Kiddo flew into Dad's warehouse, but the owner of the company said he had to go OR ELSE! Finally after a week they managed to lure Kiddo down using a baloney sandwich as bait. After trying unsuccessfully to find his owners, he tried living for a few weeks with Dad's co-worker and her African Grey. That didn't work out (the grey was jealous and so was Kiddo), so he came to live with us. He was supposed to be Dad's bird, but he bonded with Mom from day one, and now we are best friends. I love him dearly. Although I had never thought of having a bird as a companion, now I can't imagine life without him. The first thing I do each day is join him for breakfast and beaky kisses. We share our lives and love. What joy he has brought to my life.

Raw cashews and almonds. Sweet potatoes, grapes and bananas. Dried papayas are definitely parrot candy.

The heating grate over the door (when the heater isn't on). My playstands. Mom's kneecap and shoulder.

Dad: I am very jealous of the time Mom spends with him. She should be with me 24 hours a day.

Mom loves to cuddle me when it is time to go to sleep at night. I love to snuggle up under her chin and coo at her. We have a great time together.

Doing the "Godzilla stomp" when Dad sticks his head in to say hello. I am a very tough hombre. I know I could take him out any time I want. I am just biding my time.....Of course, I do dance with him, too. I am the best dancer in the house!.

  Hi, Kiddo
So glad the heatwave is over. Those temps really need to wait until summer to return again, though would be nice to have a mild summer, heehee. We'll be happy if it is never humid. More of our friends are reporting that temps are forecast to be going up so hopefully more will be warm now that it is middle of spring.

Mom got the new pic of the grand downloaded and slightly edited. Turned out pretty good.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

I didn't get out again - even though it was a gorgeous day here ! Landon came over after mom and dad got home from grocery shopping - HE got to help mom with laundry and then they off and went to the park ! Without me ! Now it's back to school for mom :( And tomorrow - well, I'm not even going to think about that ! That's the Philadelphia trip . . .

Instead, I'll head over to prep for the pie shoppe this morning and then go work with Goldencents for the afternoon - or visa versa - I picked up some pointers watching the KD last night !

Have a great day buddy ! love Cookie

OH my! I hope your mom's lips are ok by now! Mom's says that both Bailey & I don't like toothbrushes ... I did hold one for a pic one time ... but don't like mom's.
Sounds like you have a new good groomer. That's a good thing.
I'm back! It was a busy and fun weekend. Our Oaks horse, Lovely Maria won and our Derby horse, Dortmund took 3rd in the Derby. I was able to be in the middle of everything and got a lot of attention!
We had good weather too. Friday was nice and Saturday was 73. Today we had 78! Now I have to get ready for the Milonga Derby on May 9th.

  Hi Kiddo
the mom did come back for her fawns. its a good thing because all our mom could do was stand there watching them all day and evening. then she put the spotlights on from the house so she would see the mom come. then she didn't see the mom so she went outside to check on the fawns and there was the mom standing there so mom went back in the house and turned off the spotlights so the would have privacy in the dark. mom now feels very sad that they are gone. today she checked everywhere to see if they are still around but they aren't or if they are they are hiding in a good spot which is just as well because if mom found them she would be outside watching them all day again. mom will try and load the pictures. she is having trouble with the computer. the fawns were the size of cocker spaniels so they must not have been very old.

tonight mom went out again to see if the babies were around and the yard was full of bunnies hoping in every direction.

  Heya, Kiddo!
Yeah, Mom is not excited about any traveling to Green Bay. She hated to do that at her other job, and it makes for a very very long day. And that per diem is not a whole lot of money when you consider taxes have to be taken out of it. That barely covers gas, and not the wear and tear on the car. Mom hopes they want something that she can't do, as then she knows that she would not be in the running for the job. Mom has to go to a re-employment thing this week in order to keep getting her unemployment. She is still thinking heavily of retiring. She feels like they make it so hard to get unemployment--Mom is trying to find a job. But she wonders if it is even worth it. She just thinks she should retire and be there for Grandpa. She is simply sick of feeling like she is trying to cheat the system. She sure is NOT.

