Hi! My name is Peanut

I am a Cockatoo from Oswego, NY.

I call myself, Nut, Nutty, and Peanut Nut Nut.

10 years old   M

Cockatoo

I love my peanutbutter toast and warm mashed potatoes. I also like pasta and wing bones.

Anywhere with Dad. Its all about my daddy. Sure, those other people clean, feed and give me toys but they don't matter, just my dad. I love to fall asleep on my dads stomach, with one foot tucked under my feathers and ride up and down...up and down. I also like hanging out on my orb. I will start flapping and spin around talking. I say hi to Sprouty, Goose, Jou, and John. I will call my mom by her name- they still haven't figured out how I learned it.

I hate big toys with eyes. Anything that I think could possible eat me. I am scared of lots of things.

They get me out of my cage and take me to my Dad. They also give me cool toys like nuts and bolts.

I like to undo stainless steel nuts and bolts and put links on them and do them back up again. I can even take the bolts off my cage when my parents aren't watching. I also like to grab handful of food and throw it over my head or drop it and watch the dogs eat it..

"I LOVE MY DAD!".

Hi. I'm Callie the goffin. I like my daddy best, too, but my mom is a close second, and, even though my sister cleans my cage, changes my food and water, and spoils me rotten, she's only my favorite when mom and dad aren't around. I only terrorize my brother, so he doesn't pet me. All the other pets clear out of my way because they know who rules the house (I bite-just enough to let them know who's the boss). I am the queen! Anyway, we seem to have a lot in common, so visit my page if you can. Remember, Callie the goffin queen.

  Greetings from Shenanigans
Hello, it is nice to meet you. I like your photos. Your Dad must be pretty special for you to love him so much but I bet your Mom is super wonderful, your Dad married her so she must be. My Mom is 14 and she first laughed at me, all featherless and just laying there, then she decided she loved me and went and put the first payment of the adoption fee down for me at the pet store. I turned one on April 25. Maybe your Dad will go shopping for you to get your Mom a Mothers Day gift, while he is shopping I bet he will get you something to.

Come visit me, Babycakes, Snigglefritz, Pumpkin, HALDIR AND PINK LADY, Sparkle and I am lost, escaped my cage, Shadow & Shannigans.

Tweety needs your votes for her poem. Her foot had to be amputated Feb. 26th due to the main blood supply being cut in her leg. We had to separate her from her cage mate. I wanted to get her a big cage to move (fly around) in and after paying 258.00 for her leg to become amputated we could not afford to buy her the cage of her dreams. We notice that she flies a little to get around her cage and can defiantly use a bigger one. Thank you; please visit her web site at www.1luckybird.com

Come visit me, Tweety, Frosty and Ringo.

Hi Peanut! I had to laugh at the stories you told Snuggies! I think they must have been twins seperated at birth! Snuggles does like baths, but just in the shower. She absolutely hates spray bottles! I had to laugh at the wet bird and toys comment, too. About a month ago, Snuggles got out of her bath and rubbed herself all over her perch (it was a green concrete perch.) Needless to say, she was a green Goffin for a very long time! Snuggies also likes my husband the most. The funny thing is that my husband is in the Army and deployed a lot. She is such as Daddy's bird while he is home. As soon as he leaves, then she wants to be best buds with me. But just as soon as Daddy comes home, I don't exist (and I am the one who does everything for her!) Silly bird. So far she hasn't taken apart her own cage, but she likes to take apart the flight cage of the smaller birds. I'm still looking for a few nuts and bolts she has thrown someplace in the room! Her cage is supposed to be one of those with a "bird proof lock" on the door. Whatever! She has learned how to let herself out and everyone else! And for the talking, she is a very bossy little bird! She is always telling everyone to "stop it," "No," "Step up," "What are you doing?" etc. She never stops rambling on! I have to be careful when I am cleaning in her cage and she is out. If I bend over for some reason, she will play bite my butt and laugh then tell herself no! With all of her goofyness, she can always make me smile! I'm sure Peanut makes you smile, too!

Come visit me, Snuggles and her gang & Feather Plucker's Anonymous.

Hi Peanut! I hear you have a dove friend who likes Cockatiels, too! Hehe. I have two girlfriends, Gonzo the cockatiel and Campbell, the lovebird! Maybe sometime you should stop by and see my sister, Snuggles. She is a Goffin's cockatoo, also! Mom read your profile, and laughed! Most of the things you do, Snuggies does, too. That silly cockatoo! Can you even believe that she always asks us, "What are you doing?" and then follows it up with a "No!" Mom has learned that when she says "No," that means she is up to no good! Stop by and say hi to her sometime!

Johann

Hi, You ask me about the Macaws in the bathtub. They did not like being sprayed with a water bottle and I had read filling the tub throw a few toys in. So tried it, they do not swim only about 3 inches of water. since I have done that they now like a spray bottle also.

Good morning! Hey Madamoiselle, what is your NAME? All those wonderful lectures and conferences just sound fabulous! I personally cant get enough information . . . it's all just so exciting! I also love learning, and it seems the older I get the less I know! UGH! Thank you for your stories this a.m. - Great way to start the day. So you have a couple of your birds with you at school? Or are you close enough to home that you can visit often? Or are you still home with your folks? At any rate, I can tell you are still able to spend a lot of time with your feathered babies and that is really what is important! Yes I've heard about and actually seen the self-mutilation. Can be quite common in Greys and Toos. But I have to go to work now, so I'll write more later. Want to put you in my address book, but not under "Peanut"! ha ha! I'm sending good vibes your way and just know you'll do great on your exams. Take care, Liz Wilson, C.A.S. lizzys_birdhouse@yahoo.com

Come visit me, Crackers, Gretta, Fran, Bailey & Hannibal.

Hi there Peanut! (I voted for you because you are a very special, lucky, Bare-Eye!) Thanks for the tip(s) on travel carriers for my motorcycling birds! Of course I'm familiar with Drs. Foster & Smith! Don't know why I didn't think to research them! I could only shake my head in agreement and smile when you told me about your doctor not believeing how you came by all your bruises and boo-boos. I actually had to show mine some photos! Honestly . . . sheesh. I am so impressed with your dedication and credentialing! You won't have much trouble finding work . . . problem is that the need is so great, and the availability is so limited. That's why I've been kind of putting out feelers, and spreading the word about what kinds of services I offer in the Greater Columbus area. I have some family living up in NY, and I can check around for you. Also, a couple of girlfriends of mine are into rescuing (wild) birds of prey . . . they have a lot of connections so just give me a few days and let me see what I can come up with! Thank you so much for sharing! Funny Peanut enjoys taking large bolted items apart . . . I'd forgotten about that as one of the many quirks of my own Molluccan! He can get into and/or out of ANYTHING that has a bolt on it! tee-hee. Liz

Come visit me, Crackers, Gretta, Fran, Bailey & Hannibal.
