 OH my I am heart broken, I just lost this beautiful swee baby. Never have I had such a wonderful pet. 2/21/13 will be the worst memory of my life so far. My son bought a lory and we all fell in love with the breed. I search and found a local breeder. Went for a look and fell in love with one baby that had orange instead of red on the chest. He or she is the best bird anyone could ever have.Well Meko is a female cuz she just laid and egg 7/17/09.. |

Hi Meko,
Hi, how are you? Thanks for coming to visit me. I have been very quiet the last couple of months and not been to visit anyone. Why? No particular reason, just happy doing my own thing and besides its winter here and we all seem to be hibernating somewhat. The weather is cold and very wet. We amuse ourselves by having friends visit and my mum also has had a few international students staying over at various times. They stay for a period of 10 days and go to the International High School in our area. The kids are usually between 13 - 17 yrs old and come from various places; Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia. It is a Homestay program, an Australian school experience and a wonderful opportunity for them. We enjoy having them here in our home but it keeps Mum extra busy. We have 2 very nice chinese boys at the moment. I'm learning to say hello in different languages! Heeheee Squark!!! Well, have a great day, I've got to fly now. Hiya Meko!
A quiet Lory?! I have never heard of such a birdie!! hahhh!!! My mom thought I was getting sick last week while her and dad had a few days off from work. Dad rolled my cage outside with me in it and hosed it down. Its pretty warm here in Fl. I was outside having a great time. Mom videod me if you wanna go check my video out ... look up Mango in the video section of BC.
That night I got real quiet and went to bed early. Mom thought it was just because of the long day I had and being outside. The next day I stayed in my sleepy hut most of the day. I have never done that before so mom new there was something wrong. I did come out to eat every now and then. The next day mom was getting ready to call the vet and I started acting a bit better. Ya know, eating, dancing and playing but I was still sorta quiet.. Never ever ever have I been quiet like this!! yesterday and Today I am 100% my old hyper self again!

Meeks here, we ended up woth rain again, thank goodness, otherwise we would still be digging out!! Hoping that you all are well and warm!! Daddy opened up some windows in our nest today, as it is pretty mild out, and he said we need fresh air.. They are not opened in the rooms we are in though.. Mom has our doors closed so we dont get a draft, and she plans on closong them real soon. She is such a paranoid mommy!! VOTE4U, Hi Hon!! I hope your flock is having a good New Year!! We are doing good. Libby is still being bitey but I'm still hoping she'll come around. She is VERY flerty lately(hormones?) and a week ago Mom let me sit on her seed catcher and flert back hoping we'd get closer but then she got to worrying tht Lib might get a hold of me. So she had me step up on her hand & I did but then when she set me on her chest where I AWAYS sit, I ran directly up to her lip took a big bite and held on. She was so shocked she grabbed me up and back in my cage I went! I don't think Mom was even too mad cause I heard her say to Dad "It was my fault, I didn't realize how excited he had gotten talking to Libby". Yea, that's what I'm going with, I would never hurt Mom, I don't know what came over me!! It's been a week and her lip is all better, thank goodness since it was so big before!! I've notice I haven't gotten to talk much to Libby since. LOL Mom just got back from the Parrot Festival in TX, we couldn't go but Daddy watched us for the 1st time, we didn't starve & he even took us out at night! He's coming around real good!! Mom is home with us now, quit her full time job after working since 14, she says it's weird but we love it!! Extra time out & more time with Mom!! She's working on getting her website for toys & bird things going. She says she's taking her time to get it right the 1st time. I think she's enjoying sleeping in and spending time with us!!