Nice day though it did not feel like 72. Maybe it was the lake effect wind blowing--not hard but it was not hot. Then it got grey and cloudy.

Had a nice day with Mom. We played catch this morning when I got up--I threw her the bouncy balls. She fetched them. That was so cool. I really did not want her to go anyplace, but she went by Grandpa and came home with a delicious baked potato for me. And coleslaw. Love that stuff!! Had my popcorn, and am ready to perch for the night.

Sending wing hugs your way!

  Hi Kiddo
Mom went shopping for the boric acid today and was told that she would have to special order it.She looked in WalMart, and Stop&Shop(grocery store)and couldn't find it there looking in both the health and medicine aisles and the cleaning aisles and when skin bro asked an employee where we could find it she asked the pharmacist and he told us it would have to be special ordered so Mom will go to Walmart in Falmouth,(they were over the Bridge)and she will try and order it there after she takes Nana to the surgeons visit on Wednesday.Mom thought that she could just get it off the shelves.
If Mom can find that article on onions and parrots she'll send it to your awesome Momma.
This morning was a bright sunny morning with the highs for the day were 58 the lows will be 47,right now its 52 and still sunny at 6:00pm.Mom got us all up this morning and fed us our warm bean mix, cleaned our cages and room, made dad his fresh PB&J sandwiches for the week and then she went to print out a coupon for LongHorn Restaurant that skin bro wanted her to get off his email and when she went to go to his email it wouldn't let her on as she didn't know the password. So she went to go back to her own email and it threw her off also as it said her password was wrong so for over an hour dad was trying to get everything back,he finally had to call Comcast and get Mom a new password.Mom finally got the coupon and they left here around 11:45 to go to Nana's and meet Nana and skin bro there.Mom wasn't sure that Nana would be able to get into dad's car as it was taller as Mom has a hard time in it also he(Dad) had to put a shoe box down so her feet could touch the ground and not dangle. He's looking to find a stool for her but can't find a little step stool so far.Nana did get to get in his car and they took off for the restaurant and they ordered renegade steaks with sweet potato baked in butter and cinnamon and sugar and Mom and Nana had a tossed salad to go with it,skin bro had a salad and garlic fries my dad had a burger with shaved steak on top, lettuce tomato and sautéed onions on a huge roll,it was so big he couldn't get his mouth on it he also had plain fries to go with it,plus they serve everything with the honey wheat bread before you get the meal. Then skin bro ordered the Chocolate Stampede Cake for dessert and oh was that so sinful! That is the most wonderful dessert ever and it comes with chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse, whipped cream, two big balls of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. The four of them shared it and were they so full and in need of a wheel barrow to get them out to the car after that.Skin bro paid for the whole meal for all of them. They went to Stop&Shop after that and Nana got some oranges and bottled water and banana's for our cousins and then they went to Walmart as Mom was looking for a specific item that they didn't have.Skin bro and Mom went to Walmart and Nana and my dad waited in the car for them. Both came out empty handed and

The sugar snap peas are very good at the fruit stand that mom goes to and she gets them every week for me too. They are very tasty and tender too right now.
It sure was a pretty day here today. Yesterday was nice but thinking today was even better if that was at all possible. When mom got some things done here in the morning I got to go outside and got a sun bath. Boy did that feel good on the feathers. The one skin brother came to visit a bit and I got a tad loud and kept saying by by. I thought he would leave but guess he didn’t understand what I was trying to tell him but know mom did cause I often do that when I want someone to leave LOL “Don’t cry because its over, smile because it happened.” Left a vote for you ~~Your forever friend, Gus (RIP Chi chi)

Ha ha!! You got tricked! That's too funny. The reason I laugh is 'cause it's good t'know that other parrots in this group get tricked. It happens here quite often, sometimes even t'me. Most of the trickery goes on about the time toenails need t'be trimmed. Some poor sap thinks he's bein' trucked out to the kitchen t'hang with the parronts while they eat a meal when all the further they're goin' is the corner where they're set on the floor and the trim towel's dropped over their head. Makes me laugh every time I see it happen! Har har har. It don't happen t'me because I like towels and get excited when it's finally my turn to be burritoed for a pedicure. I know, I'm weird.

