My human and I met over a year before I went home with her. I was at a bird rescue and was supposed to always live there. My previous human didn't want me moving from house to house to house. No one knows my real age or how many homes I may have had. When I got depressed and lethargic, the owner of the rescue thought it would be best to adopt me out for more socialization, even if it was just on a foster basis. The humans I went home with fell in love with me and decided I will never go anywhere else. I am a happier and funnier and more active bird than they ever knew me to be before. I have other birds to imitate and talk with and I am on a really good diet to help me be healthy and live a long life..

Hi! My name is Gris-Gris

I am an African Grey from Royal Oak, MI.

My name means an African charm or a voodoo sacred object or spell. A gris-gris can be an object or bag of objects that is carried for protection from bad luck and evil. I hope to bring my humans the best of luck. There is a saying that if you take care of your gris-gris, it will take care of you.
I am a very curious bird and like to poke my beak into everything. I like to unscrew all the other birds' bowls and see them clatter to the floor. I like to let the lovebirds out of their cage. I have a great time cheering them on to escape.

African Grey

Nuts!!!

Wherever I can get into everything. I mostlt like the area of the kitchen sink. I can turn the water on all by myself.

I don't like to do what I don't want to do. Who does?

The female human is my favorite. She is calm and gentle, but can play silly games with me, too. She really likes when I put my head upsidedown to give her a kiss, which is often!

I love to knock on walls, tables and floors for attention..

Knock-knock.
