad. Today she was rinceing out the mop and decided to put bleach on it and it fummed because she had cleaned up the dogs pee pee with it and she started gagging and ran and to our room and slammed the door. She said later that it was to keep the fumes out. She opened the front door and aired it out and rinced the bleach out. We thougth she had lost her ever loving mind.Niah and Anyas eggs will not hatch but Mama said she would leave them just a little longer to be sure. She is disapointed but that is their first clutch and sometimes it don't take because they are inexperienced or something. Well that is about all so we will just leave you with a vote and beaky kisses. TTYL

Hey Gracie! I heard from Buddy that you've lost a kitty and your dog isn't doing well. That is so sad, I'm very sorry. My human lost two of her cats just before I moved in with her, I know that she was heartbroken. She still pines for the last one, he was her sweetiecat. (He was only 10). That's the trouble with furry four-leggers, they just don't have as long of a lifespan as we birdies do....Anyway, give her a kiss for me...Cya...

Our holidays were great! I tried apple pie - YUMMY. Had to sleep in the dining room for a few days because mommy's tub had a leak. I was cool with it but Daisy freaked out and went in circles in her cage for hours. All back in our spots now and life is grand>

No good thing you dont have to be good all the time cause I wouldnt of gotten anything either. Just gotta be good when ole st. nick is watching hihihi. I chewed one of my new wooden toys up but mom said that is ok cause that is what they are for. I keep watching mom floss her teeth and brush them and I think I would like to have some of them things too. I try to beaky moms but they don’t come out hihihi. I don’t know why she has them and I don’t though!! Birds of a feather flock together. I have an extra perch just waiting for you’re my friend and my door is always open so stop in anytime. A Parrot's Christmas T'was the night before Christmas and all through the nest, not a wing was a flutter; we birds were at rest. Our feed cups were hung by the cage doors indeed, in hopes that Santa would fill them with seed. We Parrots were perching all snug in our beds, while visions of pine nuts danced through our heads. After another long day of taking our flap, Mom and Dad settled down for a long winter's nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my cage to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, chewed open the shutters and threw up my mash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow, looked as bare as my chest (well, what do you know?). When what to my beady eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer. With a little grey driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment he wasn't too slick. Hey Senegals, and Conures, and Yellow Napes, and Toucans, Macaws, and Eclectus, and all you Moluccans. To the top of your perches (don't splatter the wall), now listen, now listen; can you hear our loud call? As seed shucks that wild parrots make fly, when they meet with an obstacle; take that in your eye! So up to the nest-top those reindeer they flew, with a sleigh full of toys, and Santa Bird too. That's when I heard it, (was it The Real Macaw?) the scratching and digging of each little claw. As I flew back to my cage and was turning around, down the chimney Santa Bird crashed - - a terrible sound. He was dressed all in feathers from his head to his foot, and his wings were all tarnished with ashes and soot. Zac Squiggles' safe toys he had flung on his back, and he looked like a vulture awaiting a snack. His eyes, how they twinkled! His strutting, how merry! his grey wings enormous, his red tail like a cherry! His sharp little beak was as black as a crow, and the skin on his chest was as bare as the snow. The stump of a cracker he held tight in his bill, and he gobbled the crumbs 'til he'd had his fill. He had a grey face, and a round naked belly, that was as ugly and pink, as a ham from the deli. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly grey elf, and I laughed, when I saw him, cause he looked like myself. But, he let me know I had nothing to dread, everything was okay, cause my tail was red. He spoke lots of words, while he continued his work, and filled all the treat cups, then called me a jerk. And laying a wing-tip aside of his beak, up the chimney he rose like a sneak. He sprang to his sleigh, to the team gave a whistle, and away they all flew, like the down off a Quetzal. But, I heard him shriek, ere he flew out of sight, "Pine nuts to all, and to all a good-flight! " Here's a vote for you. Hope you can fly by for another visit real soon! Mom and I were just thinking about you so I asked her if I could fly by for a visit! Have you met my new sister, and the baby of the flock? Her name is Dew Drop. She has a page here, too! Boy, did I have alot to eat on Thanksgiving. I got to spend most of the day with my mom while she cooked. First off I helped my other mom make a special birdie bread for all the birds in the house with lots of fruit in it as well as fresh apple and cranberries. I had to check out the turkey while she was stuffing it. There were all sorts of goodies I just HAD to taste either while mom was cooking them or later during dinner. I had to taste EVERYTHING (turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, jellied cranberry sauce, pasta, and even the homemade giblet gravy). Mom was shocked when I liked everything and kept going back for me. She even took a pics of me sampling her dinner! Well, I gotta fly. Here's a vote for you! Hope you can fly by real soon for a visit! Hope you are having a great weekend. Mommy finally has some time to do some blogging for us. We are so far behind and out of the loop. Mommy has been so busy with moving to a smaller house and going through things. (We thought she was going to weed us out too!)Plus she is back to babysitting fulltime again. She is never home! It is too cold now for her to even take us along. Pout! But good thing is we love our new home and our new perching area is next to the windows facing a playground. Got to fly so we can visit more birdie friends. Here's a big birdy hug and a vote.

Mommy has not had time to do really anything but move, unpack, organize and babysit. Yup, Mommy is back to babysitting. Skin sister went back to work so now we have baby Luke unless Mommy is up in Appleton. Us birds are happy in our sunny room. Mommy was in here yesterday putting new greenrey in the finch cages and cleaning moving stuff again. Can't do much with Sassy's or my cage as they are so big but arranging it so everyone has sun yet protection from the windows. She was mumbling about it getting cold and winter coming. What is snow? Mommy said I had better enjoy the outside because the weather is changing. Well, got to fly. Well, flap anyway. Got my wings trimmed last month for attempting to fly up into the trees at my new house:( Here's a big birdy hug and a vote for ya...
