Pedro was a 9 month old parrot that was offered for sale in a bird store that was going out of business. I had always wanted a yellow naped amazon and he was UNBELIEVEABLY affordable! He was very shy and didn't like to be touched or held, however he didn't bite. I could just tell that he would be a great bird and a wonderful pet. My son also wanted him and just had to have him. He was actually purchased for my son. Although he joined our family unexpectedly and on a whim, he is a friendly, smart and beautiful member of our flock. He is the 4th parrot that has joined us. My son had just viewed the movie Napolean Dynamite, prior to getting this bird, and he decided to name the new bird "Pedro". After we had Pedro for about 2 weeks he started saying "good girl". It was at this point that we started referring to this new parrot as female (for several years). Once Pedro became a little older and became protective of Rocket, I started to think that he was a boy after all. Pedro has never had a DNA test, but I now believe that he is a male. Pedro has became an amazing talker and is learning how to say some of Rocket's favorite phrases, too..

Active within 3 Days Hi! My name is PEDRO, The Destroyer!!! I am a Yellow-Naped Amazon from whiting, NJ. Pae, Pae Pae, Pae Birdie, Badro, poo poo birdie 9 years old M Yellow-Naped Amazon Pedro's favorite treats are Lafeber's Nutri Berries. He also likes cashews and macadamia nuts, as well as Kashi heart to heart cereal and whole grain bread or toast. All of our birdies love to have a bit of cheddar cheese for a treat, too! Pedro loves to play on the top of his cage on his play gym with all of his birdie toys. He is fond of all sorts of bird toys and spends lots of time with them. Pedro's very favorite spot to be is sitting on Mom's shoulder! He also likes to hang out on his portable sandy perch, with "the flock" during the evening, while watching tv. Pedro also enjoys his bathtime in the shower on a shower perch. He especially likes it when he is joined by "Rocket Birdie". Pedro is a coach and relief pitcher for the Bird Channel "Wonder Wings" baseball team. Pedro is a quiet and encouraging baseball coach, but he gets mad when he doesn't get a turn to pitch during the game! LOL Pedro doesn't like it when Rocket (African Gray) just won't leave him alone, while they are outside of their cages and playing. Pedro also doesn't like to have anyone reach inside of his cage to get him, unless he is ready to come out on his terms! Pedro started out as Dominick's parrot, but now prefers Mom. "I love how my owner gets me a morning snack even before she has her own breakfast. As soon as the refrigerator door opens, I just say "Pedro's hungry" and mom knows just what I want. My owner gives me lots of birdie toys and I play on my playgym everyday. I also like to shower on my shower perch with my owner and with my african gray friend, "Rocket". My owner shares her time with all of us flock members!" Pedro had a strange infatuation with an orange "rubber octopus" toy that he had. He slowly destroying it, although it is supposedly "bird proof" against chewing. Pedro greets me when I come down in the morning by saying "How's my girl??!!!" Hee also asks for food anytime that he hears the refrigerator door being opened; and he says "MMMM Pedro wants food", and "Pedro is a very hungry parrot!" Pedro furiously flaps his wings as a sign of strength whenever African Gray "Rocket" is out of his cage at the same time that he is. When playing with toys, Pedro also enjoys laying on his back in his food dish (which is attached to the upper bars of his cage)while playing with toys. It is a pretty funny sight to see him laying on his back while holding a toy up in the air with his feet and growling at the toy. He also makes very dainty burping and "gas passing" noises at random. (He recently learned this from Rocket, who learned it from my son.) Rocket has been burping and passing gas for years, but his sound very manly and very loud! Pedro talks in a very delicate, kind voice.. If you want to keep me out of trouble, give me lots of toys!! If you want to keep me quiet, feed me!!!.

Here we go; our first ball game! I am so ready. Can't wait to grab that bat, tap the home plate, and then swing for the fences. It's gonna feel good to be out on the field with a whole bunch of awesome Amazons and even better, being in the dugout welcoming our scoring teammates back home.

