 My husband came home from a pet shop close to our house one day that had parrots, and of course he wanted one. I said no at first then went back with him talked with the owner got some websites to check out and the research began. We took 7 months of research each breed before choosing the Macaw, from there we narrowed it down to two of the macaw species, Hyacinth and the Blue and Gold. Because of short term and long term financial reasons we chose the Blue and Gold. Once we had our choice made we went back to the owner of the local pet shop that specialized in birds and asked her to find us a baby and she did. She recieved Samantha when she was 5 weeks old and finished hand feeding her out for us. We got to take a beautiful baby girl home with us when she was 13 weeks old. And have never looked back.. |

Thanx for responding. Go and have a look, my mom add some photo's of me. I have a clever mom, she served the net again, and know now what my noises are. So we communicate well now. She's even start potty training me, and I learn fast, it's amaizing. Since yesterday she took me outside to let met start walking short distances. She moved about 40cm away from me, then call me, then I walk up to her. She praises me for doing so. Soon I'm going to look as beautiful as you, with all my colourful feathers. Oh Samantha, I love to hear stories like yours! I wish more people spent time researching their "purchases" before diving in. You are an incredibly gorgeous bird! I've been rescuing exotic birds for 15 years now and it just seems to me that the more I learn, the less I know! Or is that just a (people)age-thing?! Your photo is beautiful! Photo-shop?
