GAME TOMORROW
Just wanted to mention some of the bazbol league regs besides the no flockmates playing on the same team.

Be active on BC within days. “We will not allow a Player to participate whose parront has not visited the BirdChannel in weeks or months.”

(We will be playing a Monday thru Friday schedule this Season, posting all game results at 3:00 pm ET each afternoon.) Parronts who work during the day can post prior to and after the game.

Post at least twice on the Stadium page on our game days, once before a game and once after.

Team Rosters will be checked for participation monthly. If Players do not participate as is eggspected by accepting a position on the Team, they will be replaced by a Reserve Player

You are encouraged to post on teammates pages to develop Team unity.

GREYT game! Mom's puter wasn't working, she had to borrow dad's for the game, then did not get back on. Just as the puter problem seemed to be tamed, dad's godmother/aunt passed away and took 2 days of the parronts' time. Anyway, my eggscuse for not getting to you sooner.
Lets do some throwing and catching, you and I need to have good communication between the catcher and 1st basebird.

i'm baaaack, at long last! Mum just posted new pics. The first one is of her at the markets, which went real well. Mum sold $450.00 worth of pals, so that made her happy. She also made lots of contacts & met a lot of real nice people.
Everybody that came to her stall, broke out in big smiles & ahhh's & ohhh's. They all just loved her pals. She also got an order of the IRN, you can see in my gallery. Everybody agreed that the creature in the 3rd pic is a Tasmanian devil, just not all black. The 2nd pic is her brand new green cheeked conure. So, how have you been? I hope well.
It's still pretty warm here & it seems summer is never ending. I had a lovely sun bath today, with mum sitting with me on the balcony. It's great to be back & chat with my friends again.

here i am again with my weekly blog. Have a look at the rooster mum made. It was an order from an old friend of hers, who's a mad fan of our Rugby football team here, called "The Roosters." He got it today & loves it. Mum also made some funny bunny ears & St.Patrick's Day hats for the birds. It's all for the market days in March.
It's still very hot & humid here & mum hopes the worst is over & cooler temps are on the way soon, but she gets b'ful swims in every day. Hope you're well & have a good time.

Happy Valentine's Day to you & your flockily.
Mum & dad mostly ignore that day, b/c it's all become a bit too commercialised.
New pics are up, as you can see in my gallery. Mum's getting into all kinds of things now,even snakes, can you believe it? Well, with the Chinese new year of the snake, maybe not a bad idea?
She's got an order from a lady in Canada, who saw the ad in BT mag, that made mum very happy & she hopes there will be more to come.
Our weather has been behaving itself pretty much this week, but it's already getting hotter again.
Hope you can stay nice & warm & spring won't be off very far.

new pics today, have a look. Mum even made a beehive, a new doggie ,new rabbit, a carrot for a rabbit, a lady bug & a new goffins too.
We had a break from the heat for the last 2 days & we had lots & lots of rain, which we needed badly.
I'm well & happy. Dad was home for 4 days, we had a long w/e, it was our Australia Day.

Another quaker book today ! PARROTS IN THE CITY : ONE BIRD'S STRUGGLE FOR A PLACE ON THE PLANET by Mattie Sue Athan, Jon-Mark and JoAnn Davey is about us quakers ! It details our history and introduction to the United States, our lives (and restrictions here), as well as suggestions for forming better relationships with local power companies (my feral brothers like to build nests around power grids). Well researched essential reading for all power company workers ! And quaker lovers !

look mum tried her hands on a little doggie. Mum sold a blue budgie to a boy last week, so now his sister wanted a doggie. Mum wasn't sure if she can make a dog, but for her first one, this isn't too bad.
Thanks for your hatchday wishes. It's still really hot here & getting even hotter the next few days. We had a few days over 100! Broke a new record!
Mum goes for her swims every day, that's the only relief for her. I love my baths too.
Hope you're not too cold! Wish we could swap weather, just a little, so everybody would be comfortable.

It would be a mistake to leave ALEX AND ME by Dr. Irene Pepperberg out of my campaign for we were all touched by Alex through the years, and we were all saddened by his early passing. This is not only Dr. Pepperberg's fascinating story of her research of bird intelligence, but it's also a personal story of love. Mom was lucky enough to hear her speak at Parrot Palooza a few years back - an experience she'll always remember !

