We are a bird family. Ely was bought for my teenage daughter. She searched the web, found a male eclectus and said thats what i want. Daughter moved out to live with her father and i didn't trust her dad to make sure Ely had the right food, cage etc so i kept him here. Now i'm mommy. and come seven am he's calling Mommy mommy. He is the sweetest of all our birds. He actually doesn't even seem to know how to bite. i love this little guy..

My name is Ely I am an Eclectus from Logansport, LA. sweetpea 6 years old M Eclectus crackers and mashed potatoes back of the computer chair, headboard of my mom's bed and on top mom's head He detests the Black Headed Caique Houdini. with good reason. anyone moving really fast.. don't touch his tail. She protects me from that mean Caique, and cuddles me and tells me how great i am. She lets me eat off her plate when she's having those yummy potato things. And she gives me corn on the cob..yummy my mom laughs at me when i run cause i run sideways.I like to hang upside down and chew on my toys and i love to sit right on top of mom's head. Be on the lookout for the caique... he is sneaky.

Hi Ely Could your mom give me some pointers? My mom is thinking of getting a male ekkie. I am a love bird and not sure we would get along if we were both out at the same time. Are Ekkies easy going and do you know of any sites that mom could visit to get more information on Ekkies. Do you talk? Anything you can tell mom sure would help since she has you. From your Birdie Buddy Hello to my entire birdie buddies here at Bird Channel. My Mom is working many hours right now so she has no time for us to come visit you, so we are stopping by very quickly while I am setting on Moms shoulder to say Hello & to wish you & your families a very Happy New Year. I got many toys for Christmas & Mom even let me unwrap my own Christmas presents that she had wrapped in brown paper bags & she cut them so that no glue is on it, or ink so, I am safe to open these presents from Mom & Dad, & plain white paper that Mom gets for me at the News Paper Business. I had much fun un-wrapping my toys because Mom wrapped them so good it took me a week to fully un-wrap one present, but I loved it because as you know, we love to rip paper apart being the birds we are. squawk Mom promises to let us come visit as soon as she is through with her job project she has going. She is under a timeline, so she is working many hours every day, daily & nightly & has no time for us to come visit, but I told Mom this morning that I wanted to come on Bird Channel & wish all my birdie buddies a Happy New Year & to say Hello. She said it was ok & made me happy today by letting me set on her shoulder while she works & we visit all of you. Ely, you are so handsome! You must look so funny running sideways . . . I can just picture it! We have a lot of birds in our family flock here at the house, but have never encountered an Eclectus! Mommy plays with the ones she meets, but fortunately she has never had to rescue one (yet). So thank you for allowing me to enjoy your company, and I hope to see more of you!