I don't get t'eat onions either. Something about them not bein' very digestible for parrots. There's actually an article right here on the BC that's pretty informative about parrots and onions. http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-diet-and-health/bi- rd-nutrition/birds-onions-and-garlic.aspx I'm thinkin' that even if there were okay for us t'eat I wouldn't want to in case they gave me onion breath and mom wouldn't want to kiss me anymore.

  Hi Kiddo
Hello everybirdie, Sweetie here on this warm, bright Sunday. I want to begin by thanking you all for sharing your past histories, in your birdographies you tell the sad and happy events that have led you to be where you at this moment in time. I ask that every parront take the time to really read each one, for within each is a wealth of information and hope for someone else who may be facing or in the future may face a similar obstacle to Companion Parrot ownership. I hate that term ownership; signifying possession because no one truly "owns' a Parrot. We are not domesticated like a companion cat or dog. It is for these reasons that so many of us end for unwanted, neglected, abused or worse. We hatch from eggs will all the instincts of our wild cousins, except the ability to be free to exercise them.
As Falco's Mom and others noted dealing with hormones has been the most difficult challenge. That factor alone shows that we differ from all other commonly kept "pets". Where dogs or cats can be sterilized thereby removing that obstacle, Parrots, except under very unique circumstances are not. That fluffy bundle of down will one day be a fully mature, hormonal-driven adult with one desire; to reproduce their kind. Frustrated Parrots can become extremely aggressive, biting and lunging at those they once adored. The need to chew can wreck havoc on furniture, wood work and other humanly valued objects.
It is a tragic fact that over 70 % of baby Parrots will live in no less then two homes. Many will live in ten or more and some will be forever bounced from place to place. Many of the largest Parrot rescues in the USA have very large populations of Macaws and larger species Cockatoos. The Iowa Parrot Rescue has no less then 60 % population of these two species. Of these most are adult males five or older. After countless conversations with different rescue owners ( all USA/Canada based and with larger rescue populations) most of these 60% are surrendered due to aggression, screaming or other hormonal behaviors.
After reading every one of your comments, it is clear that many of us on BC have had previous homes. We were either rescues or re-homes due to necessity. Sadly some, Like Sam I Am suffered the most common Parrot/Owner scenario. A once adored baby becomes a problem to be dealt with. Stuck in solitary confinement due to our own natural behaviors we develop unwanted behaviors that cause us to be "given-up."
NOW TODAY'S QUESTION--who do YOU feel is to BLAME for this problem of Parrots being rehomed so often? IS it the breeder? Where do the stores fit into this? Are they responsible for finding suitable homes? Are sellers of babies failing to educate the potential buyer thereby setting up a high potential for failure of new owners keeping their Parrot for it's lifetime? What ideas do you think might help stop this sad situation of buyers of babies giving them up? How can we start to help end this problem?

  Hello Kiddo~
I hope you are having a great day! It's another pretty on up here!
Yesterday was such a crazy day! Dad had to go back on the road and getting him ready and out he door is a nightmare! He really should pack up the night before! They were out the driveway and half way down the street when dad told mom he forgot his phone. Mom drove back and dad rushed upstairs, only he couldn't find it! It was packed in his bag!hahahahahaha
Dad is on his way to Utah but only made it as far as Idaho! There is a sensor in the truck that says the truck is out of coolant. This shuts the truck off and dad can't restart it! He checked the coolant and it is fine! They can't get a repair truck out there until tomorrow so dad is spending the day in Idaho! Luckily he is at a truck stop with food and it's not hot there. He can't run the A/C when the truck won't start! Who knew there were so many gadgets on trucks these days? Just more stuff to breakdown!
The onion thing was an article on BC. Something about sulfur in them. You aren't suppose to give them to dogs either! Guess we will just have to wonder about how they taste~~sort of like chocolate!
Enjoy the day!