...today I am calling our last pre-season practice and workout before opening day, and it will be at Kevlar Field! We are a good team, but there are a lot of good teams this year, and the only way we can get a step up on them, is to practice hard! We all need it, myself included! Thank you so much for the congrats! Boy was I surprised! It's been a wonderful day and I am so blessed to have so many great friends! What more could a little green zon want???
Mom made pancakes for dinner so that was super special too. I just love pancakes! Now if I could just get her to go to Starbucks and nab me a crannberry orange scone the day would be perfect!hahahahahaha

Recently I have been mentioning terror, death, and devastation, today I wish to talk about the beauty of Spring, the Daffodils, Hyacinths, and tree buds preparing to open! I will say however, way to go the Boston FBI, one down, and at least one to go! Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord, and this time, also to the good people of Boston! Alfie, Sugar, and I are calling a Raider's light work out and practice at the BB field, for Thursday and Friday, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM! We'll run some laps, do some jumping jacks, squats, and sit-ups, and other light stretching exercises and when you are warmed up, find somebody to play catch with! Although this is an informal practice session, I want you all to take it seriously, I want to be able to count on you during long grueling games! Please come join us if you can make it...BRING YOUR GLOVES...

Would you please consider being on our Amazon Raiders baseball team this year, I am the head coach, and we would love to have you! You need not be there for every game, but check in once in awhile to show your team spirit! Even the Reserves play as much as the starters, and there will be fewer games and a shorter season, so as not to burn anybirdy out! So, here’s what we got. Last year’s Officiatin’ Staff o’ The Birdie BazeBol League’ve been mullin’ it over an’ they’ve come up with a Jim Dandy idea to help stave off the cravin’s that some o’ you Birdie BazeBol Players an’ Fans’ve been sufferin’ from, ‘cause o’ the lack o’ playin’ this Season.

They’ve all put their heads t’gether to give us a one-time opportunity t’ play ourselves a little BazeBol THIS summer! YuP! YaHooooo!! We’re goin’ back t’ Th’ Stadium!!! The 2012 All*Star Birdie BazeBol game’ll be played at KEVLAR Memorial Stadium th’ afternoon o’ Saturday, August 18th. Th’ plan is t’ play BazeBol startin’ at 3:00 pm CENTRAL TIME, an’ then party that night at the same time we always party for Th’ Milonga! (Translation for th’ Time Zone Challenged: 4:00 pm Eastern, 2:00 pm Mountain, 1:00 pm Pacific.That’s for the BazeBol Game now!)

So, I’m here right now t’ fill y’uns in on all th’ What-Not’s an’ Why-For’s of how this thing is gonna work. So tuck yer feathers b’hind yer ear holes and listen up ….

Th’ first thing that has t’ happen is CHOOSIN’ TEAMS.

Here’s how that’s gonna work. See this here hat I got in my wing? Well, right over there on that table is a bunch o’ scraps o’ paper for y’all t’ write your names on an put in th’ hat.

BUT THERE’s A CATCH!

There’s only ONE birdie PER FLOCK allowed to put their name in th’ hat ! ! ! I know. I KNOW! But there’s only 12 positions available on two teams so we gotta make it so’s as many flocks get a chance t’ play as possible, an’ this was the fairest way the Umps could think of.

So … Two teams; twelve players each (10 reg’lar positions an’ 2 reserves). One team’s gonna be ALL GIRL~BIRDS and one team’s gonna be ALL BOY~BIRDS!

We’re gonna keep the “HAT” out ‘til July 15. Then those Umps’ll pick the players for each team out o’ the hat … lottery style. An’ th’ positions’ll be assigned th’ same way too … lottery style.

You can bring all your little pieces o’ paper with your names writ on ‘em t’ my page so’s Th’ Kommish don’t miss any of ‘em. Bring ‘em t’ MY PAGE (#66865). Them ol’ soft hearted Umps decided it would be nice t’ honor th’ most recent Rainbow Bridge Departees in namin’ the teams for this here All*Star Game, just like they honored ‘em at th’ Milonga that night. SO … The GIRL~BIRDS’ team is gonna be called “Th’ Angel Wings” an’ th’ BOY~BIRDS team is gonna be known as “Berts at Bat”. Got a nice ring to it, don’t it?

