She was offered to a woman I know and she bought her and a baby Macaw at the same time. She could not stand the little quirks that Syd had while she was hand feeding her Macaw. She was going to take her back to this house that I had been in only once and it was HORRIBLE !!! Syd was in the basement of the house in a laundry room. She is not good being set in front of windows. I told her I would rob a bank before I would let her take her back to this house. I never had any intentions of owning a Cockatoo because of all their problems they are prone to have. Well it was the most rewarding thing I have done in my life. I have never regretted taking her. She was completely bald when I took her and now she has all her feathers and healthy. She still has her little quirks, that the woman who I got her from couldn't stand, but that is what makes her so special. I couldn't love anthing more. She has been the best thing I have have ever spent my money on, spent time with, and cared for in my life. If you ask my husband about the list of priorities in our house it goes Sydney, Me and then Him. Well he is right , but he loves her I think just as much as me. She diffently has him wrapped around her little toe..

We recently adopted a 30 year old Cockatoo. Who spent the last fifteen years locked in a cage with no toys, limited interaction. As a result he has been feather-picking, and screaming. Since he's been with us, there has been a decrease in the screaming. But we were wondering what did you do to stop the feather-picking.
Your Cockatoo looks great, she looks very healthy and happy.

Come visit me, Cash & Winston.

I am so glad for Syd that you gave her your home and your heart. I have a rescued U2 also, and it never fails to amaze me how my life has changed with her in my life. She has her quirks too, but she is just being a Too. And that comes with the territory. Fergie says welcome Syd.

Come visit me, Fergie, Max, Little Ham & Echo.

She's beautiful! I have a rescued 'too as well. It never ceases to amaze me that despite what they've been through, they're still so sweet, funny, happy, and forgiving.

Come visit me, Guthrie, Jude, Sage, Beedie & Ophelia.