  Hi Kiddo
Glad mom's lips are healing so nicely. She is right, no onions or garlic for us birds! Tempting as it might be, don't bite into that onion.
We all got out yesterday, everyone except me. I was being a brat and was not willing to get into my travel cage, so mom just put me back in my indoor cage and took Maxine, Willie, and Peppino outside for a while.
She went to dinner and the opera with Jessica, and enjoyed both. Dinner was at the Renaissance Hotel, which has a wonderful restaurant, and the opera, Daughter of the Regiment, was really funny and the singers were perfect! Great voices, good costumes, and funny dialogue, what could be better entertainment?
Today mom had to turn around 3 times to get to the museum for her tour. It's marathon Sunday and all the roads she usually takes were blocked off. She did make it on time, after driving all over Carnegie Mellon's campus. The kids on the tour were curious cub scouts, and mom went a little overtime with them, but they were fun.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood today, sunny and high 70s. Mom is hoping to finish our blogs without too much trouble, so we can go outside for a little today too. Hope your day is filled with springtime, cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Falco

It's Popeye.
Well, yesterday mom and dad never made it down to the beach. Instead they worked around the house and watched Izzy. In the afternoon their friend Bob called to say HI. He still has his cold but it's not stopping him. He's going fly fishing. Now I ask you, don't we have enough flies around that we would need to go fishing for them? All he has to do is just leave his back door open.
Today will be partly cloudy, with a high of 78 and a low of 55.
Hope your day was fun.
Hugs,
Popeye

  Hi, Kiddo
That is good the accidentially injured lips are healing so quickly. Keeping 'em moist probably did the trick.

Glad you got the sunbath before it got too warm. Temps here were barely 80 yesterday and today should be back to the 70s. So much nicer than having summer heat in spring.

Hmmmm, can't remember about onions and fids. Think they are also a no-no for furballs and always best to err on the side of caution.

We were one of the first to Sweetie's page yesterday so went back to see if others shared their stories. Ours is rather boring in comparison to what many of our friends had gone thru eggspecially the rescued ones. The important part is that parronts never gave up and we all have wonderful homes.

  Flitzer Biography
Happy Sunday, BC Friends.
Since Dad lives in an apartment, he was looking for a "relatively quiet" bird.
Previously he had only cared for a parakeet -who was handicapped.
--
Dad considered a clutch of 4 birds at the local bird store, which is about 45 min away from home.

The first time Dad tried to hold me I bit bit bit, to show him who was boss, but later visits I was calm and kind and loving.

I was the eldest and decided I wanted him. I waited patiently as Dad was attracted to the others, but he was Mine and I let him know that I was "The Bird".
--
I was hatched in August and was supposed to go to Dad's home in November, but Dad had a bad fall when he moved Oct 31st, and that was delayed until mid-December.
Dad had my name chosen early on. Flitzer is German meaning "To Streak or Move Very Fast".
He named me after a Roller Coaster called "The Flitzer", a favorite in his childhood.

  Heya, Kiddo!
Well, yeah, Green Bay is about 2 hours away. Mom figures she will have to see what the interview is like, and find out more about how often she would have to go up there. She will see what happens. She has no idea what the job is like, and would much rather not drive up there at all.

We had a lovely day here--got into the low 70's, and Mom opened up the patio doors in the living room and bedroom. We can hear the sounds of kids playing outside--it is dark but guess the good weather is just too nice to stay indoors. We have lights around the apt, so that makes it okay for them to be out.

Mom went shopping for groceries today and brought me back some sugar snap peas and matoes and some yummy carrots. And some sweet corn. And she bough some ham from the deli that was on sale. Oh, yummy! She never buys that stuff, but she was looking for something different to eat, and she said it looked so good...and it sure is. She only got a half a pound. Then we watched the Derby--I watched the Derby as she dozed off and had to see the rerun of the race! Spent a lot of time trying to feed her fingers and she tried to give me head scritches instead. Hehe. I did let her do that--I am not dumb! And now it is cuddle time on her shoulder.

Wing hugs to ya!

Kaji

KIDDO, THE PIE SHOP SMELLED WONDERFUL. YOU DID A GREAT JOB IN ALL THE LIFTING AND MOVING. KACEY AND MIKEY ARE VERY APPRECIATIVE OF ALL YOUR HELP. THE GRAND RE-OPENING WENT VERY WELL TODAY. I THINK EVERYONE WORKED HARD AND THEY ALSO HAD FUN WITH THEIR FRIENDS COMING IN. ITS MORE A FAMILY ORIENTED PLACE. TOMORROW WILL BE FINE ALSO.

