Hi neighbor! My mom was looking through alot of pages last night after she put us to bed and found you. We live in Knoxville and we are new to BC. Wished we had knew about the site sooner it is so neat. I have a roommate thats a gray, her name is Sunshine, she doesnt like mom giving any of us to much attention. A few months ago Sunshine started picking at her feathers when she didnt get attention when she wanted it. It really upsets mom because she loves us all. Sunshine is fine as long as mom has her but as soon as she puts her down feathers start coming out. No medical problems found and mom has tried different things to get her to stop. Oh, anyway I,am glad to find someone who lives close by. We think you are very pretty, so we put in a vote for you. Stop by and see us when you get a chance. Tobey(chattering lory) Deno(red lory), Checo(caique) Sunshine(CAG), Cody(hauns macall), and the little keet gang. Oh and mom of course. We are all new to BC. See Ya!!!!Come visit me, Deno " I am a red lory", Tobey "I,am a chattering lory" & Checo & Cody.

Hi katy Mae MY you sure do have a wonderful Mom like I do , yes were are very lucky. My Mommy says that to me how lucky I am . My mom got me when I was one , all she knows is a woman had me before and did not want me anymore, shoe does not know more than that, but when she saw me when I was taking a liking to her, she said" You are coming home forever with me." I agree with all you said. Birds are unique and I do not even have a family member nor a friend I could entrust should anything happen to me. I am thinking soon to will him to a bird sanctuary shoudl anything happend to me, never know I do not want him in a bad home or people who shuffle him around. I LOVE my bird. He is my first parrot. Had him now going on 9 years.Come visit me, Angel Buzzsaw nickamed by mr.timRIP Mr.Tim & Asha) & Zazoo (RIP Mr.Tim & Asha ) :(.

I raised cockatiels years ago, getting started while working in a pet store near Chicago. I loved it. I met and was taught many things by Dr. Ted Lafaber during that time. He was a wonderful man and his love for the birds was something to see. Since we have started raising birds I have many friends that have decided that they would like to have a bird. I sell some to friends, I give some to friends and I say NO to some friends. Before ever letting a bird go to a new home I make sure the new owner knows what they are in for. I invite them over about 5pm when our pet birds are going through their daily screaming match, and before I have vacumed the food they have thrown from the cage, I ask them if they can live with this for the next 20 to 70 years, If they pass the test and say yes then I send them home to research and think for a week. I know this may be a bit extreme but we are in it for the love of the bird not to make money. Bird people at the very least give your new owneres a list of websites or books as well as a number where they can call you for assistance if needed. New bird owners. Don't ignore your bird if you decide you cant keep it contact the animal shelter and ask for a list of local bird clubs there are many that will take an unwanted bird off your hands. Birds are a life time committment. RESEARCE RESEARCH....EDUCATE EDUCATECome visit me, Shelby & Katy Mae.
