Active within 5 Days Hi! My name is Cookie I am a Green-Cheeked Conure from St Charles, IL. "cookie-bird" 5 years old F Green-Cheeked Conure Yogurt covered papaya and flakes from Honey Bunches of O's I love sitting on my playgym in the four-seasons room where there's lots of window to check out the backyard! I get all "fired up" if I hear when they let the dogs outside and didn't come get me to supervise! They both love to hang out with me and take me along when they do stuff. I am the "Official-Doggy- -Letter-Outer". It's my job to "supervise" and yell "Run-Free", "Run-Free" in my own "chirpy" way. They all know what I'm saying--that's why they do it! I "screech" if anyone brings a penguin stuffed toy around me..or anything bright red!. "Whatcha doin?..Whatcha doin?...I'll do it too!".

Hi Cookie!
It's kind of slow here this week and no baseball for our team although Picabo, Scion and Budweiser each have games! Did you have a fun weekend? We were outside most of the weekend and our parronts were home to play with us the entire time. Dad cut up some coconuts to make toys for us. Mom worked on arts and crafts. We mostly watched the grackles and doves in the yard. There are a lot of them now. We also have a feral cat that comes by for breakfast and later for dinner. That is ok as long as she stays off our porch!
Well, gotta fly to watch Picabo play ball. Have a fun Tuesday!

You did great at the game last week! I was very proud of the team. I hope you get in some practice this week since we have off! And tell your mom that is so nice of her to bring the snacks and gatorade for our next game on the 27th! That is wonderful and so generous of you both!
Hope you had a nice weekend! It is super hot here. I can't get in the mood to practice in this heat. I'd rather be in my water bowl taking a bath! hehehe!

How is your weekend going? Mom had some running around to do this morning and got home after 1:00. After putting groceries away and cutting up fruit and veggies for us she had to start dinner in the slowwwww and I mean slowww cooker! :) Mango spent the afternoon outside because he was driving mom nutzzzz! Mom was cooking and he was screaming for whatever it was she was making!! heehehe..He can be soooo annoying!! Mom got mad and told dad to roll him outside on to the patio... It works every time!!That brat gets to go outside while mom is cook'n and cleaning! It was a beautiful sunny warm 87 day!! :)

Our First Game is Thursday 5/16 @ 3 pm
Crackerjack Conures!!!!!
Listen up! Our first game will be Thursday against the Wonder Wings team! It should be a great game and we're playing against my frother Scion! hehehe! The first pitch goes at 3 pm EST. If you can't be there during the game, try to fly over to the stadium either earlier or later to see what is going on there. This year participation is everything and it will be checked by the officials! I sent out the season calendar with all our games on it yesterday in an email. Let me know if you didn't receive it!

I have two chores for the team!
1. Please blog me your hatch day - so we can be sure to give your the hatch day wishes from the team on your special day.
2. Please fly around and say hi to each CJC team member. We do have some new team members this year and we need to make them welcome! The team roster is on my profile page with everybirds' page number.

Tomorrow is Opening Day - the events begin at 2:30 EST but the first pitch is at 3 pm EST and the White Hawks are playing the Pois. It will be a great game if you have a chance to fly by! See you there! And see you at our first game on Thursday afternoon!

So you had a bad storm a couple of days ago. I've not yet had anything serious here which is just fine with me. I don't particularly care for it when the thunder shakes the whole house and the lightening seems intend on frying my house. And worse is when I have to be stuffed in a carrier along with Jensen and Zorro and hauled to the basement where I'm told to just sit tight, like there's anything else to do. The emergency carriers are not tricked out in entertaining toys, that's for sure.

This week's had three beautiful days so far, with today being another one. I've been out to the bird barn a couple of times but since I got my wings trimmed sometime mid-winter, I'm stuck just sitting on the boing by the front open area. There'll be no flying around in there for me for a long while. It's going to be easy not to be tempted to fly between bases either come baseball time. I'm stuck shuffling everywhere!

The CJCs will have a baseball practice at Kevlar Stadium #239836 on Saturday at 1 pm CST - that's 2 pm EST! I hope you'll be able to fly over. It's a little short notice but then again, baseball season kickoff is almost upon us - May 6th!
We will also have informal practices at the Stadium next week on Tuesday night at 8 pm EST and on Thursday night at 8 pm EST!
I also have the following workout routine for you to try out at the stadium on your own time!
Five times running around the bases - no flying!
10 sit up at each base, including home
10 jumping jacks at each base, including home
Hop up to the top of the perch stands and back down once
And 5 squats at each base, including home
Feel free to do that workout as many times as you like on the stadium page 239836!
And if anybirdie has any amazing cheers - please let our head cheerleader Kallie know at 195234!
Hope to see you all at the Stadium on Saturday afternoon!

... for your note on my winning day yesterday, and the hatchday wishes too. There's nothing quite like TWO days in a row of TLC (totally lucky conure) — I could easily get use to a royal lifestyle like that.

As for my name, well, as I remember it, my full name in my first home was Sunshine but my mom was told I rarely heard that, instead being called all sorts of silly nicknames, some of them not so nice because I had a habit of pinching people. To keep in line with the "Sunshine" name, sun RISE was one of the words tossed around as a permanent name was decided on and from the word "rise" came Riza. I get the feeling most are pronouncing it reeeza but I'm hearing it here as Riza with a long i.