OH YOUR POOR MOM'S LIP. I HOPE NO ONE WAS STARING AT HER. YES DROOLING WOULD BE EMBARRISING . GOOD THING YOU WERE NOT THERE IN THE STORE WITH HER.

ITS A GOOD THING YOUR MOM GOT YOU OUTSIDE FOR YOUR SUNBATH. MOM WAS SO BUSY TODAY DOING LAUNDRY, GOING THRU HER CLOTHES AND GETTING RID OF STUFF SHE WILL NOT WEAR OR IS OLD. THEN MOM HAD TO DYE G-MA'S HAIR. SO THAT USED UP THE DAY. MAYBE TOMORROW WILL GET OUT AFTER MOM GETS HOME WITH G-MA FROM THEIR ERRANDS.

I DO HOPE YOU AND YOUR MOM & DAD HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY.

  Hi Kiddo
Glad to hear that moms lips are healing good and quick too. That neosporine is great stuff!
Today was a pretty nice day. This afternoon mom loaded me up in my stroller and put me in the back seat of dads pickup and we went down to the trail. Mom pushed me and I got to see all the people and some dogs on leashes and the water on the river. One place the water runs very fast and makes lots of noise. Coming back there was a train on the other side of the river and mom stopped so I could watch it a bit too. Lots of people saw me in the stroller and stopped to look and talk to me. I just looked at them. I sure was tired when we got back home and I got to ride so bet mom was really tired out! “Don’t cry because its over, smile because it happened.” Left a vote for you ~~Your forever friend, Gus (RIP Chi chi)

  Hi Kiddo
I want to thank you for the recipe for the ants.Mom just can't wait to check it out,she already has the sugar, container and the cotton balls and of course water, now if she goes out tomorrow she can pick up the boric acid.Give your sweet daddy a hug from me to thank him for a good ant recipe that Mom can use in the house! And give Aunt Pam a big GCC hug from me and a soft beakie kiss for typing it all out for Mom and me!
Wow!I guess Mom shouldn't be complaining about the gas prices with yours being over $3.75 at the higher priced places!
We are all so happy to hear that Aunt Pam's lips are healing so quickly,we were all so worried that she would be in such pain for weeks the way it seemed.
Oh how I wish we could've gotten out today but our temperatures for the day never went any higher than 52 and it was really cold behind the warm sunshine if you were standing on the deck in it,there was a cool breeze flowing through behind it so Mom didn't want to chance us getting chilled out there!Mom and I are so eggcited because starting tomorrow we're supposed to be in the 70's and by Tuesday get into the 80's but that we have to see, they say that and then we wind up much lower than that.At this point Mom and I will take any kind of heat we can so we can shut all the heat off entirely in the house and our heat boxes too!
Kiddo please don't eat those onions, you can't have any onions at all, they're not good for us fids as they have some kind of chemical in them that mixed with our metabolism will kill us.So no onions red white or any kind at all!Don't want to lose you over an onion!I know they're good but not for us fids!
Both Mom and dad stayed home with us today, they left around 3:00 this afternoon to run some errands but they were back by 5:00pm.We will be left in our cages tomorrow while both Mom,dad, skin bro and hopefully Nana will be going to LongHorn restaurant for some steak lunch.Mom just loves the chocolate stampede cake they have there, actually she just loves eating the chocolate mousse that's in the layers of the cake. They better bring us all home a good birdie bag of some fries and or steak!Dad raked Mom's flower garden and some of the yard today while Mom stayed inside and did some of her chores. Its going to be a greyt laundry hanging outside day and she's gonna be going out!She wants to at least get her sheets on the line and maybe some towels to see if they;ll start drying nicely out there.Mom hates the dryer and loves the way the sheets and clothes come out so clean and bright.I love to roll around in the warm laundry,it feels so good on my twisted toes!
Wishing you a greyt day and I'm sending you all my love along with warm birdie hugs!Loving you always and forever,Dixie

