He was rescued from an abandonment, neglected situation. His previous owner was put in a nursing home and subsequently died. The family would come by and throw food in the cage, that was about it, they didn't clean the cages or nothing. And no interaction. There were 5 birds total(2 Amazons, a blue and gold, a scarlet mccaw, and a sun conyer. The family gave them to a local pet store I deal with to get rid of. I would have loved to have had the bluey, he was freindly. I also have a cockatiel (page coming soon as I take a picture)and I have wanted an Amazon. My neighbor has 2, A yellow nape--he likes no one but my neighbor. and a Yellow wing Amazon--she loves everyone. When I saw him in the store, I knew he was mine. The main picture is his look of "I'm about to stir things up". Awards

  Hey Randal
Thanks for the blog you left Abercrombie. You are a very pretty bird. Whenever my Mommy comes close to my cage, I lean as far away from my cage as I can without falling. Of course, I've fallen more than once. Actually, to tell you the truth, I fall quite often. I'm very clumsy, but my Mommy is teaching me to grasp onto things. I'll come back and visit. :>

Your little guy is very beautiful and very lucky to be with you and out of the bad situation he was in.   Did you know?
Randal, did you know it's very hard to find an amazon like you in the pet trade. You are a rare species; you are a lilacine amazon - a subspecies of the red lored amazon (also called yellow cheek). My mom would LOVE to find and have one like you. You are very handsome. Give my regards to your master and tell him to let my mom know if he finds another one like you. Take care. Talk to you later.

Come visit me, Careto, Sunny, Ray-Ray, In memory of Travieso & Tweety.

  Why "birdzilla"?
Other than the fact he is a little monster. I Collect lego's. I was sorting through some of the mini fig people. He had climed down off the cage and grabbed one of the little guys and ran. just the way the fig was in his beak looked like something from a bad monster flick. Yes, I added the screams and sound effects. it was rather funny to watch.

Come visit me, Claude---Pretty bird, Gracie--the green-cheek & Randal.

I am so glad to read this story. I also rescue birds and most of my 26 birds have similar stories. Each and every bird is worth every oz. of time and effort expended to them . . . to nurture them . . . to treasure them . . . to have the priveledge to care for them. God bless you. Liz

Come visit me, Crackers, Gretta, Fran, Bailey & Hannibal.
