Update May 2008: Kirby's pic is on page 4 of the July 2008 issue of Bird Talk magazine :) The May 2008 Bird Talk magazine had a 4-page article about Barrabands (aka Superb parrots) in the wild. Seems like they're making a comeback :)
Kirby came to live with us after we had just lost our budgie and our African Grey was missing his buddy. It was 1994 and he was a year old. |

How are u sweetie? Well, mom did it AGAIN! She hasn't sent my blogs out in over a week! She has been busy doing spring cleaning, scrubbing everything down & putting winter stuff away & getting out the summer stuff! It's a slow & tiring task for mom! She said it would go a little faster if she didn't have a large bird sitting on her hand! I disagree tho...how can I make sure she's doing it correctly if I'm not right in the middle of everything?!

The parront had to change her plans for next week. This week she will be home and next week hopefully she will be able to go to Tampa, so we wont be blogging next week because she is our typist heeee. The weather here is cloudy and some rain. Today Oki will be playing baseball heee because he is a Silver Slugger heee. Nothing else to share with you birdies.

GUARD PARROT
A postal carrier is working on a new street. He comes to a garden gate marked BEWARE OF THE PARROT! He looks down the garden and, sure enough, there's a parrot sitting on its perch. He has a little chuckle to himself at the sign and the parrot there on its perch. The mailman opens the gate and walks into the garden. He gets as far as the parrot's perch, when suddenly, it calls out: "REX, ATTACK!"

You are such a handsome boy - and our first experience with a barraband. Mom says we keep learning so many things being on BC.
We were so busy for the past 10 days. Mom and dad (mostly mom) had the grandkids. They are 6 1/2 and 5 and very, very busy. The parronts are dragging their tail feathers for sure.

We got a lot of time out of our cages yesterday, mom was actually home from about 3. Congrats to the Mighty Macaws on their first win, both teams played well. I think the Pois were disappointed, but they did their best. It rained overnight, so we don't have to water everything today, just the pots on the porch and under the overhang in front. No birthdays or graduations today, so if the sun stays out, mom will be going to the pool for awhile, then taking her sister out for birthday dinner. Did I say no birthdays? I meant no parties, just a dinner out. I hope you are having a great day, lots of time with your folks, since it is the weekend, and maybe even some time outside! Mom got to the pool today, then came home so Willie could go to the game. We heard at the stadium that Lucky has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. We will sure miss her at the pie shop. She and her whole flock are good friends to us.
Mom is working at the museum tonight, so cages will get cleaned when she gets back. That's when we'll get out of cage time, too. Hope you are having a beautiful sunny day with lots of attention coming your way.
