This time around i blame my hubby. (you know the i am not a animal type person) HA. went to a local breeder to buy a baby. As we are walkin' thru the avairy my husband starts talking to Mandi and her mate Malone. They talked the entire time i went thru the avairy. I'd never seen my husband show much interest in any of my "babies". After getting home that's all he could talk about. How cool Mandi and Malone were. Two trips later he ask the breeder if she would part with them, you could almost see him holding his breath. We brought them home and put them in a huge cage outside. They had never been indoors, unless when they were small. now of course they have the huge cage front and center in my living room, and they are a constant source of smiles and chuckles. I can't get my hands on Malone yet but Mandi will ALLOW me to rub her neck and she hangs onto my finger with one foot. But we love them, They will be here till the end..

My name is Madi I am a Yellow-Crowned Amazon from Logansport, LA. mommy calls me her favorite girl and when i sing she tells me i should have been named madonna 12 years old F Yellow-Crowned Amazon peanuts and ritz crackers I pretty much have to hang out in a cage since i was raised to be a breeder, but i'm hoping if i let my mom touch me more one day i can hang outside the cage like that snobby grey and that mean lil caique that teases me. when my cagemate Malone gets all the attention, he doesn't sing opera like i do. They actually brought us INSIDE... and inside there is this really cool thing called a TV. and we get little treats just like the birds that sit on our owners shoulders. Mommy tells me i'm her best girl. Not real crazy bout the daddy man. But i think when i was a baby some man who wore a baseball cap was mean to me. This daddy talks sweet but i haven't been able to trust him yet. maybe someday i sing opera. and quite loudly. i also do what my mom calls "the tequila trill".. Right now it's dont trust men who wear baseball caps..but i'm working on a more positive one.

From your Birdie Buddy Hello to my entire birdie buddies here at Bird Channel. My Mom is working many hours right now so she has no time for us to come visit you, so we are stopping by very quickly while I am setting on Moms shoulder to say Hello & to wish you & your families a very Happy New Year. I got many toys for Christmas & Mom even let me unwrap my own Christmas presents that she had wrapped in brown paper bags & she cut them so that no glue is on it, or ink so, I am safe to open these presents from Mom & Dad, & plain white paper that Mom gets for me at the News Paper Business. I had much fun un-wrapping my toys because Mom wrapped them so good it took me a week to fully un-wrap one present, but I loved it because as you know, we love to rip paper apart being the birds we are. squawk Mom promises to let us come visit as soon as she is through with her job project she has going. She is under a timeline, so she is working many hours every day, daily & nightly & has no time for us to come visit, but I told Mom this morning that I wanted to come on Bird Channel & wish all my birdie buddies a Happy New Year & to say Hello. She said it was ok & made me happy today by letting me set on her shoulder while she works & we visit all of you. I love the trill noises the Amazons do! I also love how they fan out their "skirt" when they sing. You always know where you stand with Amazons. My moms Amazon loves her but will gladly bite the rest of us. Its so hard not to pet them with those long eye lashes and big cheeks.
