My Husband saw him for the first time and fell in love. Well We picked up 2 birds from the pet store that day..... |

Ichi, Kiwi, and Mav's mom here!
Hello everybirdie! We have gone thru some big changes over here, hence our absence from this place for so long. We lost another flockmate, Tequila, leaving Maverick as the last of my keets. I have taken the profiles down of my babies that have crossed the rainbow bridge, to leave room for any new editions to my flock I may receive, which brings me to my latest news. As you may have heard on the news, Michigan's economy has become horrible, and alot of people are suffering, as well as the animals. Being a michigander myself, I have witnessed first hand the hard times we've fallen upon. My husband lost his job a few months ago, and both of us have been struggling looking for work. That, among other things, put a huge strain on our relationship, and alomst tore us completely apart. Thankfully, we were able to open our eyes and hearts, and work thru our problems and stay together. It was after going thru all of this, and seeing the growing number of homeless and abused pets, that I realized I must do something to help. My husband and I are opening our home to unwanted parrots. I have placed an ad on craigslist to help get the word out, and I'm spreading the word on here as well. Now being that we are hard pressed for cash, and don't have that much space, we are asking for any help and assistance people are willing to give. Donations, volunteers, advice, anything of that nature is welcome. Remember that I am not doing this for myself, this is for parrots. Bongo!
It's Kelly! How are you, Handsome Guy? It's been too long since I stopped by your page for a chat. Tell me, what's new with you? Here with me there's always something new. The newest is that I'm no longer Miss Quiet and Still. I'm now busy-busy-busy, flying here, flying there, checking everything out. Where I used to like to hide out in the back of the bottom shelf of the closet when it was open during room cleaning time, I know hang out on the top shelf (where things have a lot farther to fall from when I drop them off) or even on top of the open closet doors. Where I used to sit quietly on a cage top perch, I now clammer all over the room, scouting out the hanging branches on the ceiling or the boing over by the door. I'm a wild and crazy girl now compared to the contemplative grey I've been for years. It's like a switch has been flipped, mom says.

Dear Bongo,
I hope you had a wonderful day, a day that makes a grey feel greyt. May the blessings of the day, fill your hearts with joy that lingers through the coming year.
I have spent most of my waking hours shredding paper. You wouldn't believe the mess I made. Pringle even came and helped me for awhile, until I looked at her, that being the cue for her to leave.
I'm now settling down for a good preening session after some serious flying which thoroughly wore me out.
Mama and I got a wonderful gift, a new backpack carrier that Mama says is much more comfortable for her than my old one. As long as I'm comfortable, I'm fine. I've even been in it and it's not all that scary.

Hello,
Yes, my mommy does sing to me. I have a song when I get up in the morning, and a song when I go to bed at night. Plus we sing "congo-bongo-birdie, congo-bongo-boy!
I love to sing. I also sing doo, doo, doo and ask my mommy to sing with me too. :)
What is your favourite game? Mine is peekaboo. I love to play - and if I stick my head in my food dish, it echoes when I ask "where's congo?" :) :)Come visit me, Congo.

Hello Bongo,
We hope that your day was filled with fun, and staying away from all the scary stuff.
Our blogging time has been really limited this past summer and still continues to be that way. I do think of you all the time and all of my birdie friends on here.
I'm chewing on a leather toy, while I dictate to my typist. I've had a very active day, tossing all my toys on the floor, over and over demanding them to picked up so I can toss them again. I spent lots of time at the window, seeing if any of the dogs would go by, then flying like a maniac around the room full speed because it was so exciting. If the dog still happened to be in view, then another spin around the room was called for. Then I had a greyt preening time with Toad. I was hanging upside down from my ring swing above my cage and preening ferociously while leaning on Toad, who happened to be perched up on a box that I've been spending hours digging and scratching in. It's been a very eventful day overall.
I hope you are having a greyt weekend.

Something very exciting is happening on the BC; the friends of Romeo the Umbrella Cockatoo from TN have nominated him to be our next BOTM. Bongo and Flock
Hello from Nibbles and the flock. We haven't been on much lately either...but that's because mommy and daddy are so busy....they are only home in the evenings for a few hours...good thing we get out of our cages enough..and they still make sure we get lots of love. Dad built us an outside aviary when they are home we get to go in it and play around...he even put a doohicky where if you plug the hose into it, we get a misty sort of bath...and let me tell you...that's heaven on earth! We all love it so much! Especially when it's hot out. Well my friends...that's about it for now...but we will stop in periodically to say hello. Sorry I haven't stopped by sooner. Mom's laptop had to go out again to be fixed.Dad was on vacation last week and kepted her busy .
Then mom hurt her finger it's still not right and hurts.It's all swollen again... Thanks to mom not watching what she doing. It's been pretty borning around here on our end.

It's good to see you again. I know there's a note from you and your flock on my page but I've been so wrapped up in sharing thank yous for the kind words left on Turk's page (he's my flockmate), I've not had time to respond to my own notes. I promise you, I'll get to it one of these days. The outpouring of sympathy for our little cater-boy has been so wonderfully kind. If I might share a special memory, it was at The Masquerade Ball that celebrated my being the BOTW, on September 19 of the year 2008, at 4:47 pst that Turk served his first food: *a great caldron of beef and carrot stew is set upon the Banquet Table*. While the rest of us reveled and frolicked, Turk catered to our culinary desires, a small deed that brought the little blue boy into the limelight. He had a way of doing that here at home as well— a little bird who was able to quietly capture attention even though he was surrounded by much bigger birds in his home-flock.
Again, I thank you for your thoughtfulness in stopping by Turk's page and sharing a heart-felt note. I, with you, will miss Turk. Our little T '>

Thanks for the update. Sounds like things are going on in your neck of the woods. Sure hope things work out for your doggy. Mom loves dogs (me, not so much), and she will keep good thoughts for him. Mom has never gotten me a mate, because she is afraid I will do what Niah did. It would break her heart.

Soory we haven't been On in a long long time.. we had a pretty bad year here.My sister got sick. It's been months for her to recoop. She still not to 100 percent. the Doc say she probably never will. Then last week moms brother had a heart attack. She spent all week traveling back and forwards to the hospital. Hopefully things will look up for mom really soon.. I turned a year and I am still pretty small for a congo grey. But I am a really heavy little rascal Mom says.. As long as I am healthy Mom is Happy...

Kelly here. It must be my lucky day because I'm finally getting in some quality BC time! I wonder how your summer's progressing. Mine has been an enjoyable one so far with lots of outdoor time, visits from the neighbor birds (Jen, Christy & Art) and Happy Hour every night when mom lets me sit on her knee while she watches M*A*S*H reruns on DVD. At the moment I'm here by the desk, preening a wing feather and spreading dander every where. Hey, isn't that what a Grey's supposed to do? Create dust? My latest favorite saying is "It's okay, BooBoo" and "Kennel up, dogs." I've decided that cantaloup tastes pretty good and I'll be sad to see corn on the cob gone for the season.
