 I am a rescue. I was sheltered in a basement when I was adopted. I was in a separate cage while 4 conures lived in the cage next door (these also were adopted). I think the plan was to breed us, however, since 4 of us are guys, us just wasn't happening. So we were offered to mom. My hatchday is January 8th since I am named for the King of Rock n Roll.. |

Hello Elvis~
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I've got the gardeners here to watch. They are outside my window mowing the lawns! Pretty soon Mandy will be woofing to go out just because she likes to smell the fresh cut grass! Mom takes her for a walk everyday and Mandy has decided she likes to walk down to the Starbucks. Do you suppose it's the scones they sell? I always share my scones with her so maybe she figured she just go down there and get us some! I like the way she thinks!!
Mom already went to the market before I even got up! The store is open 24 hours a day. It's less crowded early in the mornings but mom has to put up with freight on the floor and the floor scrubber being used. Since she works nights at a store, she is use to that stuff.
She got me some pecans so I'm looking forward to my snack! I'll be having apples and pecans today! Yum!
I'll be supervising the chores later on and letting mom know how she should do stuff! We all know our parronts would be lost without us!!
I have to tell you that I appreciate you sitting with me at the games so very much. It is my most favorite part of birdie baseball! Hanging out with friends and enjoying snacks!!

Me and my fister Mango got into a big fight the other day. I managed to pull a couple of her flight feathers out. That's the first time that has ever happened. I guess all the years of Mango teasing me made me snap. Mom has always been careful when we are loose in the same room together. But, for now on that can't happen anymore.

We tied with Phoenix yesterday as the warmest cities in the US! COOL! That is a first!! I can also just about
guarantee it will be the only time that happens! Usually our weather records tend to be for the wetest place in the US! Today it is back to what May usually looks like up here! We are back to flannel shirt weather!

Thanks, Aunt Denise gave me a hat that matches my feathers, didn't she? I love it, wish I could wear it for baseball, heehee.
Today mom did 3 cultures tours with 2 sixth grade groups, both of which had a pretty good handle on Egypt. She likes doing this age group, because they know a little more and aren't yet teens who have to prove their indifference. It's late, though, so we're gonna be short. Well, mom did 2 adult tours this morning, and loved it. Today is another beaut of a day, and she will try to get us out for some sun. She is going to have Vietnamese dinner tonight, with her friends who are cooking. They invited her to eat with them tonight and, of course, she said yes! We will be buying flowers and veggies soon, so that means we'll be getting out a little more. Hope you are able to enjoy a gorgeous spring day where you are! We can't figure out who Kevin and Samantha are, but do thank her for liking my hat! (Vote for me on the milonga page, too!, heehee) Not much new here, mom is doing a lasagna dinner for Nghi's family tonight, so we're keeping this short. She already made the braciole(seasoned, rolled steaks) and sausage, and the little meatballs are done and ready to go. So, just the sauce, noodles, and assembly/baking are left. She has to clean the house before they come too, you know: feathers, fur, food on every surface! Tomorrow is tour day, so we'll see you tomorrow afternoon. Hope your day is fantastic! Thank you for your kind words about Weasley. The budgie cage looks so empty without her. I still wasn't totally used to seeing only three budgies in there. I sometimes still look and expect to see Jake. At least I know Weasley is with him again. That brings me a bit of comfort.
Weasley was my first bird. She was my present for my 10th Birthday. I remember pretty much every detail from the night I got her. It was July 30th, 2010. My mom came home, and she said I could finally go get a budgie to put in the cage I got. I remember coming home with her, putting her in the cage, and petting her head the first time. I remember not wanting to go to church the next day because all I wanted to do was sit with her. She was such a sweet bird. I can't thank her enough for everything she did for me. She was my baby, my best friend, and my teacher. I will never forget her love or the things she taught me. I miss her so much. ♥

I do hope you are having a wonderful day! I'm doing just fine. Not much going on around here today. Dad has been cleaning out the storage room to make it into a workshop so mom and I have lots of stuff to find a place for. Mom says some of it can just be sent off to goodwill but it will be interesting to see where she is going to put the rest of it! Mom says that if we haven't used it for a while, it is really time to get rid of it. You can tell that mom doesn't like clutter!
I'm going to hang out in the play cage and supervise the job! I'm very good at supervising and I like to shout out lots of suggestions too!!

We heard the most awesome story this morning about people from all over the country jumping on to the internet and ordering pizza for all the police and firefighters out there investigating the bombing in Boston. Just awesome! Pizza Time deliver over 1500 pizzas! Very cool indeed!
Mom went out to the market this morning so I'm running really late today! Yesterday I lost power. It wasn't anything bad just dad turning it off so he could put a new light fixture in the storage room. Today I have been getting squawked! All I know is that this is all interfering with my blogging time! I really need to sit down with the parronts and explain the facts of a parrots life and the importance of having a puter available whenever I want it!! I'll let you know how it all goes!

I hope your day is going great! It's pretty quiet around here. Mom and I are watching the last Harry Potter movie! It's very exciting but very sad too!
It's still cool and rainy here. It got warm for a few days and then went back to being cold again. That is why we had the avalanches up in the mountains. They do avalanche control all the time up there but they had no warning for these avalanches. At least it's closed down now so everyone will be safe.
Mom cleaned my cage out before I even got up this morning! I think that was pretty sneaky of her!! It does look very nice and I have a new toy so I guess it's time to mess it up again! You know we like our cages just so!!
I am so glad that your parronts are going to get to go visit Uncle Dave. It will help him so much to have his family with him! We sure are keeping those prayers comming!
We hope your parronts have a safe trip and I don't think you need to worry about a bird sitter! They ususally know how to take excellent care of you! If not, you can clue them in!!

Oh my good birdie..Shame on your parronts for doing that!! You need to teach them a lesson or two. I've never had a bird sitter before. When ever Mom leaves town, its a relative who takes care of us. My Granpa is a pretty nice guy. He makes sure we are very well fed. Talk about hitting the jackpot with him. Mom keeps our quantities in check.

Hello Elvis~
I hope you are having a wonderful day. Kinda slow news day around here. Mom is doing laundry and I am eating apples! I don't mind it being quiet as long as I get to hang out with mom.
Mom got me a bunch of new books from the library so I have been enjoying them. Mom didn't find anything to read but she didn't have a lot of time to hang out there. She'd spend hours there if she could! It's always such a peaceful place.
Mom figured out how to capture pictures from video and other pages where you don't have the save option. She was able to save my avatar in my picture file! Now she is going nuts looking for videos. I'm sure most of the world already knows how to do this but it's a big thing for mom!
How is Uncle Dave doing?? You know that our prayers will never stop.

Did I tell you Mom saw the Million Dollar Quartet? She said the guy who played Elvis was pretty cute. But, the guy who did Jerry Lee Lewis stole the show. I had a bust day watching the cleaning ladies. Mom still won't let me supervise them. Maybe she thinks I'll just get in the way. Don't know why!!
