Oh that is so HORRIBLE what happened to Cookie. No bird, or any animal for that matter, should EVER have to go through that. UGH...what is wrong with people! At least you have people now who are patient and loving..you will have a GREAT life with them. If you don't mind me asking, are you really 55 years old or is that a guess? Are you wild caught? Cookie, You are beautiful. We are happy you have found a good home. I have 3 rehomed birds, none with such a dreadful past. You have many wonderful years ahead with your new home. Be happy. Your right "every parrot is priceless" I know it doesn't sound so nice, but I'd like to put those people in that closet. Come visit me, Sammy, Angel, Doowee & Moses.

Congratulations!
What Angels you are! I feel as you do, 2 of my birds are re-homed...my Grey, Pepper came from a not-so-nice situation.
What a privilege to be able to be the Caregiver of such an elderly bird. Pepper is 15 and I am humbled by it. Cookie is 55 and is still living life. What a great thing for her to spend time with such loving people. I have such respect for the relationship you have been able to establish! Best of luck and lots of Joy!

I'm so glad to hear that there are more and more of us that have that huge heart to offer to a neglected bird. I have a second rescue bird myself and nothing makes me feel better than to know I can be of good to that bird, no matter what point in it's life it deserves to have you and I by it's side. That breaks my heart, about Cookie's past, People can be so mean and dumb they don't understand Macaws are like a 2 year old. My Blue and Gold prefers his cage instead of hanging around with the Scarlett and Catalina. I can handle him though. I got him when he was 8 years, my other two are only 4 I raised them from babies. I call them the 3 imps... Come visit me, Pico, Dewey, Alf & Mango.

awwww this is a very sad story to read. i can't imagine my birds ever left in a closet without food or water for days on end. cookie is very blessed to have you in his life!! thank you for rescuing him Come visit me, Ethal and Lucy.
