 My beloved sun conure Sunshine, family companion for 10 years died. I only had my panama parrot Papa left, my companion for 30 years. I didn't want another sun, but had always wanted a blue-headed pionus, after learning about them from Birdtalk. One was on consignment at the local bird shop. His parents had gone to a nursing home and he needed a new home. He was very friendly and one of the pet shop people matched us up.. |

I’m a ‘new fid on the block’ too! I can get what it’s like to have to try to break the ice, and start making new friends here on the BirdChannel. I may live in the South, but I’m FROM the North, so I know ‘breaking ice!’ So I said to myself, I said “Self, wouldn’t it be easiest to start off talking to fids who are just as nervous as you are?
