For the longest timeI had been wanting to add, either an African Grey or an Amazon to my home, and both were for sale in the pets for sale in the newspaper, for the same price! When Jenny and I met, the search was over, as she walked over to me and started crawling up my leg, she knew, and I knew, that we would be forever friends, and while she was no longer wanted in her other home, you should see and feel the love she exudes to all who come near her, she adds the brilliance of Summer sunshine to our home daily! I could not possibly imagine my life without Jennifer, without Jen I would cease to be, she gives me reason and makes my heart beat!! Jenny Lynn is an awesome parrot...

Just a little note before I turn in for the night, Jenny, dear. Daddy is back in the hospital. Momma took him in yesterday afternoon with more bleeding. He’s been extremely nauseated for the past three days. Then yesterday he started having those awful cramps again; then the bleeding started. He’s having a fistula gram today, whatever that is. After that the doctor will make some kind of determination, hopefully, tomorrow/Wed.

If I can't talk to you again before the big turkey day...Momma and I hope you and your wondeful Dad and flock have a wonderful Thanksgiving. May God richly bless you all.

Lots of Love and Big Hugs, Flannigan♥

  Hi Jenny Lynn
Hope all is well at your place. We actually called to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving but no one answered. I guess you and Ziggy were at FB practice.
This morning I woke to see the winter wonderland. Everything was white with lots of snow for dad to plow again ... hehehe. We got another 9 inches over night. Along with the cold, we will have daily snow starting on Thanksgiving morning. I have 2 new snow pics up for those who like it. I think I'll just go back to my perch for the day under the extra blankets.

Come visit me, Chyna ~ Happy Thanksgiving & Bailey ♥ RIP.

  Hi Jenny Lynn
Today mom was home all day with me since the parronts went to the grocery store last night. Mom bought all she needed (and more) for Thanksgiving. Today she was chopping and dicing and every once in a while I would fly over to watch. Just when she would be really busy I would leave and throw the nuts out of the bowl on the coffee table though. That kept her busy too and after awhile she quit picking them up. She said she was glad there wasn’t many in the bowl and the bowl was small. Doesn’t matter cause I sure cant get those walnuts open no matter how hard I try! “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole stair case.“ Dropping a vote in your basket.   Hello Jen~
I do hope you are all having a wonderful day! The BC is giving me problems today and I am having difficulties moving between pages. We logged off for a while and are trying it again now but it still seems to want to think for a minute before I can get to a page!
Nothing really exciting going on around here. The Puyallup river has a flood warning on it and is suppose to crest at 4pm. Luckily I live on Summit so it's 5 miles to the river and since I live at the top of a hill, we will be fine. Lots and lots of rain but there is nothing strange about that.
The ham part of the Thanksgiving dinner was very good. The turkey should be defrosted enough for mom to cook it tomorrow. We have never done a ham for Thanksgiving before but mom bought one since they were so inexpensive. Good thing too since she forgot that the turkey would need a few days to defrost! I had some lovely rice, veggies, corn bread and a bit of a crescent roll! It was all good and I am glad that there are plenty of leftovers! Everyone was too full for pie so I am having some of that today!
I bet your house smells just great! Mom is going to make more stuffing later so it will be ready for the turkey. There isn't any of the corn bread stuffing left but it went well with the ham. There is plenty of corn bread so I'm covered!
You all enjoy the day! Please give dad our love and big hugs to you all!
Love you ~ Sugar ♥

  Hi, Jenny Lynn
At least BC fixed itself quickly after the squawkathon of Sun, but at least there was football to keep us somewhat amused. Our team won though it wasn't a foregone conclusion until the very end. We'll take it as they need every win they can get.

Today we'll be having our Thanksgiving meal as that was the best day to accomodate mom and skinsis work schedule. All the same yummy stuff just a couple days early and should still have leftovers.