Here's hoping you're enjoying a sunny spring day, one that blessed with beauty all around you.

Hey Cookie! I'm looking forward to baseball season, as it means the human will have to turn on the laptop more often and my social life will improve...lol... Nope, nothing going on with the house, it's still up for sale and things are still super slow here. The human is considering taking it off the market if it doesn't sell by the end of summer, nothing much happens around here in the winter. Mom will find out about the insurance company and her meds tomorrow. She is feeling pretty optimistic, so hopefully her gut feeling is the right one.
Our weather continues dreary here, although it is in the upper 60s. So not too awful, but not warm enough for a sunbath and totally overcast. It looks like it wants to rain, and that would be a good thing. We haven't had enough water falling out of the sky here this winter.
Mom spent a while on the phone and computer today helping her friend who went back to college. Mom is the grammar queen, and she edits Judy's term papers for her. This was a really boring one, even Judy thought so...but then it is a boring class Economics in Democracy. Mom sais she thought the paper should do really well though. She enjoys helping; almost like going back to school! For some reason though, they never let me help.

Its sooo good to see you!I've been sitting on my thermal perch a little more each day and it's making my MOm really happy to see me sitting on it! She even comes down in the middle of the night to see if I'm still on it! I'm working really hard to get my feet working,I'm not going to miss playing baseball,I've waited over a year to do this!
Mom's been keeping me caged so that I can rest my sore legs and sit on the thermal perch but my Dad came home before my Mom did on Friday and he let me out and Mom came home and found me on the floor,she was none too happy but Dad couldn't stand to hear me crying to be let out when everyone else was out having fun!

My Mom got me a thermal perch the other day and I just started to really use it this morning and it really feels sooo good to my swollen feet and ankles! I thought I wasn't going to like it,but I really do,I just wanted to give my Mom a hard time first! LOL! I'm behaving myself and trying to get better so I can be ready to play ball!

Baseball is just around the corner now! Did you have a nice winter? Kirby's mom is doing our team pictures and they should be ready in a couple of days. They look really great! I'm so eggscited we're all getting to play again and it's mostly our original team. We had workers here last week and I spent a lot of time squawking and supervising them. Getting my voice ready for yelling at the ump! hehehe!

I am looking forward to playing on the team again after last year, and not having a BB season. We sure have a fun time!

How is your weather there? It is snowing here now in WV, but I think the most of it has passed and is moving east. We have about 2 1/2 inches of wet snow on the ground, just great for driving in.

Well, the practice part anyway, but that's just as exciting... getting to run into you more often, toss a ball back and forth, pop a few flies out towards the back wall so you can practice making the catch that's going to be the third out and GAME OVER... the CJCs WIN!!!!!!

Hi, Fantastic Conure Teammates! Baseball is a barely over a month away. Now, we're past the holidays, Valentine's, the Oscars, so it's time to get a moving and shaking those tailfeathers and get in shape!!!!

Oooo! English muffin! That you would share yours with me speaks volumes. Is that what you're holding in your profile picture - Eng. muffin?

I had a great big flake of wheat cereal in my foot the other day. It was so big it caught Zoren's eye and he tried to help himself to it but I kept waving it out of his reach which was nearly causing me to topple over. I'm telling you, the flake was huge! Okay, yes, I'm a little guy so everything might look big in my foot but this flake was a freaky big. I couldn't eat the whole thing so Zoren (the Nanday) eventually got what he wanted. Do you like pomegranate seeds? I love those things and am enjoying them while they're yet in season. In the summer I have to settle for sips of pomegranate juice which is good but I love eating the seeds best.

Hey Cookie! Good to see you! I haven't been on BC much myself lately. Nope, haven't sold the house (it's barely even been shown). The 4 cats are all fine. The human went on computer strike for a while but hopefully she'll get over it. I'm looking forward to baseball season as well, assuming I can get the human to turn on the computer often enough. Darn woman got herself a Kindle Fire HD for Xmas and my social life is taking 2nd fiddle...lol... Hope you enjoyed your day! Cya...

How very sweet of you to visit me yesterday, I would have gotten back with you last night but Mom ran smack dab out of steam, I'm afraid I had her tied to the computer most of the day, she did manage to get some laundry done in between my note..I'm glad to see your playing baseball again this year, it should be a good year. I'll be sitting this one out, during the summer Mom has so much to do with the gardening and yard she just can't be at all our games, so she decide to only let Romeo and Rusty play, but I will be at some of the game rooting for my favorite teams..I love those Cracker Jacks! What's this I'm reading about you being a CJC after all???? Yippee! Yippee! YIPPEE! This is the bestest news ever! *Kirby does a happy dance. A VERY happy dance.*

What's the view out your windows look like these days? There's not a stitch of snow around here. It melted in the last heat wave we had. It was so warm here my uncle saw earthworms crawling around in the yard. I'm not kidding!

I've been practicing for baseball with my new ball, tossing it around all the time. So far nobirdie's gotten their beak in the slots and smashed the bell inside. I was so bummed when that happened with my other ball. There's not much fun in throwing a ball and not hearing it make little ringing sounds.

Hope your weekend's a conuriffic one.
