Another one of a kind!
From what Maude and Harold have told me your species is a "bird of a different color"! I had not even seen a Vasa until I visited bird channel. What are your captive breeding numbers??? I have never seen a Vasa advertised; although I must admit I never intentionally looked for this black beauty. They seem to be very unique birds and I appreciate the greater Vasa communities dedication to preserving this species!! I will look for the article on line. Thanks!Come visit me, Hazel & Jovial.

I am a Vasa Parrot. I was raised in captivity but originate solely on the Island of Madagascar. I am truly unique and different in many ways from other members of the Parrot Family. I AM NOT A FINCH - VASA PARROT was not an option on the species list.