Thanks for getting back to me !

A while back an e-mail was circulated about a man and his eagle. AN EAGLE NAMED FREEDOM by Jeff Guidry is that story ! The author was volunteering at a wildlife center when a baby eagle, sick and injured was brought in. The book tells of the tender bond that the author developed with Freedom. With his patience, Freedom became a part of the educational training until Jeff is diagnosed with lymphoma and must undergo chemotherapy. The day he was finally pronounced cancer free, he goes to the center to share his joy with Freedom - who wraps her wings around him - beautiful !

today is my made up hatchday! Mum showered me with love & affection the whole day...i'm not complaining!
It's pretty warm over here & i had a late little bath today to cool off. We're in for another heat wave by the end of the week. Mum wishes summer was over already!
She put some Valentine's birds up, with hearts & little cards around their necks, so if you need one for Valentine's Day, just let mum know. She takes orders of any birds. There's a little green cheek conure, 2 more with hearts around their necks, a brand new umbrella cockatoo, she just finished today, 2 new budgies, a gang gang cockatoo, some bunnies & a cute little bunny by itself. Hope you're staying warm in your cold weather & have fun whatever you do. Thanks for liking all the pals.

Two things I need from you - do you have a preference to position and fifteen numbers between 1 and 12 !

Today we're taking a picture book break ! Me and mom love picture books too ! This one is IF I NEVER FOREVER ENDEAVOR by Holly Meade. It's about a baby bird snuggled in the nest trying to decide whether to fledge or not. Adventure vs. anxiety . . . something all humans can relate to - plus the illustrations are wonderful !

well, here i am again, a day after our terrible heat wave. Mum & i survived by staying inside all day long. Dad works in a/c, so he was alright. Today was a much better day, nice & coolish, but there are more heat waves on the way, YUCK! The fires are all very far away from us, so no need to worry, but mum feels sorry for all the poor animals, that don't stand a chance to escape. Hopefully it'll all be over soon.
The new pics are of mums Easter bunnies, she's making now for Easter. A new sun conure & all her fishies arranged so they look like they're swimming in some water.

QUAKERS RULE
Today's book is very close to my little green heart for a couple reasons - TANGO IN AMERICA by Steve Baldwin with Alison Evans-Fragale is about my wil quaker frothers in the USA. Tango is a young quaker looking for her father. During her search she faces many challenges and learns about life, love and growing up. Probably best categorized as a young adult book. Today's book review is WESLEY THE OWL by Stacey O'Brien, a biologist who specializes in wild animal behavior. She rescues a baby owl with an injured wing and over the next 19 years she studies and falls in love with Wesley. This is the story not only of their relationship, but all the author learned about owl behavior, intelligence and communication.

Thanks for the titles ! Mom is going to look them up - she's already familiar with the Tango in America ! In fact she's met the author - in Brooklyn (we're only about an hour away). Also great news on playing ball this season ! Mom has an e-mail into the commish and is waiting to hear back . . . we'll keep you updated as we know more !

Today's book choice is for the child in all of us - a picture book ! CHICKADEES AT NIGHT by Bill O. Smith and illustrated by Charles R. Murphy chronicles the life of these sweet little birds, of their dances, rides upon owls, spa visits - actually, it sounds like they've spent some time here on BC with us ! Besides the charming story and pictures, it is full of chickadee facts. Darling !

Happy New Year !
It was great to see you again ! I don't know how it happened but we lost touch :( What have you been up to ? Did you hear bazebol is starting up again this year ? Are you interested ? I e-mailed the Quaker Dragon coach but haven't heard back yet . . . mom is thinking of maybe stepping up if she doesn't hear by the end of the month.

Today starts my BOTM run . . . we are focusing on books (mom loves books) We're calling it Cookie's Book Corner and it will include fiction, non-fiction and reference books for parronts and their fids ! Starting tomorrow !

here goes the canary with a Santa hat!!!We know it's a bit early for Christmas themed pics, but mum just wants to show you the idea she had! She's going to make a lot of Santa hats & everyone who orders a bird from now on, will get one for free, also people at the market will get one when they buy a pal! What do you think of that idea? Mum wants to remind you that if you decide to get a pal for Christmas, now is the time to order. The post office has a date line for Christmas mail, so better be early than late! The 2 new tiels are for a girl in Germany & mum send them off today!