Good no lake effect snow there as sounds like it cold enough. We remain in the 60s though it might warm to the low 70s. Continues to be nicely sunny.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

  Hi Jen
We didn't know you were close enough to a lake to have lake effect snow.
Mom had fun at the wildlife center yesterday, she did the RVS animals again, which means she fed the bats. She loves doing that, they think they are so fierce, baring their teeth at her! She also did the raccoons outside, as well as the raccoon and ground hog inside.
Today we are going to make cornbread for the stuffing. I hope we all get a sample. If mom has the ambition, she will bake the pies, but she would prefer to wait until tomorrow so they will be fresher. Mom's daughter ordered a fresh local turkey which she will pick up after work and drop here on her way home.
Mom does have an errand today: she needs a 6 foot lead for Daisy's class tonight. She got the mat, the treats are ready, the clicker is in her pocket, but she doesn't have a small 6' leash. The one she has is really thick, too big for that little dog. I only hope she is able to teach that dog some manners! Mom has done her homework all week, so maybe there's a chance this dog will be better by the end of class.
I hope you are all having a good day. Don't forget to come by the Lakers page today to celebrate Thanksgiving with our team! Hugs, Falco

I missed you ! Mom came home from the g'parronts on Sunday and couldn't get on . . . she did some baking instead. She got up yesterday morning hoping for the best ? . . . nope ! So she did some Christmas shopping in her jammies. We were so happy when she came home from school :)

I was home with daddy yesterday - at one point I started growling and growling. Daddy couldn't figure out what was the problem till he looked outside - there on the back deck snoozing under the chairs (which are covered in plastic for the winter) was a big ole' raccoon ! ! ! Dad made lots of noise and banged things until he lumbered off back into the woods ! Then he gave me a piece of kiwi for being such a good watchbird ! ! !

Have a good day my friend ! love Cookie watchbird !

  Hi Jenny Peyton Brady
yesterday was quite a day for us. it was mom and dads 37anniversary and they were actually going to leave the house and go out for dinner. dad asked mom to trim Boo Boo's beak because he said the top was way to long and she couldn't eat properly with it. so long. when mom took a look she saw that Boo Boo had somehow broken the bottom half of my beak off and my top beak was about 3/4 of an inch longer. she wrapped Boo Boo in a tea towel and got a good grip of my head and held her beak together and started filing away with the emery board. she moved fast because she doesn't want to hold her in that position for very long. at one point she noticed blood on her hand and thought maybe i had bitten her so she stopped to checked and make sure Boo Boo was ok . here Boo Boos top beak had started to bleed where she filed it down. you have to realize mom always is working on our beak and nails and so was very surprised to see what had happened in the first place and in order for Boo Boos beak to fit properly she had to file it down to the right length which made it bleed. when mom saw the blood she became ill and thought she was going to vomit. she grabbed some flour and dipped her beak in it. then she uses a cloth and wiped the blood off, then she dipped her beak in flour again. at this point we suspected mom was putting batter on Boo Boo to eat her for dinner. mom was so upset she told dad no way was she going out for dinner when Boo Boosbeak had been bleeding. what if it started bleeding again while they were gone. dad said ok and went out and brought dinner hone from a nice local italian restaurant. that night mom let Boo Boo chase a live cricket around and she did catch it and ate it all up. i was fairly upset that Boo Boo got so much attention. mom gave me a cashew to cheer me up. Boo Boo is still mad at mom but acting a little better and eating with her beak. mom says withBoo Boos beak so short she really look like a baby bird now.
mom also says i am looking better and better and my beak is looking better and better also. i am keeping my weight at 474 grams which is good for me. mom says my eyes also have a sparkle to them which she hasn't seen for a few years.

love Cori and Boo Boo

I think we are all set for Thursday too. It will be a great fest for sure. I get to "sit" at the table too (t-stand). Mom makes me a little plate (yes I have my own people dish) of yummy food to enjoy. I hope everyone has a wonderful day's almost here! I can't wait to watch the parade with mom and then feetball with dad.
Sorry every birdie ... couldn't get on the BC yesterday. We had 42 degrees with rain again today. It was nice to watch snow melt. We lost almost 1/3 of our snow. But, on Tuesday we will be back to 32 degrees with snow. I guess I have to put that extra blanket back on the perch tonight. How about sharing some hot chocolate with me? OOPS ... it's snowing already tonight!

