 Mr. Bird was a re-home I acquired while working for a veterinarian. I don't know anything about his home life, but when he did come to me the first two things he said were, "Shut up", and an expletive. Later he would say, "Shut up, dog!" in an irritated voice. Of course we all know that birds choose what they want to say, so I don't really know how his old home life was.
Anyway, I am the only person that he truly loves...he detests my husband, though in recent years he will let him pet his head.
I made the most of our 'honeymoon' period, working with him several times a day and letting him get used to his surroundings. Today, I can do anything with him, including clipping his nails and wings with very little struggle, holding him on his back and giving him 'hugs'.
I am very glad that Mr. Bird was sent to me...he makes us laugh everyday.. |

 She talks to me, brings me the goods, and now I get to stay outdoors year round and enjoy the sunshine. Mom knows to treat me as the intelligent bird that I am...not like a yucky human. Who would want to be one of those, anyway?
 He is always 'talking on the phone'. He 'answers' his 'phone' by saying, "Hello? Heeeey, what' goin' on?", and then proceeds to have a conversation with himself..

I’m a ‘new fid on the block’ too! I can get what it’s like to have to try to break the ice, and start making new friends here on the BirdChannel. I may live in the South, but I’m FROM the North, so I know ‘breaking ice!’ So I said to myself, I said “Self, wouldn’t it be easiest to start off talking to fids who are just as nervous as you are? Hey friends, A bath and a warm lamp sounds good to me..Bath day is tomorrow.. also gkids coming for the day..better get to bed early and get my beauty sleep.. not easy with the new chicks(2) cheeping in the neighbors nestbox.. hehe Glad they're not mine.. I have two fids in another cage here. They are Sunny (lutino) and Boomer (dark grey pied) Granny and Dad do not know their sex yet.. Welcome to BC
We are flying around to say hi to all of our friends on the BC and invite them to our pool party tommorrow! Mommy got us a new sprayer, some new pool toys, and some fresh fruits and veggies. She said we can invite all of our friends and have a really big pool party! Fuzzy was already playing in the new sprayer, he loves it. He was spreading his wings and flapping, singing, dancing.