  Hi Kiddo
Hello everybirdie, Sweetie once more with today's BOTM blog. I want to thank everyone who stopped by, especially those who have shared their past with us.I hope every parront will take the time to read these interesting and heart-moving accounts of how their fid(s) joined their lives. We Parrots are all so unique and individual both in our personalities and in our relationships to our human caregivers. What I hope to do this month, as the days pass is to begin an active, open discussion about s wonderful, fascinating and sometimes difficult Parrots.
Whatever means we took to join our now forever homes, as varied and interesting as they all are, the one factor that remains common is, "none of us were born to live within the human environment." Sharing our days with humans was not a consideration when we were first created, and often times this factor brings with it untold challenges, conflicts and joys for both the owner and their wonderful, independent and awesome companion Parrot. My hope is that dialogue we can share these moments, thereby helping one another grow, over-come and expand in our relationships with one another.
We will look at, and talk about various Parrots and their loving Parronts, how they came together and how they have over-come problems; road-bumps along the way to developing that mutual trusting relationship. Even those who arrived into their families as weanling babies had obstacles that had to be faced and worked through. Since no parront has arrived yet at that place where never a new challenge or problem shall come along, we can help one another to forge through these birdie-barriers with renewed confidence.
My Momma Deb has over forty years of bird-related involvement, yet daily things come up that are a "first" for her. As a writer Advocate for Flockcall.com she is able to share her day to day observations with others in the hopes that someone will gain a tiny morsel of wisdom that will help them with their own Companion Parrots. I have been a challenge to her. Although only two years old there was and still is a communication problem; a language barrier that has slowed my transition to my new home. The problem is not my failure to learn English, but her lack of knowledge of another language which I grew-up with. Momma Deb has had to re-think her approach to these several times, and after many hit-miss attempts has worked out a solution to our understanding. It is this sort of thing that I want to have us share with one another. What works for you might just work for someone else.
Please, feel free to continue to write about how you came to be in your current Companion Parrot home. TODAY'S QUESTION: is simple but important: WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE YOU, the PARRONT, had to overcome with YOUR new fid? and HOW did you OVERCOME IT?

You bit your mom's lips? Not just one but both?? Are you tryin' t'see what the inside of the dog house looks like? I've made a note about your feelings concerning toothbrushes just so I don't ever use one in your company. Har har. Impressive behavior at the new groomer's though. You're a real charmer when ya need t'be, aren't ya. What a guy.

Well, I'm off t'deliver more of these betting receipts. Chyna will be happy t'know the coffers are fillin' up already.

  Hi Kiddo
It's Popeye.
Izzy is all moved into his now condo. It's three times bigger than the small travel cage he was in for a week. Dad will post another picture on Popeye's page later. Also the vet called to let mom and dad know about the results of Issy's blood tests. They all came back perfect. Izzy is in perfect health.
Today will be clear, with a high of 87 and a low of 57. Mom and dad may drive down to Long Beach to spend the day at the beach.
Hope your day was fun.
Hugs,
Popeye

  Hi Kiddo
Poor mom! Hope that lip heals quickly. It's terrible to get hurt anywhere on the head, head wounds always bleed a lot.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood today, it's warm and sunny already. When mom walked the dogs this morning it looked and sounded like National Mow the Lawn day or something! Lots of folks out working. Jeff, our neighbor, brought some dahlias that he potted and some gooseberries to plant. Mom will plant them as soon as we finish our blogs.
This is marathon weekend in Pittsburgh, and tonight is opera night. Mom is hoping that by the time they go downtown, the marathon walkers will be done. Today is pet walk and 5k walk, and tomorrow is the 26 mile run. There are streets blocked off already for today, and there will be more tomorrow, all the ones mom uses to get to work. She forgot it was marathon weekend and signed up for a tour tomorrow, what a dummy.
Tonight is dinner and the opera. Mom and her niece Jessica will eat at a restaurant downtown, then go to see Daughter of the Regiment. Mom can't wait, but it won't be as good as the last time it played here. Then Joan Sutherland played the lead role, and she was the best soprano of her time.
I hope you are having a bright spring day and getting lots of cuddles and scritches. Hugs, Falco

  Hi, Kiddo
Obviously something bothered you about that toothbrush and awful you got your mom's lip by accident. Yikes! Four hours for it to stop? Glad it is better and that kept stuff on it since can't bandage it. So good of you to behave so well with the new groomer. We always think ones that take a lil eggstra time to talk to the fid and get 'em calm helps a lot and shows they aren't just there to do the job and be done with it.

