 Our friend, a dental hygienist, had a man in her chair complaining of how his son was irrespoinsible and had a couple birds he wasn't caring for. He and my friend decided to take the birds from him. She is an animal lover, but REALLY afraid of birds and took them in anyway. She called us for advice and we decided to bring them home. The nanday conure, Kiwi, was in bad shape with severe malnutrition, a swollen liver and kidney problems and needed imediate treatment. She almost died, but pulled through with her lovebirds friend, Jellybean, by her side. Over the years, she has become robust and happy. After we lost Jellybean to heart disease, our cockatiel fell for her. She cares nothing for him, but he watches over her. She loves attention, but can forget easily who her friends are.. |
