First of all, that is a great picture! I just love tiels. My birds are kept upstairs and we have dogs downstairs. My last tiel was okay with dogs until one tried to play with her. Since the lady I adopted her from had her wings clipped wwaaaaaayyyy to short, she could not fly at all. She got scared, fell to the ground, and the dog tried to play. For the record, she would not hurt since she never likes to kill a playmate, but the bird had a heart attack whenever she saw a dog from then on. All my other birds are fine with dogs. In my expirience tiels fly to the ground when scared, I do not know what yours do. I would suggest getting a dog that was not breed for any kind of hunting or chasing. And if they are inside, do not ever let them in where the birds are kept. You can let the birds around them else where, I just like to keep the cage area safe and happy. Hope this helps! They have their moments! From left to right they are Shimmer, Corky & Lavendar. Shimmer is a female, the other 2 are males. Birds are wonderful, aren't they? :) I love their personalities. Corky is so inquisitive and curious, he looks at things or us closely to see what we're doing; Shimmer loves to show off by spreading her wings or flapping them really fast while in the cage, and Lavendar likes to perch on my shoulder when I play piano.
Does anyone have birds and a dog and if so, how do they react to one another? My hubby & I are going to get a puppy sometime after we buy our house, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this.Come visit me, Corky, Lavendar & Shimmer.

your lucky all three get along . their great birds and smart. my bird (sam) is with me all the time when i'm home. he also loves one of two of my keets.never thought two different birds could get along so well. Come visit me, goldie &sam & sam.
