Caymus here with a quick fly by today to see how you're doing. Haven't been on BC for a while so I'm missing out on what everybirdie is up to. How's your mom been feeling lately? And gosh, I hope the weather has been ok for you as well everyone is safe and sound. The mid-west has not been very lucky this Spring. I hope that doesn't mean we're going to get bad hurricanes down here. Just a few more short weeks and the season officially starts for us. Gotta make sure mom's got all our essential packed in our evacuation backpack....cookies, toys, treats, toys, food, toys...oh, and toys. hehehehe

Glad to hear your momma is doing better. Ours has her ups and downs. She had another knee surgery (#4) 2 months ago and she just went back to work this week. She is tired a lot but we love her anyway. We got to stay up late tonight but momma said we have to go to sleep soon so the Easter bunny can visit us. We got lots of yummy veggies tonight and Griffin got all dirty. He makes a mess when he eats. So, momma had to wash him and she didn't want him to go to bed all wet. We stayed up and watched Toy Story 3. Anyhow, I need to get settled in for the night. Chat with ya later.

Minnie!
Blanche here to give everybird a status update on the goings on in our flock since we’ve been off BC for a few weeks have lost touch with others along the way. All is great here and mom is giving the Cay-man and I lots of attention and play time as we get ready to host Easter Dinner with the flockily.
Spring is here and we’ve spent lots of time on the back patio watching mom and dad pull weeds and trim trees and make the yard look pretty and filled with flowers again. We occasionally get to go “outside the outside” in our travel carriers to explore the yard and spy on the neighbors. Last weekend mom took our cages to the front drive to spray off the layers of feather dust our Spring molt left behind. I got to stay in the cage while mom sprayed it down…and she finally found how I like to bathe. In the very fine “mist” setting the hose provides. I was very entertaining to the little boy next door and he thought it was funny when I laughed at his laugh, which made me laugh and then him laugh even more….
Then Sunday, mommy went to the bird expo with Mischa and Scrithes’ mom. I must say I’m a bit disappointed by the number of toys she brought back. Only two for each of us! But….I suppose a restocked cabinet of food is a good 2nd place. After all, mom says nobirdy eats with as much enthusiasm as I do! (Although I’m sure some of you out there could probably prove her wrong.)
And I’ve yet to show mom any signs of the Springtime Amazon attitude. She’s actually becoming a bit concerned. Then again, I’ve always been a little “different.” I think mom just sees me as well behaved because, compared to the lean-mean-green-machine, I’m an angel! Well I must be scottin’ along…Caymus has been slackin’ on his Friday Funnies and needs to use the ‘puter to write his column for tomorrow.

Thanks for all the votes and kind words for Willis on his being BOTD today. We know he would really appreciate all his buddies thinking about him. It was hard for momma today cause she misses him so much but she knows he isn't hurting anymore. He had a long and happy life with family and friends who loved him. Thanks for your visit and vote! Here's today's garden notes: Many perennials bloom for only a short time each summer, like peonies, forsythia, poppies, daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, and many others. There are some, however, that will provide longer term bloom times, like monarda (bee balm), achillea sp. (Yarrow), coreopsis, hollyhock mallow, many day lilies, especially the stella d'oro types, many sedum sp., phlox, aster, salvia, and some veronica. I know, many salvias are annual, but I included them here because the blue/purple ones reseed so readily they might as well be perennial. Also, make sure the veronica you plant isn't an invasive type, that will depend on where you live. Here's a hug and a vote for today. Vote Spirit Cloude 144812 BOTM in March
Chirp Chirp! ~ Hi there, my name is Spirit Cloude (144812), and I am a 5 year old (male) budgie from W. Gardiner Maine. I’m running for March BOTM in honor of my Uncle Maximillian, on page #9042, who tragically passed away last year (2010) on March 14th, at 18 years old. I miss him, and so I’ve decided to dedicate my run to him.

And now a little bit about myself … I am a crazy little blue & white budgie, that my Mama bought from Petco on June 26th, 2005. Mama wanted to give me a hatchdate, since for 5 years we’ve just said it was my “Gotcha Date” because we new that I was a year older by then. So, after about a week of thinking, we decided to have my hatchdate March 16th! My favorite singers are Taylor Swift and Hillary Duff, but my favorite song is “Kiss Me Thru The Phone”, by Soulja Boy Tell ‘em. I also like “Fearless” by Taylor Swift. When a song comes on that I really like, I start to dance and chirp. I’ll walk up and down my perch, rub my bill on it and chirp, chirp, chirp. One time, I learned a tune. It was on the Nintendo 64 and it was a Super Mario game! I learned the tune to one of the courses. Mama also taught me how to make kissie noises once. I couldn’t make them quite the way she can, but I did pretty well!

Caymus here!
So um…do by chance know how to get nacho cheese sauce out of feathers? On the top of your head? See um, mommy was eating um nachos last night, and um, she kinda sorta bit into a chip and I was kinda goofing off and um, the chip landed on my head, cheese side down. HEY, STOP THAT GIGGLING RIGHT NOW!
So yeah, mom tried to wipe the cheese off but ending up smearing it a little, and then I tried to shake it off, of which I succeeded in splashing some back in mom’s hair as payback! She tried to come after me with a wet towel but I was having none of that, no way, Jose! Well, problem is, it dried to my head feathers and now they’re all stiff and stuck together. Mom put me under the shower this morning and a bit more came out but well…I’m still a little cheesy. Daddy says I’m all ready for the Super Bowl because I’m a cheese head. Hehehehehe
Anywho, sorry Blanchie and I haven’t been on BC in a while. We missed you, though…most truly and dearly missed YOU! All is good here…just the usual business of flock life goin’ on. I'm so sorry I haven't messaged you in a while. Mom has been so busy and crazy lately that she forgot about BC! Hey Minnie! Yes, I totally agree--if birds were meant to be wet they'd have fins instead of wings. You poor thing, to have to get wet and then TOWELED? Can't imagine that you like that at all, I see a towel and I go into an 'attack' mode...heehee... Now, when my human is nasty and really drenches me, sometimes she'll use the blow-dryer for a minute or so just until I stop dripping. I don't mind that part too much.....Hope you enjoyed your day!
