 I saw this bird at a horse traders house she had the bird in for 2 weeks and said he came from an abandoned mobile home shoved down a dark hallway with no perches because he was too loud for other owners, he was abused plucked and blind in one eye and lived like that for 2 yrs. I felt instant love for him.. he is home now and loves everyone he thinks my 8yr daughter hung the moon.. |

Hi! My name is Yogi Bear and I am an Umbrella too! I was also put in a dark room with my only toy being a phone book! I was fed ONLY beans and rice for many years. When my new daddy was visiting my old owners, he took me out of the cage and walked into the living room with me on his arm. My old owners were shocked, and screamed to be careful, that I would attack!! I snuggled into this strangers arms and my old owners asked if this new wonderful stranger wanted me! Well, they took me home, cage and all! (Minus the phonebook.) My feathers have grown back and I have been in my new home for a year now! I am so glad you were rescued too. I’m a ‘new fid on the block’ too! I can get what it’s like to have to try to break the ice, and start making new friends here on the BirdChannel. What a sad story! I'm so glad that you have a forever home now and a family that loves you. I can't figure out how people can be so cruel to us. All we want is love and attention. I have a friend on here that was abused to and he is blind in one eye to because they used to hit him hard. Maybe if you want you could stop by his page so you guys can talk about all the bad things and talk about all the good things you have now. His name is Cory and all you have to do to find him is go to the top of your page and hit the profile button and type in Cory where it says search name. He's a moluccan cockatoo. There is another bird with a bad past and his name is Braveheart. He had his toes burned off because he made to much noise. He's an african grey. Maybe you could stop by his page and read his prayer. It's a touching prayer. Humans can be so mean to us and it makes my mom so mad. She would love to see those people have the samethings done to them, what they did to those poor animals. Ok enough of this sad stuff. I am happy to meet you and I hope you like it here on the BC. We have alot of fun and there is alot of nice birdies on here. New Addition to our Family Please Read
Hey everyone at BC. We found another flock member. while helping a friend find the right saddle at a horse traders place I saw a Cockatoo hanging on the side of his cage and he was blind in one eye and plucked. The lady told us he had come from an abandoned mobile home and lived down the dark hallway because he was loud, he had no perches and was lucky to get clean water and fed. He could sense I was a bird lover and cried for me as I was leaving. Well, he lives with us now I gave her my eye teeth for him. He has perches and can eat his peanuts now without going to the floor of his cage to hold them. He loves baths and blow drying, cuddling and going outside to get sunshine, his feathers are growing back with his new diet and plenty of it. He will never have to want for anything again. He can step on arms with balance now and walk across the table with confidence to get hugs and kisses from everyone. We Love Odi Soo much... I still cry about it while looking into those sweet eyes as he hugs and looks up at us.Please vote for him he deserves it.Come visit me, TEN FOOT, Odi, Jock & Hannibal.