Still hot yesterday so looking forward to the forecasted cooldown for today. The grand came over uneggspectedly so mom got a pic with her camera. We'll see if it is worthy of posting in our gallery.

Have a great day, wing hugs and a vote, Pearl and Silver.

Come visit me, Pearl & Silver.

  Hi Kiddo
I think you should practice your bugle hanging from dad's ponytail - he'll love it !

Today is g'ma's birthday so the parronts will be gone for a good chunk of it :( It's supposed to be a lovely day with lots of warm - they'll leave windows cracked open for me, and hopefully bring home a birdie bag with birthday cake too !

I kept squawking last night and mom told dad that it's my "get the tub" squawk. He's still learning bird. Well, once it was out, I splashed and soaked and splashed him some more ! We had a great time playing in the water :) Then I even got a bite of chicken with my supper :) Life is good !

Have a super day - go make a mess . . . or some noise ! or both ! love Cookie

  OH MY PROTECTIVE HUSBIRD
OH I BET YOU THOUGHT THAT TOOTHBRUSH WAS HARMING YOUR MOM AND WAS TRYING TO GET IT AWAY FROM HER ONLY YOU GOT HER LIPS. HOPE SHE WILL BE OKAY. DID SHE PUT ICE ON HER LIPS? IT SHOULD HELP WITH SWELLING. OH THE GIRLS AT THE GYM KNOW YOU ALL TOO WELL KIDDO. YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFUL. THE SPRING HORMONES ARE STILL THERE. HOPE HER LIPS HEAL QUICKLY AND DOESN'T AFFECT HER EATING.

I AM GLAD THAT YOU LIKED THE NEW GROOMER. BEING TALKED TO IN A CALM VOICE IS GOOD FOR US BIRDIES. THATS WHY I LIKED THE AVIAN VET I SAW BACK IN THE FALL. HE TALKED TO ME THE WHOLE TIME. WE WILL BE GOING BACK TO HIM IN THE FALL FOR OUR ONCE A YEAR CHECKUP & BLOOD WORK. MOM STILL HAS TO GET US IN FOR OUR NAILS TO THE REGULAR VET.

OH WHAT A LOT OF COOKING WE DID TODAY. I THINK WE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF CHICKEN TENDERS TO START THE WEEKEND. LIZZIE WAS COOKING UP A STORM ALSO. SHE WANTS THINGS TO GO VERY SMOOTHLY FOR KACEY AND MIKEY TOMORROW. WHAT A BIG SURPRISE TO SEE IT AS BOTD.

  Heya, Kiddo!
Oh dear. Glad your Mom is okay. I love the toothbrush, but I sure don't like the cell phone, so I will attack if she is using that. Guess we just have things we don't like, huh? The lip will heal fast, Mom says. I nipped hers when I was really young. Neosporin and some icing helps. With all that blood flow to the lip, it also means healing up fast.

It was nice out today but cool. Got to 60. Mom has a phone interview with a bank here on Monday. The bad part is she might have to go up to Green Bay periodically. She hopes it is not a whole lot, cuz she is not excited about that at all. Me either, especially if it is longer than a day. So she will have the phone interview and see what happens.

Then she was getting my breakfast ready, and the new microwave was acting weird. The door would not lock. She got it to lock finally, so I got nice warm veggies for breakfast. But after that, it would not lock. So she put in a ticket for it, as it is only a little over two months old. And then called to find out what happened next. Apparently they will have a repair person come out to fix it. She was wowed by that. The bad news? It will take two weeks. So she found a backup one for reasonable, and picked it up today. I had to have my supper not warmed up, as she fed me before she got the back up one. This one doesn't have a mirror on the front, and is smaller, but it works and at least Mom and I have something that will warm up things. Oh yeah, and make popcorn.

Hope you had a great Friday!

Wing hugs to ya!