  Heya, Miss Jenny!
We are officially in winter. I hate to say it, but our lovely (though dark and grey and rainy) temperatures are gone for good until spring. IT SNOWED today. Mom was less than thrilled. She took the city streets home tonight as she did not want to deal with the idiots on the expressway. It was not too bad, but as she got closer to home, you could see how the snow was much heavier. She dragged out the boots she bought--they are Skechers, and they are waterproof, insulated and make her feet look like gunboats. But they are comfy for walking as far as she has to from her parking structure. And she can't understand why these idiots don't clean off their cars/trucks if they are out in the snow. They turn on the windshield wipers and have that much visibility. Meanwhile, the snow on the roof of their car blows off and really makes the guy behind them suffer. UGH! Hate snow. We are up for 3-5 inches, so you know how not excited we are.

Glad to be back on the BC. Not sure how long it lasts, but at least I can vote for Miss Ruby and say hi to all of ya!

We couldn’t get on BC last night either. Hoping it stays on so we can get our blogs done now tonight. Sometimes at night after I am in bed and covered for the night I hear dad cracking nuts that sit on the coffee table. Sometimes in the day dad will crack one and give me some of it so he does share. I get on the coffee table and knock the bowl off the table and then check all the nuts out to see if I can get them open but never can do that with the walnuts. They are tough nuts! Mom buys almonds in the shell and some of them I can get open though but takes me a long time. “Sometimes I think “what is a friend?” and then I say a friend is some birdy to share the last treat with as I would share with you ” Leaving a vote for you. I hope you guys are having a great day! It's been quiet around here. mom had the day planned out but you know it didn't work out the way it was suppose to.
She got home late this morning and Mandy had misses all the wee wee pads so mom had lots to clean up.
We are making the ham today because the turkey is still too frozen to cook. Maybe tomorrow or the next day. It's all good with me since corn bread is all I'm interested in! Mom got extra of all the sides so we have plenty for when we cook the turkey.
I hope you all enjoy the evening. I just love the football pictures! You guys all look awesome!

  Hi Jen
I am not getting outside for a sunbath today, even though it is just about warm enough. The problem is me! My mom was in my room drinking hot tea from her travel mug for a headache, and I decided I didn't like the mug....and I attacked her hand that was holding it. Yep, another nasty bite, and I am now in my room in time out. I know I have been bad, because I am being very quiet. Mom didn't really yell at me, but she did say Good-bye pretty loud and three times! Haven't seen her since except for lunch. I behaved then, so why am I still a bad boy?

I did get a sunbath yesterday, although since I couldn't blog (thanks a lot, BC) I couldn't tell anybirdy about it. Today is trash day with the big trucks coming around, so I might not have gone outside anyway. Those trucks really scare me. And it is pretty windy here even if it is 75 degrees out.

I may not be blogging tomorrow, because my mom has to drive her friend down to court for an appeal on a disability hearing. If she gets home in time though, I will still be able to blog. We shall see.

Don't forget to vote for Miss Ruby #35469, there are only a few more days to vote!

  Hi Jenny Lynn
We are able to get on BC, YAY! I hope everybirdie else is able to log on today as well.
Mom did the turkey today, she still is showing signs of improvement, and boy, she sure has a good appetite. She also did the RVS animals again. It was okay, though, she had a 2 week break from them. The raccoons outside are getting a little too friendly for mom's taste, so she made lots of noise and banged a lot today to keep them at a distance. The ground hog inside is still wobbly on his feet, but seems to be healing. They are treating those little feet with antibiotics. The raccoon in the RVS room is still aggressive, hard to handle, but everyone there understands the animals, especially inside, are nervous. The bats continue to gorge themselves on mealies! Mom was happy to feed them again today, she really likes them.
After the center, mom did some Thanksgiving shopping, so we think we're ready. Her daughter is buying a fresh local turkey, so it won't need to be defrosted. She will pick it up either tonight or tomorrow night. Mom is hoping it isn't too big for her to lift! Last year, it was a pretty big fellow.
I hope you are having a great day, getting lots of love and scritches. Hugs, Falco

`Ü´ Greetings & A Lovely Monday to You
Miss Jennifer Lynn!

