I'S ME BUDDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, my mom hasn't been on for a long time. She wants to thank all of you for visiting me and talking to me but she has a job now and hasn't done my blog for a while. I am not picking my feathers as much any more and even grandma looked at me and said I looked really handsome. I did pick a bit last spring after mom got the flu but I finely realized she was okay and have stopped, at least for now. I am a happy bird now and feel like I am home. My mom doesn't have a digital camera so no new pictures, but maybe Uncle Brian will send me some at Christmas time if he remembers his camera. LOVE AND KISSES! Hi Buddy, I am a goffin from Iowa. I was a wild caught bird also. My mom got me past my fear of people and hands with love ,time,and patience. I am a plucker when I get stressed . My plucking is better than it used to be. I like alomonds alot to. My mom says to give you alot of different toys especially shredding and preening toys to see if this aleviates boredom and gives you something else to focus on besides feathers. My flock mates consist of 4 cockatiels, 1 senegal, 1 quaker, 1 finch, and a rescued plucking, self mutilating moluccan cockatoo. Hey Buddy! We are VERY HAPPY for you. we are all rescues in this house too. We have different pasts but for sure now we all have a wonderful place here. Mom wanted me and waited 30 yrs til she had time to care for a Macaw. I am Phoenix. She also wanted a Molaccun, Noah, so she is very happy to have her dream birds. We are both thrilled to just have her. we get all kinds of attention. while she was finding us Auntie drove around with her they found two other lesser sulphur crests in huge trouble, and Auntie was adopted by Ms.Nikki Bird. She was at the same centre I was. Ms.Nikki Bird changed her name from just plan nikki to the Ms.Nikki Bird one day. I love to go any where with Mom the best is to swim with her. Noah is not ready to try that goo thing. It's our special time. Those two little guys were starved and almost dead when auntie & Mom came across them. Well I just want to stop on your page with Mom and say hello Buddy. Noah & I are not allowed to play on Mom's computer alone any more since Noah ate the new key board. So we must wait til Mom or Anutie have time to stop on the web site to visit friends. Having our routine is key to us all getting healthier mentally & physically. Buddy sounds like you will be so much happier where you are now. hi buddy! i'm riki, and like u cockatoos, we cags are prone to feather picking. i'm still young and havent shown any signs of it except normal preening, but my mommy's worst fear is that one day i'll pick and pick and lose all my pretty feathers and catch a cold cuz i dont like towels or blankets put on me. but all we can ask for is lots of attention and play time and toys to keep us distracted. good luck, buddy! Buddy We had a Goffin's best bird we ever had...Patience and confidence is the key...if he see's you are mad, upset or angry he will reply appropriately. Our's died from a bad carpet in our new home. We miss him so much...put him in what we thought was a safe place, didn't know that the previous owner of the house used that room for a hair salon so when we turned on the heat, the chemicals were released and it killed him. But he was Ours for four years and he was the most loving, playful, and friendly bird we have ever owned. Patience is the key with Goffins. Love your Blog and you get my vote.