Th’ Team Line-Ups’ll be announced at th’ next Milonga, July 21st.

Glad you stopped by. Finally the holidays are over and I have time to get back to my friends. I am still working on basketball.Momma says I am improving. Maybe baseball would work better for me too.
I have a yellow-naped brother Amando. He talks like crazy. He's very cuddly with my Momma. I don't cuddle at all, so I guess that's ok.
I woke up to see snow. My house is in front of a window so I can see outside. Didn't like to see the snow. Me, I love the summer because I go outside everyday. Now I have to pretend I am in the tropics.
Momma just told me it's time for me to go downstairs and get my breakfast. Please stop in anytime for a visit. I left my vote.

One more day to go from Zak
Oct 30th… and only one more day to go. Many of you have asked me if I have gone crown shopping yet. YES – and I found a gorgeous one and the big guys have already wanted to get at it. It’s mine, all mine I tell them. Mom is helping me to get ahead of things and letting me start on blogs for today now, so that tomorrow, we will be ready to give you the final chapter of the History of the Speedo. But here is the one just before that…
Another collaboration between Speedo and academia netted a line of designer fashions. Teams of students from the London College of Fashion, University College Falmouth and the University of Huddersfield have reused the material to create a complete fashion line including casual slacks, jackets, and even different forms of swimwear. Speedo International president David Robinson said in a press release "we are pleased to see this quality of talent emerging from the universities that have taken part. Speedo is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and as such it is good to see the Speedo LZR Racer live on in these innovative designs”.

Thanks for helping me out here. Yes we sure are on a roll with the baseball team this year. The # in the email was wrong cause we did it that way too and couldnt go on but here is the right #123746. It wont be long now and the month will be over thinks Chi chi to herself. Chi chi jumps in her bath bowl and splashes around and puts on her party dress and looks in the mirror. Yep she looks ready to go out on the town tonight. She fixes her feathers just so and out the door she goes. Walking up to the dance hall she is hoping all her friends will be there to party with her tonight. She walks in and tells the bartender free pizza and drinks for all her friends tonight and put it on her tab. She announces tonight for every vote she will do the can can dance. The music starts and the votes do too and pretty soon Chi chi is laughing and doing the can can for everyone. I am getting closer each day to BOTM for October and this would of never happened with out all your help and thank you so much! Chi chi gets her bath and puts on her beautiful dress and goes out the door. Uh oh she comes back for her purse and puts some feathers in it and heads out the door again. She is walking slowly to the dance hall and hoping her friends will all be there. When she walks in no birdy is around. She sits and has a sasparella and ponders where would all her friends be tonight. She hears a loud bang and looks around to see all her friends coming in the door at once and knows this is going to be fun time in the old town tonight with all her rowdy friends. Oh I am so happy to see you all my friends Chi chi announces and tears roll down her cheeks at the sight of every birdy that has stuck with her with this whole month. She holds up the feathers and says every birdy that leaves me a vote gets a feather tonight. Chi chi thinks Pedro is a very sweet too. Here Pedro I gave you a boa I had just for you! Thank you for all your help and votes along this journey for BOTM for me. As you all know this isn’t something any birdy can do all alone so I sure do appreciate all your help along the way. More then I can ever tell you! Chi chi gets all dressed up and puts multiple leg garters on both legs in different colors and sizes. She stuffs a lot more into her purse. Chi chi cheeches as she walks up to the dance hall and is all excited to see her friends again tonight. When she walks in she tells the bartender all drinks and refreshments are on her tonight. I have never been BOTM and been on here for 5 years now and is a dream I have had for a long time. I have been practicing the Can Can dance and I decided for every vote you leave me I will do that dance just for you! it’s a very fast paced dance and if any birdy wants to learn it I am willing to teach it at the milonga perhaps. When mom went grocery shopping she got all paper bags and they are huge! Mom thought they would be like the fruit stand bags but they are a lot bigger. Thanks for the toy idea! It's awesome! Mom would have to try that but I don't really show interest in dried pasta so it wouldn't work too well. Um, just letting ya know if you want to shoot us a regular blog to visit my page because Mom checks it a lot more and will get back to you sooner. So how's your day going?