I do hope that your Saturday and Sunday were full of fun and productivity. I know in my case I had to relinquish Momma’s eggsclusive attention and assistance on my Campaign to be your December Bird of the Month to more pressing parrontal matters around our K Kritter Korral. (The portion of Sunday during which Momma was available to bring me to your page for a visit, the BirdChannel was not cooperating. You might say that their GPS was out of order! **TeeHee**)

You see, Momma and Daddy were informed that they could eggspect a visit from my Grandma from Idaho from later today, to last thru Thursday morning when they all gather at Daddy’s youngest brother’s home about an hour away from us for the first Family Celebration with everyone present since Momma and Daddy have known each other. Grandma was eager to be able to spend time here with Momma and Daddy, and all of us fids of course, before joining the rest of the family for a concurrent Celebration of Thanksgiving and her BirthDay on Thursday! Then she will remain with my Uncle and his family until she returns to her home in Idaho later in the week, while my other Uncle comes to pay us a visit over the long weekend.

So, all of this is to say that my visits may be a bit sporadic from now thru the end of the month, due to Grandma’s visit, the Holiday weekend with my Uncle visiting, and the upcoming Milonga Thanksgiving Bowl Game. I do apologize in advance for any visits I shall have to forego. But rest assured that I shall continue to do my utmost to bring you the maximum amount of FootBall information in the time we have left together.

And on that note, let us get straight to the information I’ve promised you next about the Offensive Squad on a FootBall team …

Let’s begin our eggsamination of the individual Positions on the Offensive Squad.

QuarterBack – The Player who usually receives the ball from the Center at the start of each play. He informs his TeamMates in the huddle of the play that will be run and then, after the Center snaps* the ball to him, either hands the ball to a Running Back or throws to a Receiver.

Center – The Player who hikes (or snaps) the ball to the QuarterBack at the start of each play. The term comes from the fact that this Player is flanked on either side by a Guard and a Tackle; he’s the “MiddleMan” (or Center) in a contingent of five Offensive LineMen or Blockers. He handles the ball on every play and also snaps the ball to the Punter and Holder.

Guard – There are two Guards on every play, and they line up on either side of the Offensive Center. The Guards protect the QuarterBack from an Inside Rusher; they block Defenders immediately across from them and also swing out, or pull**, and run toward either end [of the line] to block any Defender when the ball carrier runs wide°.

Come visit me, `Ü´ Ruby Coaches the Offense.

11/24/2014 08:49.44 AM Report This Comment
Tackle – Both Offensive and Defensive, on Offense they are Outside Blockers on the line of scrimmage°°.

Tight End – Serves as a BIG Receiver [Oh MY!] and also a Blocker. Unlike a Wide Receiver, this Player generally lines up beside the Offensive Tackle either to the right or to the left of the QuarterBack. (Also “Strong Side+”)

Wide Receiver – The Player who uses his speed and quickness to elude Defenders and catch the FootBall, but who isn’t primarily a Blocker. Wide Receivers are also known as “pass catchers” [but I-I-I would parrotsonally NOT disparage one so!]. Also called a WideOut.

Running Back – A Player who runs with the FootBall. Running Backs are also referred to as TailBacks and HalfBacks, depending on their exact responsibilities and alignment.

FullBack – A Player who lines up in the Offensive backfield++ and generally is responsible for blocking for the Running Back and pass-blocking to protect the QuarterBack. FullBacks also serve as short-yardage runners.

