 I researched and read for the perfect first parrot to fit my personality and home life and decided on a conure. I spread the word around the pet shops in my area and was soon adviced of Blue crowns having been hatched. I learned to hand feed her at the pet shop. When the owner thought she was old enough and I was hand feeding like a pro, Blue came home! We have been inseparable ever since!. |

 Veronica, my owner's 24 year old daughter. I loved her at first but something happened along the way and I could just tear her apart now. The devil makes me do it!
I'm scared of ladders!
 I've learned lots of cool stuff with her and love her feather preening. Mmmmmmm....I get into a trance for the longest time and when she stops, I preen her right back!
 I love "Mom", but if Crissy, the 26 yr. old daughter is around, I only have eyes for her! I absolutely adore her! Mom has to ask Crissy to hand me back or I will nastily bite a chunk out of Mom. Again, the devil makes me do it! But I also "pray" and I whisper when I do..
 Life is for the living!
NOTE TO ALL: Visit Ruby's site. She's putting photos of this awesome Red Factor African Grey she saw at a pet shop. His chest is almost all red instead of gray. It gives him a sort of motley appearance but the feathers seem to be all there..

The rose first became associated with the Derby via a party. Ladies were each presented a rose at a Louisville Derby gathering. Upon seeing the sensation this caused, Colonel M Lewis Clark, founder of Churchill Downs and The Kentucky Derby, made the rose the official flower of the race. The rose garland now synonymous with the Kentucky Derby first appeared in 1896 when the winner received a floral arrangement of roses. In 1904 the red rose became the official flower of the Kentucky Derby. Each year 554 roses are sewn into a green satin backing with the seal of the commonwealth of Kentucky on one end. On the other end is the Twin Spires with the number of the running. The Kroger Company has been the official florist of the Derby since 1987. It is constructed the night before in view of the public.
The winning jockey receives a bouquet of 60 long stemmed roses wrapped in ten yards of ribbon.

We just got a new baby girl (Yellow Collared Macaw)but, she has a respiratory infection. So after her vet appointment on the 28th, if she is well enough, she'll be on the BC.

Welcome back to the BC. It's been a really long time since I've heard from your flock. Hope all is well. I'm on the Crackerjack Conure baseball team. We aren't doing very good with winning but, have a good time.
I helped Kiddo with the May Milonga we did a Milonga Derby like the Kentucky Derby. We had ten birds riding the race, It was a lot of fun.

Hope all is well with you and flock. Yes, it was so sad ... poor Huey. He hung on for a while. But had a heart attack going into his surgery. He had gone thru so much. He is missed a lot. And now, Orbit passed away unexpectedly. No signs of anything wrong. It's so sad to lose a friend.
We are still having snow and it's so cold. Hope you are enjoying your tropical weather.

Sounds like everyone is enjoying your houseguest birdie. You were so kind to take good care of him.
Mom & Dad would love to come to the PR. But, I think all vacations are off for next year. Just this week, a new furnace and now the well had to get 3 new parts including the pump. They had to pull all the pipe out of the ground to fix it (75 feet). Hopefully one day they will be there. Would love to meet you.
Are you going to the Milonga on Dec 11th (8pm EST)?

It's been a long time since I've heard from you pretty girl. Sounds like everyone is healthy....good news!
Yes, we are having snow and starting tomorrow another (at least) week of it! Brr! That is my house. I live on 14 acres in the hilly woods. Dad had the trees taken down for the house, barn, driveway (600 feet to the road). It's really pretty in the spring and summer. My Mom hates fall & winter. We would rather be where you are any day!!!
Sounds like you are enjoying your houseguest birdie. We had a cardinal stay in our home until he recouperated. It was great to hear him sing. He would practice his flying in the house and when he was strong he was released. But, he would come back to visit us a lot. He would hang around the deck and Mom would bring him treats.

Glad to hear you got new meds and that it should clear everything up! We're still gonna be saying a prayer everynight for you cause it never hurts to have extra prayers!
I'm glad your mom and dad are feeling better about Willy. They gave him a good home and lots of love! Even if it was only for a short time, it was the most important thing he ever received and I know he can rest in peace on that bridge! Mom lost a dog to distemper when she was a teenager cause the vet assistant gave the dog the wrong shot and he was exposed to distemper from a neighbors dog and died from it. His name was Barney and that was over 40 years ago and she still thinks about him sometimes, but they are happy thoughts now--like the time her little brother put his underwear on the dog!LOL
Keep going strong and get better quick!! Do not worry about blogging us and tell your mom we're so glad that the tutoring is going well! She's a great lady sharing her knowledge with other people and we think she ROCKS!
