Blake Ma currently resides in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, with his wife, Betty. They are very busy caring for two yorkies, two cats, six cockatiels and a whole lot of lovebirds. Blake enjoys working with lovebirds and has a passion for exhibiting and breeding them. In his aviary he currently has five species of lovebirds including peach-faced, masked, black-cheeked, Fischer’s and Abyssinian lovebirds. Blake is also working on re-establishing the fallow peach-faced mutation lovebird in the United States and is the webmaster for The African Love Bird Society as well as a frequent contributor to  the lovebird journal Agapornis World.  His personal lovebird website address is, and he can be contacted at

Here is hoping Dr. Irene finds peace in knowing her work and love with Alex are not in vain. I too lost my precious Yellow Naped Amazon, Gret, on the same weekend. It is so hard to wait for time to heal what can never really be healed. God Bless Alex and my Gret.
