so glad your moms first pt with the electricity went so well and even felt good to her. hope your mom continues to improve with each treatment. mom once had to have a nerve conduction test where they stick needles into you and shoot electricity into your body. mom thought she would go out of her mind it was so painful. mom said she was too sensitive to pain not numb from it. she had to taker a high dose of valium afterwards because the pain continued to intensify hours after the procedure was done. mom doesnt understand why they did the test. she is full of electricity to begin with. she is constantly being shocked all day long where ever she is. even putting the key in the car ignition shocks her. she once went to the dentist and when he gave her the novacaine injection a bolt of electricty shot into her jaw and she told the dentist she now knows what electro shock therapy must feel like. the dentist also got shocked from touching mom.

we just had a cloudburst of rain at our house that was unbeleivable. it lasted about 15 minutes and was about 3 inches worth of rain. mom had just gotten in the car and pulled onto the main highway and cars were floating. a mile down the road it was perfectly dry.

even with all the controversy surrounding genetically modified foods called GMOs macdonalds has now decided to use genetically modified potatoes for their frenchfries. they will be called macdonalds frankenfries. please say no to this by boycotting them.

That's great that your moms PT went well. Mom had those electrical currents treatments in PT a long time ago! They did help her!

The baseball season has been so exciting. It's kind of hard for us to make a lot of the games because that time of day mom is usually busy....but we do try to get to as many as we can!

I hope you are having a great day! I'm getting into trouble this morning but since I'm the zon, I feel that it is my duty to do so! If I hear mom say "no Sugar" then I want to do it all the more!
The typing is getting better but mom is still going slow. I really did want to help her but I get distracted by the keys and I have to stop to try to pull them off. I'm afraid my stomping on the keyboard leads to notes that no one but a bird can read! I'm really good at pushing the mouse around tho!
Glad to hear that mom's therapy went well. We hope it does the trick and that she can be pain-free!!

My mommy had therapy also with the electric thingys.She says they helped while she was there.She didn't pass the therapy.My mommys 46 years old and already has these problems.The doctor said it was the kind of work that she did.She has been a baker,cake decorator and a chef most of her life.It was too much repetion in her wrist moves that caused this.Now she dosent have a career job anymore.Its a good thing my daddy works!!!Hows the weather on your side of town???Its been hot here.Today we are expecting 90 degrees.When is the Milonga and the races?I cant wait!!!Stay cool and comfy buddy.

Sounds like mom is on the road to recovery, as long as she is protective of that shoulder for zumba, that is.
What a game yesterday, you're right. It has been an amazing season so far.
Last night mom had some friends over for pizza, wings, and salad. It was a good dinner, and we got some crusts. No bones for us, though, because mom is always afraid we'd toss them to the dogs. Today is following what seems to be the trend this summer: one gorgeous day followed by rain. Yesterday it was beautiful out, but today it's very grey. Maybe mom will stay home and do laundry, after she goes out to buy wild bird food. It seems those wild birds are eating us out of house and home this year. I hope you are having a good day. Glad to hear that your mom's PT went so well. Hopefully it'll do the trick and help that shoulder heal properly and without any further injury or pain. Must be kinda strange to do the zumba without that right arm, but guess a lot of it is in the legs.

Seems like all the bazebol games have been quite the clawbiters. Just shows how well all the teams are playing and everybirdie can be proud of that.

Still 70s temps for us. Been quite windy today so that means there is no bad air, whew!

I'm glad mom is taking it easy and that her shoulder seems to be feeling a little better !

Well, good news is it looks like g'pa will be home tomorrow ! The surgeon was really happy with his progress - of course that means today after dropping g'ma off at the hospital today, dad will have to get thier lawn mowed ! It looks like a jungle after all the rain ! Yesterday's was a short quick downpour, right as mom was leaving school and heading to her car ! ha ha ha

Now I must go have a healthy breakfast and have a good nap - game day !

So happy that all went well for your mom. I can't believe that she went to Zumba. My mom is dropping out until July. We aren't home on Z days. Tell mom to take it easy ..ok?
You are lucky. We get t-storms anytime in spring and summer. We have even had them in fall and winter. The winter ones are very strange.
Today we had a little sun in between the rain. It was 68 degrees. Tuesday will be sun and 70 degrees. But, it doesn’t reach the high temp until afternoon! That’s Not fair!
After mom straighten out my condo today, I tossed everything as far as possible. My ball went down the hallway pretty far. Even mom was amazed. I guess it’s from all that baseball practicing! We tried our best today but got beat!

