KACEY CAME HOME IN GREAT SPIRITS AND VERY HUNGRY. SHE GAVE THE DR A TALKING TO BEFORE LEAVING THE BIRDIE HOSPITAL. THE FINAL DIAGNOSIS WAS A YOLK EMBOLISM. ITS JUST AS DANGEROUS AS PERITONITIS BUT WE WERE VERY LUCKY. KACEY'S BODY WAS ABLE TO ABSORB THE EMBOLISM AND NO DAMAGE WAS DONE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE. SHE WAS VERY CLOSE TO DEATHS DOOR YESTERDAY BUT YOU WOULDN'T KNOW IT TO LOOK AT HER TODAY. SHE DID LOOSE SOME WEIGHT BUT I EXPECT SHE WILL BE PUTTING IT BACK ON IN NO TIME. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
APRIL 7, 2011 KACEY UPDATE
VET CALLED THIS MORNING AND SAID KACEY MADE A REMARKABLE COMEBACK. SHE IS EATING AND POOPING REGULARLY. VET IS KEEPING HER TILL LATE THIS AFTERNOON. WANTS TO GIVE HER ANOTHER ANTIBIOTIC INJECTION AND CALCIUM SHOT. KACEY IS TRULY A FIGHTER AND THE POWER OF PRAYER FROM ALL HER FIRENDS HELPED. THANK YOU.
APRIL 6, 2011 KACEY IS RUSHED TO THE VET. SHE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH YOLK PERITONITIS, ITS WHERE AN EGG BREAKS INSIDE THE OVIDUCT CAUSING A BAD INFECTION. SHE IS ON ANTIBIOTICS AND OXYGEN. PLEASE PRAY FOR HER.
When my tiel Digger died suddenly in June of 2005, the breeder who I got SweetPepper, my sennie from had a special needs tiel. She called us and asked if we would take care of a young tiel who needed some special care. We said yes and Kacey came to live with us in August of 2005 at age 3 mos. She had no tail feathers, she couldn't fly and was very klutzy. We fell in love with her and here she stayed. She was gift to help with the loss of Digger. She isn't a replacement for Digger, but having her helped with his loss. Kacey still has trouble flying, she now has short tail feathers, and we love her dearly. HATCHDATE: May 20, 2005======

So eggcited we won our opening game. All that practice really does pay off. We look forward to our next game against Jenny Lynn's Raiders and will be at the 'tiel practice field most everyday to keep in shape. Think everybirdie played well and never gave up when we were behind. You're a great coach.

Well, Coach Kacey, I bet the smile on your pretty beak hasn't faded a bit since that final out of the 9th inning. I know my hasn't. Who knew this day would turn out so awesome! Makes me really excited for our game next week against the Raiders. Bring it on, Jenny Lynn!

Lots of luck on your game tomorrow! I am soooo excited cause we played our first game today and we won…by one point but a win at least!! Today was moms day out with the girls and though we missed her we know she needs these days too. Mom was with her sister and the skin sis and they went shopping and did lunch/ dinner together. You will be glad that we did our swimming over the weekend!! Its raining here this morn'n!! Mom said there's nutt'n worse then a rainy Monday!! heehe I just finished eating banana's and a little piece of pancake! Yumm!!!! How was your weekend? Happy 8th Hatchday. Hope its your best ever. Here's a vote in celebration. May you have lots of treats, toys and attention.
We mentioned to our team mates about blogging at least twice on game days even if early or late as that's what we'll be doing most game days.
On Mon mom won't get home from work until 2:30 CA time so definitely miss SweetPepper's game, but we'll fly over to the stadium and sit in the stands early and check the results later. Good luck to her team.