I would also like to call your attention to a display of several of the basic Offensive Formations which appear in the Gallery at the bottom of my page. (They also appear in my Profile Picture at the top of my page; but they are much clearer and contain eggsplanatory text in the photos in the Gallery.) I hope these are of use to you in recognizing some of what happens on the actual field of play the next time you watch a FootBall Game.

I am also including several definitions of terms used in the above Position Descriptions at the end of this note.

Have a Greyt Day! Perhaps enjoy watching The Jets play The Bills at 7:00 pm on CBS, or The Ravens play at The Saints at 8:30 pm on ESPN. Both times are EST. Remember, it is virtually illegal to watch a FootBall Game quietly. So do what we Avians are most well-known for doing … **S*Q*U*A*W*K** . **I*T** . **U*P** ! ! !

À la prochen frois, mon amie,
[Until next time, My Featheriend]
`Ü´ Ruby Francesca Beongia ♥

*snap—the action in which the ball in handed or hiked by the Center to the QuarterBack, to the Holder on a kick attempt, or to the Punter.
**pull—when a player leaves one area of the field, generally moving back and then over, to block in an area other than his normal position.
°run wide
°°line of scrimmage—the imaginary boundary between the two teams prior to the snap of the ball. The Offense’s and Defense’s scrimmage lines are defined by the tip of the ball closest to them and stretch from sideline to sideline. The Defensive Team usually lines up less than a yard away from where the ball is placed.
+strong side—the side of the Offensive formation where the Tight End aligns. With a right-handed QuarterBack, the strong side is usually to his right side.
++backfield—the group of Offensive Players (the Running Backs and QuarterBack) who line up behind the line of scrimmage (vs the Offensive LineMen and/or Receivers who line up at the line of scrimmage).

It's Popeye.
We see that the BC is back up and running.
Yesterday was "Destroy Birdy Art Day". Mom cleaned our cages. And dad helped. All our hard work! Gone! Oh well, guess we'll just have to start over.
Bob called dad and said that his Palm PDA won't sync with his computer. Dad asked Bob to reboot the computer and then reset his PDA. Rebooting didn't help and Bob doesn't know how to reset his PDA so mom and dad may drive to his house to check it out.
Today will be clear, with a high of 87 and a low of 57.
Hope your day was fun.

I am apologizing for not coming by to see you yesterday!Mom was sitting down and getting our blogs done when all of a sudden we kept getting the Squawkatiel and then the 404 page not found and the runntime error and we couldn't get on BC so Mom thought that if she logged out and then logged back in again she could get us back on but that only made it worse,we couldn't get on period and this happened from late morning to the rest of the day and night,so here we are trying to catch up where we rudely got dumped.Mom will be on the run again tomorrow instead of Wednesday to finish up her Thanksgiving shopping with Nana as she will be going out for the rest of the week,so this is Mom's only day off except for Wednesday maybe!
Its a dark, dismal, dreary pouring rainy day here but the temperatures are warm at 59 and supposedly going up to 61.Its not cold but having no sun and warm weather just doesn't cut it for us!Where is the bright sunshine?
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm GCC hugs and soft GCC kisses to everyone there from everyone here!Loving you always and forever, Dixie and flock and family too!

Come visit me, Gabbie, Kallie, Peepers & Dixie.

  Hi Jenny Lynn
Tried to rain again yesterday but didn't really. Sun was out by the afternoon. The parronts got all the supplies they need to make the Thanksgiving meal. Mom'll start prepping things today so that most things are ready to cook or bake on the day.

Love your QB pic. Go Indians!