SO YOU TOSS STRAWBERRIES TOO? MAYBE I WILL HAVE MOM CUT UP VERY SMALL PIECES OF BANANNA AND SEE IF I WILL LIKE IT THEN. THE SLICES IN MOM'S CEREAL I TOSS OUT THEN MOM GETS UPSET. SHE SAYS SHE WANTS TO EAT THE SLICES WITH HER CEREAL.

I SURE HOPE THAT THE ABLATION THERAPY APPROVAL COMES THRU QUICKLY. MOM JUST WISHES THAT THAT FIRST DR HAD DONE THAT WITH G-PA AND THEN HE WOULD NOT BE IN THIS MESS. G-PA CHOKED ON A PIECE OF CHICKEN THIS AFTERNOON. MOM HEARD HIM AND RAN INTO THE LIVING ROOM TO SEE IF HE NEEDED HELP. HE WAS ABLE TO COUGH IT UP. MOM TOLD HIM THAT SHE WOULD MAKE HIM MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY FOR DINNER. HE IS DOWN TO 140 POUNDS NOW. THIS WAS ALSO THE SECOND NIGHT G-PA HAD DIARRHEA, IT LASTED ABOUT 2 HOURS. SOMTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO HELP G-PA GET FOOD INTO HIM AND KEEP IT THERE.

SO GLAD THAT YOUR MOM DID WELL ON HER FIRST PT. MOM LOVED THE ULTRASOUND TREATMENT, SHE COULD GO THRU THAT ALL DAY. I HOPE THAT IT WORKS SO YOUR MOM DOES NOT HAVE TO GO THRU SURGERY.

I LOVE PASTA, MOM AND I ATE THE LAST OF THE PASTA SALAD SHE HAD MADE. I HOPE SHE MAKES MORE. TOMORROW IS SPAGHETTI

They did nothing special today, just some bowling and beach time. Mom sucked at bowling, but she did have lots of fun! Mom can't wait to show you the feather painting she's working on, but you have to wait until it's done. It's a blue and gold macaw painted across a bunch of b&g feathers. It looks great so far. (:

You spend your last $5 on stuff for birdie bread even though payday is still four days away and the only thing left in the cabinet for you to eat is noodles and pop tarts.

GOLFING PARROT

A golfer took a vacation in Florida. He was a big bettor and always had at least $500 riding on each round. He asked at the pro shop if there was anyone around who liked a little competition, and the pro introduced him to a man named Joe.

"Is Joe a good golfer?" the man asked when Joe left to get his clubs.

"He doesn’t look that good but he always seems to win his matches," the pro replied.

The man met Joe on the first tee, and they agreed to play for $500. On the first tee, Joe hooked his drive into the water, and the vacationer won the hole. On the next hole, Joe topped his drive and then shanked his second shot into the trees. The man won that hole, too. On the next tee Joe took off his hat and scratched his head. When he did that, a big parrot flew up and lighted in a nearby tree. "Want to double the bet?" Joe asked.

"Sure," the vacationer said, already counting his winnings as he stepped up to the tee. On the top of his back swing, the parrot made a noise like a train whistle, and the vacationer wiffed the ball and lost the hole. On the next hole, which required a second shot over a pond, the vacationer selected his iron when the parrot said, "Five iron’s too much." The player changed to a six and hit it into the water. While the man was putting on one hole, the parrot said, "It breaks to the left," but the putt broke right. The man missed it to go three down. By the 18th hole, the vacationer was ten down to Joe and glaring at the bird.

"What do I need to do to get rid of that lousy parrot?" he said to nobody in particular.

"Just pay me $100 more than Joe does," the bird said.

Yeah, I saw the score for the game today, and I can't remember when we have had so many close games, can you? Wow! Da Pois play tomorrow and I sure hope that we are gonna win this one. But those Little Dragons...well, they are pretty tough.

Glad your Mom's therapy went well, and she did good in Zumba at not messing up her shoulder. And you know, I love it when she comes home and spends extra time with you! Mom was here with me today, and I sure did enjoy that a lot. She gave me so many head scritches today! She was in this meeting today where she had to stay on the screen that the meeting was on. So she did. And gosh, I got the head scritches, and beak rubs, and lots of kisses. I loved every second of it.

