We are owned by THREE cockatoos: A lesser sulphur crested, an umbrella and a molluccan. Life is never dull with these bold and animated birds. But you really have to understand them - they are certainly not for everyone. Please educate yourself first BEFORE you get one - do everyone (including the bird) a favor with that.

I think it's more like I am owned by 2 Caiques. I am so glad that I found them, I can't imagine my life without them. There is nothing like trying to eat a meal with them helping themselves, standing in the middle of it (if you move them, they go back to the middle) or they just claim it as their food and attack the fork or spoon while letting out a "piggy squeal". They also throw food on the table, floor, me, or anywhere they can if they don't like it.

This is a great way for people to learn about caiques. They are animated and funny, smart and loving, beautiful and stubborn! I've had my Samson, a black headed caique, for twenty years -- what a hand full of joy he's been.
