I like people food. I love kettle corn, Wheat Thins, and chocolate chip cookies.
 I like to sit on the counter or table when you are snacking.
 When I have been out for a fly-around and a romp, I will be very upset if you forget to hang my favorite toy, my mirror, on my cage. Squawk Squawk Squawk!
 My owner lets me fly all over. I know all three levels of the house. I get to go to Florida, out in the Airstream trailer, to New Jersey, and to the lake cottage. In cold weather, I wear my double fleece cage cover. I am a musician with perfect pitch. I can whistle variations on any tune. My favorite is Ride of the Valkyries that my owner taught me. I also do a mean canary imitation.

Thinking of you
I know it's been so long but Tookie is having a grand time over the Rainbow. Our Mommy's rooster Moses is heading that way soon too. He's 11 and that's old for a chicken she says. Also ever since she brought Buttercup home she really started noticing that Cookie is not the super excited bird he used to be. It's going to be super sad for Mommy. Moses will cross over soon and Cookie has just a couple of years. It will be very sad times when it does happen.

Dear Sylvia,
Thank you for coming by my page. We understand how much you must still miss Tookie. Please forgive us for missing his anniversary. We knew it was coming up but thought it was the end of Feb not Jan.
We're all doing very well. The winter has been mild, though we did have a cold spell in Dec. We've got a new bird in the flock. Pepper is a 15 year old african grey. His former family couldn't keep him after his mom got sick. They asked us to take him and here he is. He's not been handled for most of his life. Mama is working slowly to gain his trust so he can learn to step up. He lets her pet his beak and sometimes his toes. Poirot would like to be his friend, but Pepper is so unused to this type of attention that he chases Poirot away from him. Poirot isn't fazed by it though. On the other hand, since I'm so quiet and calm, he'll let me sit near him on his cage. I was so excited when he first came here that I spent several weeks as close to him as possible.
I've been doing very well except for some skin problems. I'm always on the lookout for food. Poirot's cage gets raided for crumbs and pellets everyday.
I hope you enjoy your time in FL. It must be so nice to leave the snow behind. I can't wait until it's warm enough for me to go outside once again.

I am here to celebrate your Rainbow Bridge day! It was a sad day for everybird and your family when you had to fly off to the Bridge but I want to remember what a joy it was for your family to have you here! I am hoping they have tons of wonderful, happy memories to keep them smiling! You look like you were a curious fellow and it looks like you enjoyed having dinner with the family too!
I hope you let your family know that you are still there and watching over them!

I enjoyed hearing about Tookie and his love of travel, singing, and being the sweetest bird. Obviously his personality has made him an unforgettable bird. His picture definitely portray him as a dolly of a 'Tiel. Love the photo of him with his head hidden in the bell. What a lucky bird he was to live with such loving parronts and enjoy an adventurous life.

It's an honor to have Tookie's name among the friends whose absences we yet miss. I imagine that after 23 years together, Tookie's company is still very much missed. What an incredible cockatiel he surely was. So glad you've shared his story and pictures here on the Bird Channel.

In Honor of Tookie
As a way to commemorate of our bird friends whom we've had to say good bye to here on the Bird Channel, a special section is being prepared on The Calendar Page as a memorial to their passing. Forever in Our Hearts
Dear Sylvia,

I sincerely hope your day was a special one. May the blessings of the day, fill your hearts with joy that lingers through the coming year.
My tastes in toys are simple; things that are easy to chew and shred. Pinecones are one of my favourites. I love to chew them and was presented with two big ones this morning. What fun I've had whittling them away, then I spent some time chewing on paper and a new shreddable toy we got, close to Poirot. It was a good day overall.
I was even given a piece of almond, a rare treat.

Dear Sylvia,
I'm here to pick up copies of Tookie's pictures. We will tell you as soon as the slideshow is ready. We understand that you still miss Tookie. He was part of your lives for a long time. Saying good bye to a beloved pet is so hard, there is always an empty place that once was filled by them.
This past week, one of our dogs got really sick and died on Thursday. We really miss her. Even though she's been in poor health for some years, it was unexpected.
Again, I'll let you know when the slideshow is ready. Hopefully in the next two weeks.

Rainbow Bridge birdies
Hello Sylvia,
It's been far too long since we stopped by Tookie's page, but we always remember him, especially as he was my first friend here on the channel.

Hi Tookie! I know you're doing well up there, Hi Tookie's Family! Well there's been a lot of changes here at home! My mom's little cousin took Max and Ben home with her so that her 'tiel has company while her cousin's at school and while working in politics before the November election, a volunteer had developed allerigies to her 'tiel so she adopted Noel! So now I have a new flock mate! She's still adjusting but she actually likes everyone at home and not just mommy and my mommy's dad. Hello From Pringle
Did you hear the news? Poirot made it to the finals. Thanks to you and all the wonderful birds on here. My eggs haven't hatched so I'll have to start thinking about leaving them. I know they won't hatch anyway, but I have to sit on them, just in case. Mama says she looks forward to having me back again, not just sitting in a box all day long. Unfortunately, because of this never ending smoke, I don't know when I'll get outside. It sounds like Edina is the picture of perfection as a travel companion. Julie is very lucky. Hello Sylvia, That must have been a very sad moment when the kids came to look for Tookie. I bet it is not the same without him on all your long trips. He had such a wonderful personality. Poor,China. Maybe she'll get used to traveling one day. Edina doesn't mind traveling does she? That is nice that you could give her, (China,) some sedatives. Also it's nice that the cats will endure one anothers company. I saw the picture's of the two of them together on Edina's page. I am on my second clutch of eggs this summer. I came off them for an hour and a half yesterday, took a really good bath and preened for along time. I was so eager to bathe, that I stuck my whole head in my bowl and came up spluttering and sneezing. We have been having problems with smoke since early June. The fire season started so early and has been bad. The closest fire is about 12 miles away, but there are so many in the mountains up here that the smoke is there constantly. Sometimes there are intervals where it has cleared up enough so we can go out. Poirot was absolutely desperate this afternoon. I will miss going to the aviary when I come off my eggs. Thanks for voting for me. It means so much to me. Apart from this morning when I had a singing and talking session for a long time, I've been sitting quietly on Mama's knee while she been typing for me. I like it when Pringle is on her eggs because I don't have to compete with her for attention. Don't tell her I said that will you? I will let Pringle have the computer in awhile. Last night I got to perform for some guests. Mama put some icecream in my oatmeal and I did all my tricks exceptionally well. I am such a showoff and the icecream definitely was a good bribe. I have taken a liking to playing in a paper bag. That picture of Tookie is so cute. I am going to try and have a daily proverb or saying everyday this week. ****A Spoon in the beak is better than ten in the drawer.**** Leaving you a vote.