Gotta head off to perch for the night...know you and SP will be with Lizzie in the stands tomorrow. Bring an appetite--Lizzie is making some of those wonderful ribs with some really spicy sauce.
I have no idea what else she is putting in that basket, but I can guarantee it is good.

Oh, ya, dried blueberries are really good. Though I have to share them with Mom. Yummy stuff! I sure hope you like them, cuz Mom says that they are good for you.

Mom really misses NPR and will have to see what she can do about improving the recpetion here up in the mountains. Sorry your mom is still having the achy braky problems. Mom blames it all on the weather. She did something to her back today and is not happy. She made dad go for a walk after dinner anyway. A big tree fell down this morning (thank God not on any wires or our home) and took out 6 additional trees! the ground is so wet from all the rain the trees are just falling down. Blueberries--good ammo for the walls. Mom doesn't like that large blueberry, the 'blueberry of commerce' which was developed here in Whitesbog, NJ. She likes the small wild ones. That is such good news to hear that your sweet Mom made it through her first session of PT! And she didn't get hurt made it even better to look at! That electrical current treatment really sounds scary! As long as it was helping your Mom feel better that's all that matters! Not bad that you got to share lunch with your sweet Mom too! I just love that pasta stuff I could eat it all the time! But I do love chicken also! I nearly love to eat anything mostly!My Mom loves the chilli seasonings also! Gotta get some flavor going in those cardboard lunches!LOL!
That bazebol game sure was a talon biter! We are having such a great season already! Mom is hoping to take me there tomorrow,skin bro is supposed to be coming over with his trailer and truck to help Mom get rid of all the stuff in the sun room so she can start to use it again,instead of having it be a junk shop for everyones stuff they insisted on storing in there!It was so warm out today that Mom took us all out for a sunbath and a shower and was it really good to be outside again yelling at the wild birds,squirrels and chipmunks!LOL!

Hi Kiddo, my friend,
mom got us a carrier from Dr. Foster & Smith and it is 12.5" L x 20" W x 15.5" H with 3/4" bar spacing. Maybe that might work for you, it is larger and open. Just a thought.

Dad went for a ride on his street bike, the bike that is broken is his drag bike and that is still being worked on. It is going to be very expensive to fix. Not what the parronts wanted to hear but it has to be done. The engine builder is gathering info on what parts he will need and what they cost so that he can give us an estimate.

Is that endoscopic procedure where they scrape the esophagus to remove the bad tissue? I think your plan of extra beaky kisses is a great one and should make your mom feel lots better.

That is weird cause I am the opposite...don't like my blueberries cooked in a pie, they are much better raw or like you said in oatmeal.

That was wise of your mom not to do to much Zumba cause there is a lot of moving going on and with a bad wing...not so good besides it seems logical to me that it would be much better to stay home with you. No contest in MHO. lol

I saw you at the game today rooting for the macaws just cause they were behind. lol
It was a great game especially since we won...the macaws played a fantastic game and it was a tough win for us.

Mom took dad out for dinner yesterday for Father's day to a favorite Chinese restaurant. That's where dad wanted to go, it was good. Dad just relaxed all day and watched the US Open golf tournament.

The gardeners were here today and now we are so used to them we don't even bother with them anymore. Mom is happy about that.

We're here really late today and mom might not even finish our blogs. We all hope she does, of course. This morning it was birds, birds, birds at the center, followed by the recovery room, with turtles, pigeons, mallards, and a red tailed hawk. After the center, mom went to the pool where she met her friend from Munich. They ended up staying there later than mom usually does, planning pizza and wings for tonight. So, she came home, showered quickly, and went to buy stuff for salad and some dessert. Now it's our turn to blog, and hopefully we'll get some time tonight with company. Good Morning Kiddo!
Hello! What a racket this morning! Mom's mate was up before the dawn revving up that noise maker he calls a motorcycle! Had the whole household up! Well, that's only Mom, me, & the three cats, BUT STILL!! Birds get up early as it is! This was a terrible time for anything alive to be awake!

