 Neighbor's lutinos had chicks. I asked for one. Mithril was the runt who wasn't expected to survive. First held her at 4 weeks. Help handfeed her from 4 weeks, took her home at 7 weeks after mother tried to kill her. Mithril turned out to be albino (at 4 weeks it was impossible to know that). Because we bonded so early, she's the sweetest, most bonded bird in 27 years of aviculture. Despite her plucking from sensitivities, she loves her husband (my other tiel, 1 year older than her) and loves me very much.. |

 mommy thinks I'm supposed to go to my cage sometimes so she can go work. When will she learn that she's my slave and never allowed to leave my sight?
 she gives me everything a cockatiel can want. Despite how expensive Brooklyn is, I have a large cockatoo cage as my home, a room of my own, lots of healthy food to eat, and even medieval parrot perches and toys--mommy understands my 13th century sensibilities so well! she knows that I think artificial and modern stuff is icky and only like the medieval stuff. She even takes me to medieval events where I get to see lots of people and help mommy teach people about parrots in the middle ages. So I get to help mommy spread the word about parrot conservation. I like feeling useful like that. Plus I get all the new toys mommy makes while we're out with the public! Oh...and I get to yell ALL I WANT when we're outside! HOORAY!!
 Pulling feathers out of back and under wings, steeling computer keys when mommy's not looking, chewing computer cables, screaming for mommy for hours after she leaves for work or SCA events..
 I like you!!!.

You're beautiful. My Mommy had 2 pure White Cockatiels in the past (Taylor and Sydney). I'm a 3-1/2 month old Male White Face Cockatiel named Apache. I whistle a few tunes including "We're Off To See The Wizard". Please fly by and come see me, my Brother, Parker and my 2 Sisters, Oz and Cheyenne. We love company. I'm gonna vote for you. My babies look nothing like me
Hello again. Since you know about birdie genetics maybe you can help us figure something out. I am white and I was with a cinammon tiel who passed away a few years ago. Our male babies (Peanut and another) turned out to be normal gray and our female babies (Big un, little bird, and madam coconut) are lutino pearl. Mommy can't figure out what mutations we might have that would lead to those colors in our babies. Normal gray should be dominant, but neither I nor the mommy bird were gray!
