well, there was an ad in the paper. we called and set up an appointment, but by the time we got there, she was already gone. Then 2 days later there was an ad on the internet for a yellow collared macaw. we called and went over and met Erma. It turned out to be the same one from the paper. Long story short, we figured she was meant to be with us and now she is!. Awards

  Caymus flying by...
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Marvin. How about turning on the shower really hot, closing the door, and have him sit in the steam? That definately would help and he wouldn't have to get sprayed. Mom puts me on top of the shower door when she bathes in the morning so when the steam rises, I get misted. Maybe give him his little "steam room" 1-3 times a day. Very important that you stop him from plucking asap, but everybirdy will have to ignore him (including daddy) when he pulls out a feather or he'll think it's getting him attention. Let me know how it goes...we've got our toes crossed! Leaving big hugs and a vote.

Come visit me, Blanche, Caymus & Peachy (2004-2010) - Thank you for BOTD!.

  Hello from Caymus
Hi Erma! Guess what? Mom went to a bird show this weekend and for the first time, saw a yellow-collard macaw in person. She didn't realize how much smaller you guys are than the Scralets, B&G and Green-wings. Not that that matters because I'm only about as tall as your tailfeather but I've got a BIG personality! How is your week going?Me...I'm going through my first "adult" molt. And I hate it! The darn itchy pokey feather covers are driving me bonkers and the only relief I get is when mom mists me, which thank goodness she does a couple times a day. And boy am I cranky! But who wouldn't be when they have to grow a whole body of feathers! The only good thing I'm getting out of this are the scrambled eggs in the morning. I hope you're having a beautiful day; leaving big hugs and a vote!

Come visit me, Blanche, Caymus & Peachy (2004-2010) - Thank you for BOTD!.