Yesterday when Mom & her mate went out for breakfast, they went through the nearby town of Waxhaw. There are great big electric signs up saying that filming would be taking place in Waxhaw today & tomorrow!! "Expect Delays". It seems they are filming a movie!!! It wouldn't be the first time the little town of Waxhaw would be in films! I hope Hollywood doesn't discover how greyt it is here or the population will explode more than it already has! Ehh….it's hard to keep a good thing quiet for very long.

V4U today. I hope that your mom is feeling better, and that she will heal quickly. No, still no lilacs. Well, we planted the sunflower seeds about 2 weeks ago, and so far we don't see any sprouts whatsoever. What we did see were some holes dug around where they were planted. Hopefully the chipmunks didn't think we planted a sunflower snack just for them? If they don't come up it's pretty easy to guess what happened. LOL :) Our cherry tomatoes are growing nicely, still no tomatoes on them yet. Have a good day. From, Mayo

Sounds like your mom just needs to see what the PT people are gonna have her do for exercises to help her heal properly. Lots of tennis balls around here, guess most of us with furball's around have some.

We shall have our wings crossed for your mom's tests to all go smoothly and not yield any bad surprises.

Happy Monday Kiddo !
Only 4 more days of school for mom - hooray - and if healing continues the way it's been going, g'pa will be home on Wednesday ! Lots of tubes and wires were unhooked yesterday and his appetite is coming back . . . dad will probably stay at his parents' house the first few nights incase his mom needs help - so there'll still be a bit of "neglected Cookie bird" syndrome :(

We were supposed to have rain last night, but it never came . . . I hope it doesn't come while I'm home alone !

Gosh our parronts seem to be falling apart huh?

We gotta show um how to do the "Birdie" thing huh? :)

Mom says she feels better now that she got some grease in her arm joint, painful but worth it so far. :)

She goes back to the torcher therapy then to the bird therapy. I'm not happy about her being around others birds but she says it helps and she got some battle scars from it too.

Oh well what's a bird to do?

I hope that all Dad’s had a wonderful day today.
In the middle of my sleepy time last night, there was the loudest BOOM! Then the hard rain came. I was so scared! It woke the whole family. Mom called out my name and I gave her a weak whine. She opened my condo door and I grabbed her finger with my beak and one foot and held on for dear life. She stayed with me until the bad storm went away. Today we had a t-storm, sun, rain and 73 degrees. Now, the t-storms are coming back tonight and tomorrow … hope they aren’t real loud! Have a g’nite.

mom never thought about cookie our blueberries first. they are very expensive and usually we ignore them or throw on the floor. when ever blueberries go on sale mom buys them and then freezes them and just takes a few out at a time. mom says its a shame because blueberries are so full of vitamins and health benefits.

my dad hates cucumbers and he wont even eat a salad that cucumbers have been in even after they are removed. mom loves cucumbers and eats them a lot.

Ahhh....That's OK Mr. Kiddo, I Will Bow Out Of The
....couples dance. Mom was ready & willing to write up a routine for me & Miranda but she isn't so savvy on the computer art. Thank you just the same. No, I won't need to prove my speed to anybirdy. I would like to be known for my smarts instead of speed. I will be quite enthusiastic to cheer for those who are competing. Being out of breath then singing, well, I'm not THAT good!

Hope you got some outside time today. I was about to but by the time Mom & her mate made it home from breakfast out, the sun was already beating down on the deck. I did get some yesterday, though! I was out early for about an hour but soon started panting when the sun was about 11:00am. I was in the shade most of that time but because I had to be. Still had a blast!

THATS GOOD THAT YOU GAVE YOUR DAD THE GIFT OF NO BITING. I THINK IT WAS PERFECT GIFT. I SAT ON G-PA'S SHOULDER TO KEEP HIM COMPANY.

G-MA WANTED KFC FOR DINNER BUT ALL G-PA COULD EAT WAS MASHED POTATOS AND GRAVY. HE WAS DOING FINE ALL DAY TILL AFTER DINNER, THE FOOD WENT RIGHT THRU HIS SYSTEM. HE HAD DIARRHEA ABOUT 8 TIMES FROM 8PM TILL 11PM. HOPEFULLY HE CAN SLEEP THE REST OF THE NIGHT.

I AM A FUSSY EATER ALSO. I LIKE BANANNA FLAVOR BUT NOT THE REAL BANANNAS. I LIKE BLUBERRY MUFFINS AND EGGO WAFFLES BUT NOT REAL BLUE BERRIES. MOM HAS TRIED TO GET ME TO EAT STRAWBERRIES BUT I REFUSE.