Have a great day, wing hugs, beak kisses and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi Jenny Lynn
Sorry we weren't able to blog yesterday. Mom was at the Galleria, a shopping area about 20 miles (through city traffic) away. The event started at 12 and ran to 4, but the folks from the wildlife center wanted all the volunteers there at 11 to help set things up, and of course, they stayed at the end to put it all back in the vans. Mom and her partner had Quincy and Dan Quail; Jake the snake was at another table, and Ray the crow was in still another location on the second level. On the third level there were programs every hour featuring Murphy the skunk and Martha the Great Horned Owl. There were also refreshments and kid crafts, as well as face painting on that level. It was a fairly large event to organize and pull off so far from the center, but a local auto company outfitted a van and donated it for a year. It has cages in it, and is comfortable for a lot of animals, and has cats, dogs, and wild animals painted on the sides so we can now transport critters to events and hopefully make more cash.
Anyway, mom was pretty tired when she got home so she spent the evening cuddling with us and crocheting things for Christmas.
Today mom has 2 public tours in Dinosaur hall, but she'll be home making out the shopping list for Thanksgiving and being with us afterwards. We were going to try a Hubbard squash pie this year, but mom left the squash on the back deck, and it froze, so it's not good for anything except squirrels and deer now. Mom tossed it and the pumpkins over the hill for the animals this morning.
Our weather, after freezing rain yesterday morning (during the drive, of course), has turned warmer. It was in the high 40s when we got up today, and it's supposed to carry through until tomorrow, and be nice once again. It's probably our last hurrah, though. We can expect wintery conditions to get here again on Wednesday. Oh, and the furnace is finally up and running reliably after the guy replaced some pressure switches on Friday. I hope you are having a great day and getting lots of attention and love. Hugs, Falco

Come visit me, Gizmo, I miss you, sweet boy, Willie, Happy Thanksgiving, Peppino, Happy Thanksgiving, Divo & Falco, Happy Thanksgiving.

Black Friday is such a waste, as far as I'm concerned, and don't see the need. It's like Christmas around here all the time with all the toys pops makes for us. RT

Come visit me, Screech & Roof Top.

  Hi Jenny Lynn
Looking mighty fierce in your FB helmet girlfriend!
But hey .... I am a human-birdie ... my mom says so!!! LOL! I have a lot of personality and show it ... a little too much sometimes. What does mom mean by that?As for shopping on Thursday/Friday ... not for my parronts. We believe that this shouldn't be going on Thanksgiving Day at all. Friday is bad enough. Mom doesn't like to shop when the crazy amateurs are out. Cyber Monday is just fine to stay home and hit a few buttons on the puter.
We enjoyed 38 degrees and lots of melting snow today. It was nice to have rain and fog for a change. Maybe it will get as high as 41 with rain on Sunday! I think I can take one blanket off the perch tonight!

Come visit me, Chyna ~ Happy Thanksgiving & Bailey ♥ RIP.

  Hi Jenny Lynn and Flock
once again i am sorry i haven't blogged you for a few days. i wanted to but mom couldn't. mom thought her back was going to be ok. she took it easy for a few days so it could heal and it seemed to be getting better. well guess what.? it didn't work. the pain escalated to the point where mom can barely move with out back spasms. she has been sleeping sitting up in bed because if she lays down she cant get up. her sneezing from allergies keeps that back pain in the highest mode. she can't drive her car because it sets off muscle spasms in her back. right now mom is wearing one of those awful spandex sports bras to try and hold those muscles in place. mom thinks her back problems stem from the fact that she was born with an extra set of ribs. yes thats right. mom is a freak. mom thinks those extra ribs must press on nerve which sets these spasms off. anyway don't worry. mom will be ok eventually.

love Cori and Boo Boo

Come visit me, Paddy Cake & Piddy Girl, CORI reigning champ on feed the birdie & BOO BOO VOTE MISS RUBY BOTM 35469.

  Heya, Miss Jenny!
Oh yeah! OMAHA! Mom nearly fell off her chair when she heard a different QB holler OMAHA! during one of the Sunday night games. She forgets who yelled it, but it was definitely not a game with Bronco's! And I know you are gonna be one awesome QB for our team! Can't wait!

You can get better deals on the Monday before Turkey Day. Then on Turkey Day, and then on Black Friday. I don't understand the whole thing, but Mom has it nailed!

Your buddy,

Come visit me, Kaji ~ Vote Miss Ruby #35469 BOTM for December!.