IT WAS A VERY WARM SUNNY DAY TODAY. THE BAD THING WAS NO BREEZE AND THE HUMIDITY WAS BAD. IT RAINED HARD AND FAST LAST NIGHT AND ONLY LASTED AND HOUR. HOPING TOMORROW IS A NICE DAY.

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads!

Today's activity was kayaking. Mom enjoyed it for about ten minutes, until grandma made her help paddle. Then she totally hated it. She said she felt like her arms were going to fall off. :P They were supposed to see a bunch of dolphins, but they only saw two and they were far away. Mom did take some pretty pictures for you guys to see! They are in my gallery.

"Well, this is a highly trained parrot. If you pull the red string he speaks French; if you pull the green string he speaks German," replies the shop keeper.

"And what happens if I pull both the strings?" our curious shopper inquires.

"I fall off my perch you fool!!" screeches the parrot.

You know, I don't like blueberries. Mom tried to get me to eat some, too, and I am not much into them. Neither is Mom, except if they are dried. Those are awesome. I like them too. My latest is dates. I really like those a lot. I am not sure if I have had cooked blueberries...now if it is cranberries, I will eat them raw or cooked. I love my cranberries. Oh, ya, dried too. Good stuff!

Today when Mom and I were looking outside, first thing in the morning, I saw something and stretched my neck so far out that Mom was "Whatcha looking at?!" Well, I kept staring--and guess what it was? A deer! It was out in the back area, which is open cuz we have the big electric power lines going along the by-pass expressway. It must have gotten separated from it's group, and it was running along and would stop, look at the expressway, and then run some more. Mom says she has not seen a deer here before, though we have them. She hopes it did not get hurt and was able to get wherever it was going. We have seen coyote, and red foxes. But never any deer. Not here anyway. We have a lot of parks and open areas, and we have deer population all over the place. But first time seeing one in our back yard!

Mom went over by Grandpa's and brought dinner (Boston Market, yum!) and a small cherry pie she got at the farmer's market yesterday. That cherry pie is Grandpa's favorite, and it is small, so he doesn't have a bunch left over. And she brought me some chicken breast and potatoes and cornbread home. That was really, really, good!

Glad that things are going to be taken care of, and since that one place is the only place around to do the ablation, the insurance should cover it as in network, and that is what we are hoping for. And if they balk at it, fight it. Seriously--doing the treatment now really lessens any chance of things turning out badly--which will cost them more money. And hoping that the medications can be decreased, too. Win-win all around! And I sure do love the plan you have for taking care of your Mom. Best remedy in the world!

Happy Father's day to your Daddio!!My dad worked today till 4:30...I hope your moms shoulder is feeling better!!! Its soooooo hot today!! Gramps was here for lunch! Mom made Tuna salad, egg salad and potato salad for grandpa. It was a nice afternoon. Wanna here sumpin funny? Green always sits on the top of his cage so Mom always knows where he is. Today while Grandpa was here Mom turned her back for a few minutes still in the same room and Green was gone!! Mom searched everywhere for him and found him in the back room on top of the bed!! He has never did that before! lol Mom was just relieved to find the lil bugger!!! lol That's about all the news for today!

Our prayers are with your sweet Mom that she gets through this procedure without too much eggcrusiating pain! And those insurance companies sure know how to wipe a persons wallet out in a heartbeat!
Oh,I just love blueberries raw and otherwise! My Mom spent the day doing laundry,hanging it out on the line,and peeling 20 apples and pitting a whole bag of cherries,cleaning two boxes of blueberries and then she made apple,blueberry cherry crisp! Was it ever soooo good! We got to have some while it was a little warm! Then Mom made a chicken calzone and by the time she cleaned up it was late but we got to go outside and get some sun what little of it that there was by then! It started to get dark,like it was going to rain so she rushed and pulled the laundry in,got it all folded and put away,and cleaned our cages for the late afternoon! Dad had to work at the Fathers Day Car Show today so he didn't get to come home til after 4:30!
I'm glad your sweet Mom is giving her shoulder another day's rest and a chance to recover a little before she does her T-rex zumba! You just gotta enjoy all the time you can get with her when you can get her to stay home like I have to do with my Mom!LOL!
